  1. I spent the afternoon yesterday at the crazy factory in Adachi ku . i got my new cray 460 head at 197 gram ,and thought rather than put one of combos together , ill take it to the source and see what they say. well i hit everything they had. and the best was the 435 head. , the clubbuilder from Taylor made was in the shop doing some work , and if i got a new shaft they said theyd get him to make my club for,, well they didnt need to ask twice.....! i tried al the differnt shafts, 50s 80s noir sigma, black, u name it i hit it. the money ended up on the new 50 sigma, which has a weight of 83 grams...........! i was speechless. ithought he was mad ,here ive been hitting shafts at 65 grams yadda yadda and the launch monitor clearly stated my best performing shaft was the uber heavy sigma. my average drive was 273 yards, back spin at 225o , side spin at virtually nothing. this was with the 435 head. a head speed at 47.1 m/ps i told them i already had the crazy 80 noir and it was a fantaitc shaft in the ryoma, but the numbers on this LM were saying totally contrary. the differnece i n spin on the heads were the 450 george takei is the lowest spin, the 435 the 2nd , the 425 the 3rd and the 460 the highest. after hitting today, id say for certian that was spot on, today the 460 launched mid lanch with plenty of carry, but it looked like it rolled out a bit as well, the feel is better than all of them the face is huge and square, looks like is i made for smashing the living daylights out of, after one big session today im liking the a lot, its made totally for smashing ,theres no, i mean absolutely no half swings or checked drives, tis full tilt or its an uber slice. i was hititng the ball reayy wel ltoday as wll ,and against the ryoma and yonex , well it was plsnty longer then the yonex ,and i think it was longer then the ryoma, its certianly a LOT more solid at impact , and can swing harder for sure, i learned the ryoma plays best when just smoothed and centered, this thing tho likes to be bullied. not sure if ill play this on a really tight drinving course , but at a cpl of longer tracjks ,i think itll be superb. its certianly super electic, nothing like the epon 102 , more like the onoff with 20 grams behind it, the 460 is a bloody great looking head...........! i love it .
  2. took this out to the game today, didnt game it but played it a plenty on grass range with good balls. also took a cpl of others my ryoma and a new crazy to see how they all stacked up. it was much better than at the range cpl of nights ago with those rocks y get u hit. its length is fine without being a monster, and diespersion was really good. ill gave this next weekend for sure but against the ryoma and cray is still a ways behind. it felt much better, solid was the call from my partners. the shaftt is terrific. i like it a lot, it handled the juice with ease without being too hard or too soft. i can see this as a really solid top end shaft, great feel, very straight , neither high nor low. get one fellas, well worth it. still not sure if this shaft will stay in this head, but ill game it before i make that call.
  3. Nah the queue for that was24 hourslong. No chance of getting in here unfortunatly. Id love to hit the 905 blades .Im getting this driving iro. Tho its out and will be bagged next weekend
  4. i think you need a cpl of rounds to get evey new club wired. ill back after a cpl more rounds , and especially when you have a great driving round u wont ever want to change that combo. its killer , thats ecactly what i have an ill never change that over. it is a littel higher than the FEX i find, but i think thats a good thing as well im gaming that new yonex tom with the bangvoo, looking fwd to seeing what it does with real balls , and maybe on sunday i can get the new crazy 460 out and see how she blows. if anything new beats my epon 102 quadra proto tho ill be shocked
  5. yup its a type of eagle. ................ very rare.
  6. the tourtge were harsh???????? MUST be the shaft ive got the 901s with junk DG s200and they feel good.(ish) cant think of anything worse than those shafts. the heads onthem are endo forged, no way are they harsh. miura 5002.............., now theres a set of blades. epon af tours have a small offest, but u only notice it if u look at a set of miuras next to them yururui flatback, i have these as well, u want soft , knife like blades , sst pured ns sp orange shafts ..,look no further. kyoei v muscle as well. ain nuffin wrong wif thoses puppies.! so many blades...........so little time. all good, just get the one u like the look of at address bec all mentioned are top notch and put NS SP shafts in them.
  7. i think the stock has a more delayed snap, the ball seems to stay o nthe club afce longer and get stung, the proto feels a little more pingy and tighter snap, henace why it feels tighter i nthe flex., and ithink the proto isnt quite so anti left, they might be the same butt inm y book they paly jiust a little differnt.
  8. yes it will.............! thats a great combo. both of them. the epon 102 proto is the one club i own that i positively will not ever touch. its perfect in every way. the yonex , the old yonex nextage from 09 and the quadra fex is one super duper combo, i had this going for a long time. its actually the combo im going to swap around for in the new yonex, the fex 75xs i have sitting dormy is going in there and that bangvoo is going into another head. C, ur going to love both of these so much u wont need that persimmon..........!
  9. 5 months into the yr and several rounds i stil ldont fell like this yr has been a consistant one. what with our corner of the earth moving 5 metes closer to hawaii and half of the course here closed, but i ddi get a cpl of great wet weeks in oz over easter, and played not a multitude of clubs, but a lot more select offerigns. the drivers have remained the same , but with the addition of a ryoma v spec 9.5------ crazy 80 ls noir for most comp days. its not as great as the epon 102 but for consistancy its unparralled. the 3 woods havnt changed same roy cols crazy set up, being rotated with the new yamaha v14 and a shingo spec shaft, maybe the best feeling club ive hit .bar none. havnt gamed this yet, thats on sunday. the irons have been chopped a bit. ive kept the kyoeis in oz bec i play them so welli in hard conditions, i think they suit down under perfectly , andive got so many great irons to play n lush j grass. so the EPON af tours have been re instated, with ns SP blue soft stepped x 8-9-pw and Ns sp orange soft stepped 5-6-7. if i need a 3 or 4 iron i use them form my miura sb02 set. without any problems at all. which brings me to those , wow ,thye really are whats written about them. shafted those with KS shimada tour 120stiff and havnt looked back. just a wonderful worrkable set of irons, perfect of tight lied hard pan or lush rich JP turf. i pretty much rotate these 2 sets now and dont see that changing anytime soon. wedges have changed like underwear. i left those great tourstage x wedges in oz bec the lie on them is like a surgeons scalple , andfor my home tracks , theysuit prefectly. equally with the miura wmfs. the ones im loveing here are the kyoei rafw seris 07 nad 08 hitting them extremely well. they suit the nice fluffy lies we get pressnted each week , wont be swappping those for a long time eithe. the shafts are ns blue X and ns wmf125 either or are superb the wmf wedge shafts are more rigid, the NS blue have more feel. dont prefer either one. putter , ive gome back to the axis 1 eagle or the hiro matsumoto mz-07. they both suit me style well. putting lesson didnt hurt either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! balls are still the XXIO and premium brills. but the srixon z star v and tourstage v10 are hot on thier heels. getting warm here hope the scoring starts hotting up after all the ahrd work and slog in cold wet windy conditions. if it doesnt..... keep an eye on the bst there willbe offerings!!!!!!!!!
  10. oh could u imagine that. somehwere in between the tourstage 703 ltd and the yonex, that pear shape ,hang on, dont they call that a titleist 905 or somehing similar. fro m 2002 ish???????????
  11. fear not, that new pro v1 is a beauty!
  12. the new tourstage 905 look incredible! i like the yonex but the tourstage has got me salivating. epon af tour u cant go wrngwith either. if u like the smaller had lok at the tourstage i doubt if ull stry from there
  13. 45 x 324 x d2.5 perfect specs for me this is ideal
  14. most definatly, the best combo i have to work. id dguess this driver is about 15+ yards behind my others, but its really good to hit short. controlled shaped drives. the feel of the face isnt good, its just spongey but the fact i can wok it and place a drive further than a 3 wood isa great thing. now if epon, jbeam, yada yada made one of these lok out. its 380 but the face takes most of that , the face is stil big, which is fantastic. u dount lok down going gulp i gotta hit a driver wit h ute head. kinda thing its a ver y ver ygood design, just s**ttty materials to look at, no idea of twhat quality went into this but it doesnt feel like a top end driver. BUT PRICE IS EVERYTHING....... and its not in the epon range , so bearing that in mind......... yes its well worth it.
  15. well finished the hit out , long one tonight . hit plenty of balls with this new driver, love the shape of the head, looks really good at address, easy to hit dispersion is pretty tight over all, distance got up there by the end of the night , not as long as the kahooooooooooooooonas but not terribly far behind either. aesthetically i dont like it it looks cheap, really low compared to the big boys, but then agn its a differnt price point to them as well. i think its in the TM callaway mould, cheap but delivers an adequate shot i wasnt under any really mind bending illusion this was going to usurp anything i have now , i was just hoping this could pop i n a spot somewhere that i dont have at the moment , and after tonight i m thinking most DEFINATLY it isi hit about 6 shots off tge mats at thr range with no problems, its like a big 3 wood small driver. its accurate and looks like it is. mines 10* and with this shaft it plays a little lower not sure of face angle but it looks pretty square, and must be bec all night i had lovely little draws going on. i will use the head on short tight tracks, like pete dye courses. or on my local at home where huge smoking raking bombs arnt needed. i think the design is better than the old model , but the older version is better made. a littel dissapointing in the quality , the feel is NOTHING anywhere near the epons, or the p-tune even. its a good head, its got a spot but i wont be gaming this every week thats for sure. the shaft however..................................... now thats got some balls. i love this shaft, its not the electric feeling of the stinger , nor the quadra or esp the crazies. but its gunbarell staright and flight is mid. low mid . can go both ways with ease. but not a lot, very very very good shaft.mines the X and ull need every bit of it, its nowhere near as tight as the stinger or the quadra, its much easier to hit, and just a beautiful feeling. i have a feeling this shaft will end up in another head pretty quickly .and i think i know which one.....................epon 102 springs to mind! This combo isnt the best ive hit but i think with slight mods itll be good. the shaft will end up elsewhere bec its bloody good! the stinger wlil go in the yonex next week, i think the extra zing of this will add a lot . the shaft might be a bit loose for the big fellas out there even the X, i found it looser ill hit proper balls on sun with it and make a better judgement then, but i think its equivalent of a crazy 7.2 or a quadra 75 xs oh its a brilliant looking shaft as well, white iomic x evolution on it , purrrfect,
  16. I use both cant tell them apart seriously i lole the look of the premium brills best from bridgestone buy i tend to hit the xxio more t ive never even read up on them whats the blurb on both of these mo kodding they seem like identical twins
  17. Straight, low, and confident! Its not pretty here tonight at lotte kasai its psssssssing it down actually typhoon coming tomorrow bithered thats what wins me coin! First 10 hits completed against some big names in the driver world epon102 yamaha tour ryoma jbeam hiws it going u ask? Not too bad not too bad at all the shaft is a pro shaft no doubt about it no frills no great diamond feel just solid straight and low like it......., back in a minny hitting some more............ Draw balls endless baby draws getting more solid liking the shaft alot head tho ......, ahhhhh the centre, BIG dufference not good off centre nice out of the screws not very long so far the big boys def more leg drive thus is an accuracy club so far can work the devil out of it witbout a peob easily easily the best fir working....., ahh 7 straight of the middle nice.,, not greT feelimg at all kimda lile the jbeam muted but effective face looks great v triangle shapeframes the ball beautifully looks like its not a pile driver more of an artists brush length def not up there so far but accuracy rigjt at the top miss hit this a lot less than a cpl of thd others an overgrown 3 wood springs to mind gonna try a cpl of the deck
  18. god ive thrown my hat in on wrx a cpl of times , i couldn t stand to read the dribble some times, the utter rubbish, its stunning at tmes, especailly about JDM and particularly about miura clubs ive used 5 differnt sets of this rons and plenty of his wedges over the yrs some are MUCH better than others. the 1957, and the isms are def his top stuff. i agree totally with skip, when u get hold of these they are every bit as good, just slightly more solid as anything out there. they look awsome inspire confidence and feel down right great. i dont care who makes anything as long as conssistancy and tollerances are GOOD. you do get some wishy washy answers from guys. like my sakamotos, ive asked tis guy 19 times about his clubs i get nothing thats printable or decyperable back. but his irons feel pretty good, they should do they are fricken expensive enough.! marketing is golf.
  19. Hey all......., just returned from my oz spectacular mid yr golden week golfingetravaganza. played ONLY links tracks in sdyney in pretty much , horrendous conditions the whole 2 weeks. rainy + big old wind testing times on some ripper tracks in sensational condition (apart form the pools of water everywhere) this post is about BALLS..................., i thought for a change id take bunch of pointy end tour balls down and give them all a good workout , see if i cud pick some differnces and see if my over all ichi-ban ball could be challenged from its 2 yr s championposition, the , premiunbrill. i took the new titleist pro v1...........tourstage v10...........srixon z-star xv............tourstage x-01 mild + soild , of course my premium brills, anda set of dontaed my mr Gocchin kasco kelnot all red fluro spectaculars. hit each and all in very tough conditions , in comp and just practice play PRO V1 (new) LIKED the new ball immensly , after not hitting this ball for a cpl of yrs i noticed immediatly the new feel. its more solid than the old, its longer and it grips beautifully. round the greenits superb, i liked htis ball for a long time but after hitting so many others , i stayed clear of it for a while , the new one tho i thought was great , would bag this no probs . played this in comp at magenta shores and it wasnt the ball that let me don thats for sure! TOURSTAGE v-10 this has been my other ball for a while , from time to time i stray from the chosen path and i go to this ball, i was very keen to see how it went in oz, AND it went superbly. another one of those i didnt really notice anything it did or didnt do well or bad, it felt perfect not hard not soft, juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right, it spins well and it s length wasnt overly noticeablely short or long.. as a go into a shop ,see these first and grab them straight away ball, no buyers lament at all. thsese are right at the top. lovely playing ball. liked it over the pro v1 by a small margin TOURSTAGE x-01 solid DIDNT like this ball, it felt like a a marble on my club face compared to the others i was hitting. very hard, felt to me like i had to really hit the ball hard to get results. spin around the green was good tho, infact very good. on the putter face it was hideous , worst by a mile. as the name say "solid" the staying power of it is tops tho, the ball after a round looks brand new. no marks can just keep playing it i guess its a distance ball. ? the quality of this pill is superb. and its quality is excellent. im still confused how they made it spin when it feels so hard. great engineering . not for me TOURSTAGE x-10 mild Now this puppy is what top end J balls is allllllllllllllll about in my book. beautiful feeling slightly softer than the pro v1 by the smallest of margins , much nicer on the putter face, , whilst driving distance was less by a small , id say just under 10 yards to the super brill champion. (enough to need another club tho!) the over all result on mid irons made this ball just superb to play. if the bloody crows hadnt stolen half of them id be still hitting them now. sensational ball. rate these very very high, better than the pro v1 which i think is its equivalent . prov prob longer and more solid but hte mild is all about inside 150 in my book SRIXON z star XV this has juts been released everywhere, even oz has this now, this has been my ususal alternate ball for a while, its very much like the pro v1 in solidness, but spin i thought was better around the greens and on putterface better as well. over all playability , i think this is hard to beat on all clubs the sum of the parts puts this below none. the catch cry to play a better ball really DOES apply I think. love this pill all round nothing better . others are better in distance, and in feel ,but i dont think in spin tho, or overll playability the ball sits beautifully atop a tee, no need to try and do naything out of the ordinary with this ball it just goes. and goes well. perfect in every condition as well. KASCO -klenot the red devils! Gocchin put these in a bag for me to test out, they are luminous red. VERY starge to look at like looking at a discord against the grass length not great tho, def a lot less than the big boys, but feel wise????????????? well were in another galaxy here. im not joking these feel like hitting marshmallow clouds of salmon eggs. NOTHING is anywhere near the feel of these things i was gobsmacked, i rang tario mid round to tell him how good they felt, on the putter face just like a cotton ball, so nice its like u never want to putt with anything else ever again. makes it hard to go back to anything else after these, but the BIG down side is they really arnt long at all. lik noticaeable short . again i felt i had to go at them very hard to get results, but on the opposite scale to the tourstage solids. yin of the yang IF i played a really short course these would be perfect , or if ur a senior and want smoothnes then i think these would be unbeatabe . they spin beautifully. but in a differnt way they dont back up the just kinda stop like a blob. u gotta try them! just the look gets u in. i love em ,but i wont ever play them in comp. not for me . but softer hitter i think they would suit perfectly DUNLOP premiumbrill MY balls................! i have been orally flayed for playing these things in australia insummer where the greens are like a combo of cement and glass at times . yes the bloody ball bounces in the air on certian tracks at times in summer! but ...........BUT this time in soft conditions in big wind. where the ball was HOLDING on the greens and i mean at NSW, i didnt even think to pull out any other ball. off the tee, they are incomperable. end of chat ! the feel off the driver is the best, the feel off the long irons , the best the feel off the mid irons the best off the short iron tho, this is where they com back to the field. they DONT produce enought grip or hold to be really confident in hot hard cons ,but at the monment they are perfect. not near the TOURSTAGE or srixon or evern the pro v1 in hot dry days , but when its moist it doent matter. they win by a countrty mile the best thing about these tho is on the putterface. after using them and going to other ball i struggle to get that feel back quickly ,it takes a long time to get used to the feel of other balls, but when i go BACK to these afte the other s its like coming home hungover in winter in the rain to minestrone soup, spag bol and a bottle of chateauneuf de pape. just homely! they will remain my balls for the forseeable future, other s dont agree but for me over all i cant displace them, the lenght is NO1 the disperison is NO 1 the feel is ,we ll faagetabarrrrrrrrrrrrrtit no 1 on greens oh yea , ONLY DETRIMENT is around the greens on hard dry days , these ARNT GOOD, in fact they SUCK, but unless u play everyday in that kinda stuff then these win. MY rankings....., driver length ------------XXIO premium brill long iorns length ---------XXIO long irons feel.-------------XXIO mid iron feel-------------srixon z star xv short iron feel-----------tourstage mild iron moveability-------- srixon z star xv putter face-------XXIO "chipability"---------srixon /tourstage v10 "lobability"----------tourstage mild all round long game, XXIO all round short game tourstage x-10 mild depending on days at differnt courses on windy dry days on links id take the srixon zstar xv on no wind days id play the tourstage v10 on softer courses id paly the XXIO brill on short length tracks id play the tourstage mild if i had to choose only one sleeve for a blind day conditions unknown on a rogue course in oz ................., either the tourstage v10 OR the srixon z star xv would get the nod. in JAPAN XXIO premium brill by a mile , no questions asked hows that grab you , what say u all ????????????????????
  20. i got the bushnell 1600 its bloody quick, give a great reading battery life is great. optics, well superb. the battery cover keeps coming loose and ive lost a battery , which pissssed me off extremely. i love it tho, but ill send this back and get another one. it certianly does speed up play, and makes distances in between targets superb to get ur mind on the job. , the bst thing i love is i get a reading from say a bunker to the pin . so i go ok need to carry 142yards, and hit below 162 where the pin is, it makes club choice so much easier. how did play without one?
