Thats what i do a lot ive got a short 9' and a stock 45 9.5 for having a lash with ususaaly the yamha tour and the yonex ezone in oz as the 3 wood is irrelevant at home the short yonex is a good foil
-
Yea i was stunned but the thing was i was hitting the kamui way longer and geting it on the screws a hell of a lo more i think i just play short better these days

Compared to my outrageously tiny tourstage mr23, the personals are dead flat , compared to the srixon pro100 the personals off set is noticeablefor about16 seconds then u pick up the yonex ezone Which in comp.looks like a shovel so does the miura5002 and dont even go there with the sakamotos! Might as well use these for excavatingy land fills . The tour stage 905 miniscule heads have a noticeable chink. Every set ive got except the miuraism and srixons have an off set that i can see clearly and , i now love it the yonex ezones are veritable backhoes but that young japamese fella hits em ok and i beleive so do most others that have them they are2011 models and the off sre is huge in thosebut it maters not i iota they are as dynamic as anything iver ever triedand truth be told they are the easiest to move about these things u can bend like the poshs toyboy the way the companies do thr off set now , personally i love it wont play anything else now makes hitting the ball so much easier and u still get thedynamics u need beleive me anyone just go hit a yonex ezone mb see for ya self im a fan of the new old shape but back to the personals i reall dont think people will nitice the off set seconds after striking a ball i didnt i just did beceause the other set in my hand is so square i ended up hitting 3 times more balls withe the epon than anyingthing elseby the end it was just a superb club
-
undertand ur point 100% when u see these in hand i think ur mind changes pretty quickly , i was of same mind as you i thought they were plain ugly- nasty. then i saw one, in the flesh , hmmmmm they not too bad at all..., and then i HIT one. everything changed.

i had a very good blast with the 7 i last night with NS modus 3 in it. i had a lot of my own 7 irons as well with various shafts my current gamers are the srixon pro 100 blades. very traditional looking blades, but ....., with a very rounded profile. i also have a set of af tours which i use as a quasy cavity style, when the day is lovely and grass lush these get the nod. after striking a heap of balls with all irons i got to thinking.. this club is NOT in the blade bracket, one should NOT compare this club to the traditional tiny thin blades. the personals are a lot more chunky. more robsut . . the personals have quite a thick top line with a small compact face the over all aesthetics look very pleasing and very playable, ur not hitting a skinny, paper thin, whisker thin blade here , this is BLUE STEEL. the personals are thick , small and compact and soft as hell to strike, but quite a full feeling . my other blades are very "thin" in comparison , this was the most noticeable differnce i found last night . the persoanls were def the nicest to hit. they have a fuller feeling than the af tours as well. the impact stays with you longer..... its lovely sensation they dont look like the aftours one bit. the sole is thinner, the blade noticeably smaller, rounder and chunkier. they sit some where in between the 302 and yamaha tours in both looks feel and style i reckon. i love that style. i noticed that i can pick these pretty clean . cleaner than both yammy tours and 302s , but no where near as clean as the srixons, and nothing like the tourstage, not even close, (nothing is). but alternatly when u dont get these ones clean u skip over the top very veyr thin. the personals no where near as much. i maintain they seem to be a pretty easy blade STYLE , but theres nothing traditional about these at all. i think EPON designed a brilliant product here, i dont really classify them as out and out blades. i think they are a more dynamic 302/yamaha tour style club. right in the middle they are def more player eqsue . id play these in a heat beat an sell a lot of other brood mares i have to accomodate the new stallion to the stable. i had them working around both ways with a bit more control than the other tradtitional blades . but a bit more workability than the 302s, miss hits were are a LOT more controlled and less dead! this is def. one of these clubs highlights, miss**ts DONT kill you anywhere near as badly as trad. blades do. overall these are a really lovely feeling iron. they are surprisinly easy to hit, control is terrific distance loss was a tiny wee bit noticeable ,but i was using the wrong shafts for a start , with my shafts would sort that out immediatly . u can move these around a wee bit , but are not for bending like beckahm . but small controleld fades and draws..................., yea boy! now my big question is would i game these at longy in the puff....., 100% YES.

aha...not any more u dont! -
again i was ranging last night. and to my surprise, i doscoverd the ryoma id re-built was longer,,,way longer than i like nad can play well. i got the feeling things werent as they seem , the 202 gram head was built to bring the spin down and flight down, which it did perfectly. but the hosel must be very high on the club (?) in the ryoma bec the shaft in this makes the club very long and its just a stock 110cm shaft 202 gram head crazy ls noir 7.7 45.375+ inch driver come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no way, no wonder i was struggle street with it and the same length shingo spec shaft 3 weeks ago u need to be king kong to hit this well! damn this is miles too long. i measured it agaisnt the kp-x and its like looking at pw vs a 3 iron. i was on the red prgr head speed timer thing and the SS was 107 wit the kp-x and 103 wit hthe ryoma ball speed was 154 VS 152 at 103 with both heads ( kp-x over ) didnt like the result ,this shaft was perfect i nthe 198 gram . ryoma last yr. wasnt overly long , but jeewhizz i got it straight. totally relaible. things need to change so to my bat cave . what wonders are hidden. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh haaaaaaaaaaaa how about a diamana X 70 s ?? hmmmmmmmmmm. pondering this all morning i think this is the answer . 44.625 inch driver. build. thing is tho. if i cut this shaft to that length it will have to stay there bec by the looks of things the shaft need cutting a lot in this head. and in "normal" heads this will be a ver yshort driver indeed. its a big ask. but i think this head deserves the best shaft, no? ponderage..., decision today

yup. they are the softer version or shigekis which are an x flex, and they are stout! -
yes and get the weight right.. its ok to just say ok build this to d2.5 but that might need tip weights, gel shots, lead tape. the thicker the shafts u got he less "feel" u get so it kinda hurts all that is good in JDM feel. lord knows ive tried to get it perfect. still not there yet. i do know in my heart tho that 44.5 and 45.25 are the perfect length, the 45.25 i can get toe hang which i like on some clubs like the yammy tour, 45.5 is too much and 45 isnt quite enough 44.5 im at the end of the butt and i get great control. weird, but thats how i play best.

How come no reports on the Tourstage 707 driver?
supo replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
IMO ..... tourstage drivers dont get a lot of air play , even in japan. i think its becease they might be viewed more like the professionals clubs. my mate just bought the old 703 dg di7s last firday, which i think was made ot be a very forgiving easy to hit stlye club. we were at hte range having a bash around and its no more harder than anything else. wasnt overly long but was lovely to hit. thsi model goes ok, but agaisnt the yamaha same model, the yam i thought was way better i did the TS /YAM test a cpl of yrs back, yama was miles better IMO i dont see them in many bags, and no one i know has them except him the old TS p51 ai-chan model form 3-4 yrs ago was an undergorund type of hit . but seriosuly it was really hard and stupidly low. my bud had one and on a good day it was great on a bad day he was dead ,every drive way to unforgiving to game, and, when theres so much more out there thats is much more forgiving obv its TS so quality is great, but just saying its viewed as a more demanding club i think. i saw this , and had a good look at it at he show in feb and thought while the shape looked ok, the business of the sole and the very rounded compact shape ddint appeal at all. its just looks hard to hit, hard to like i never think to look at any TS model beceause to me they conjure up "thouhgts of uncomfortable difficulty." -
epon zero epon personals epon zen damn, now theres a bag.!
