  1. wondering what people think of the quality, workmanship ,price agst say the scottys, guage design etc ? i love these putters but cant seem to use them it upsets me greatly. especially the yamada line. any thoughts ..,
  2. oops, yes. indeed. apologies, i stand corrected. doh........,
  3. i bought a 2007 v 4.6 yestreday with the tour ad ev7s shaft and took it out htis morining, this club has a pear shape which i dont really like, i tend to snap hook this shape driver, but didnt seem to do that today. im not really a great fan of ev series shats as well they tend to push too far right on miss**ts for my liking. but i had a very good seshy with this. today its a fantastic feeling head ,just feels differnt. more solid, more thump. def going to reshaft it , and get the quadra in there ,see how it goes ,but first thoughts were i loved its feel , the most solid stable feeling head. and a great sound. just have toget use to the pear shape. picked up the 2010 drivers, but it didnt really suit me eye. theres 2 shapes, a more sleek model, and the updated v spec. but they aint cheap...., wanted to see what the old model did first. 2 more games this wekeend with it reshafted see hs that goes.
  4. ive never looked at yamaha and iwas just informed very relaibly by my club guy, thats this line of drivers is the very best japan has to offer, they were not mincing their words . try yamaha v spec and i asked about a lot of very good names , nope try yamaha was thie rrepsonse, these guys make thier own clubs, they have been putting mine together for3 years so i gotta listen. i know absolutley nothing about yamaha, so pls , if anyones got some info for me love to listen. i like a heavier club , mid ball flight with roll ,slightly open face and 440cc ish is prefeed.
  5. my initial thoughts last night were to go for a yonex nextage 430cc 10* . but i dont think that will work now. . 46.5 is too long. that shaft will go to a buddy. 45' is my length. tks.
  6. gocchin i just picked up a shingo spec roddio and ive no head ot put it in. im after something sepcial, i use the TM burners and supefast atm. and i like that look/feel, my bud, says not to waste tis i shaft on a TM what do u think.. i have hit a bunch of drivers this yr but i really like the superfast.. the on-off head is aparently to light for me.. i wanted to put htat in a 2010 model, so im pondering........,
  7. he says he aint making any conforming groove irons . so prob not. but these wedges are goooooooooooooooood i have the 50 -52--56-58 in them very very good to hit super stopping power . are these the conforming grooves? i have set of the rupas which is his conforming grooves seida line and yes u loose control from close range but not a lot form outside 30 yards. top wedge maker.
  8. hmm, overall i cant beat my kyoei v muscle irons with ns pro 1050 x shafts. for a more forgiving shot then , the on off plus (for an easier feel. ) the fourteens tc 1000 s go well. rehit them on sun and loved them in between a blade anda cavity. very soft feel low flight as well. wedge wise yururi tour for moi. or the vega rafw08 , 3w seems to be the prgr egg has everyone in raptures. i cant beat the royal collection tho. driver.., where to start there. best of the j names i think ive hit this yr is the bridgestone 703. beautiful club. and the TM superfast with fubuki alpha is the best performer. totally differnt style. the prgr gn 502 is lovely but no where near long enough. hows that go...................,
  9. quadra has a low launch to start then has an uplift in the mid ofthe flight to a medium heighted flight, then at the apex it tials over to get small/med roll. the majority of the distance like 80-90% is carry. but def not high. very very very straight trajectory . im talikng hitting into and accross wind, nothing better ive hit. long too can go as hard as u like without fear of ballooning. best feeling shaft by a mile (fire express 65sx) worth the cost.
  10. the on -off are very nice for a cavity MB not much better. around . a bit of offset in them but not too much to upset ur eye. had a hit on sat with those. eassssssssssssssy peassssssssssy. soft and high. i thnk they are a fantastic club , for a higher handicapper or someone wanting to use a 2ndary cavity MB style instead ofa blade. these are perfect. thats what my bud uses his for. 2ndary set. But as a primary set ,and if ur a good ironsman.. id say the epons are a more workable peformer. u wont notice any differnce in quality between. those tho. just the epons are a bit more tradesmanlike.. compared to the on offs which are so nice and easy. the xblade 901 are someting u might want to look at as well. they just rock. MUCH more workable sensational balde iron , very small very and an uber piercing flight.
  11. now heres something intersting that has taken me 3 days to ponder over.., i took the epon back to my clubmaker on fri, (he lent it to me to try )and i said i didnt like it, he nodded in agreement immediatly...., which struck me.. err why did u agree , its the shaft he reckons. ( i have a fubuki alpha in my superfast driver and i hit that very very well , so well thats its become my gammer over the last 2 weeks) ,but im not mad on the feel of the fubuki,i get good distance and good control (so i dont care what i think i think, if im hiiting anything that well then im going to be using it, reagrdless of where my supposed allegiances lie) its weirding me out. (compared to my other shafts the fubuki definatly is not the best feeling.) my guy said i like hitting the blue boards , roddios and the quadras so it wasnt a shock. so. i might add a caveat aboutht he epon in here , that maybe the shaft has a lot to do with the feel of this head. bec i was truly shocked by how far behind it was . but that fubuki shaft was designed entirely for the FWS so im baffled. all i def know was the blue board 4w RC and the tour edge performed out of their skin on sat. that tour edge is a beast! if anyone has played at old orchard,, the short par 4 16th.. 3 wood from back of the front tees. over the water onto the fairway just in front of the green 10yards off the dance floor ,mahoooooooooooosiive(!) i fell about laughing.. my partners werent so thrilled tho esp as one of them sold me that club...!
  12. i had my own 3 wood battle royale yesterday epon af 202 , royal collection bbd type h.. tour edge exotics cb2., with a split decision ......., the epon had a fubuki alpha FW shaft , the royal collection 3w with the diamana blue 73x and and the tour edge exotics stock fujikura.. . i started with the epon, its the new offering and at 75000 yen i was gobsmacked. the balls had a dull thud coming off the face. slighty off centred hits were dreadfull and even the most beautifully struck shots lacked punch. bitterly dissapointing i hit them off tees and the ground and didnt like the epon one little bit. it sits much higher than the other two and the sole looks significantly higher and rounder than its counterparties which i thought would be a great advantage over the other two form the tees , but . bah booooow wrong.. it was the shortest and worst feeling by a long way. i hit the royal collectin next my every day bagger. its a smaller head ,slightly round base and a compact look. its really long ,really low, and really straight. love it , far and way a much better feeling club. next was the tour edge, which was my buddies. hes got 2 the other one was the XCG with the graphite design stock shaft. i found that one very hard to get off the ground (didnt like the GD shaft) , just a too low shot for my liking . the tour edge cb2 was last and joint winner (if not just ahead of the roy coll. ) the face is uber hot. the address is slightly up right leaning inwards looking (like the cobra lv4 look) the stock shft was beautiful the ball flight was mid high , good to land softly on greens and its long , i was really happy with it length and it had the least recoil ,( the face is hot!) the ball literally flies off this thing , i loved it. bagging it tomorrow for my first full round , prefect counterpunch to the roy coll low piercing shots ,the exotics was the easiest to hit off the fariway. and no less long than the roy coll. i rate both the roy coll and the tour edge as equals for differnt types of shots and i was shocked by how far the epon was behind the other 2 woods in both ditance and feel . for the price its an absolute joke.
  13. royal collection 17* suit?
  14. tour stage X-Drive P51-5 9.5 Diamana Blue 73X how abt this?
  15. ive hit the quadras in these heads over the last yr. akira m109 prototype ..diablo tour -..adams a4-..srixon z-tx ..burner tp - yonex nextage ..callaway erc3 ..diablo 10* .tour stage p51 . all the other shafts seem to be ending up in my " what am i going to do with these now bag" ive got in the corner ,the qaudra XS is my perfect shaft ,its got no side bias and it sling shots the ball with fantastic feel , tight dispersion ,and great distance, and the sound is lovely. for me... its well above all these others good shafts . the rombax 6vo5..graphite design DI s...roddio pentacross 6wba..ozik x con machline premium .. diamana blue..ali islei.... kai li.. i just decided to only use this shaft in my drivers as i believe its that much better. all the other s just dont have that xtra zing the fire express does , and i feel cheated i havnt hit the quadra when i come in from a round. i find the rombax the next best shaft follwed by the ozik md7.. then the roddio and the daimana blue the rest are distant behind , yes even tigers new toy the GD DI. files in a way back. as for prefomance in these heads , the longest set up is the adams by a MILE. then the yonex thats a low cannon. the adams hits higher trajectory bombs. the srixon doesnt do it justice i dont think. the callaway was lovely, has great moveability ,easily the best driver to move left / right. the diablo tour was low piercing and staight a gvery good set up. but the head just isnt what the others are . the diablo neutral was a total waste ,short ballooning crap. however with a rodio in it that diablo is good. (go figure.) the akira was a bomber but it had the stiff shaft in it , prob. a little too soft i thought, but terrific feel . just a little too erratic at times. the p-51 is like a worm burner i dont like the head its only 425 cc but boy that thing is low. prefect for NSW on a windy day. so that leaves the TM tp . which i just set up on the weekend. and im hooked. this has been the best all round head on that shaft . i just bought another 9.5 to go with the 10.5 that seems to be my driver , all round super solid . plenty long mid/high flight ( iwas using the 10.5) . ive reinvented the wheel . cant add too much more. its the best. but its exxy. (worth ever centxxx xxx, sorry yen)
  16. i found a 9.5* srixon z-tr shafted with a quadra 65xs fire express in a 2nd`s bin cpl of weeks ago for a great price(what on earth was the seller thinking???) bought it immeditaly.and in a word "bloodysensational", not quite a pear or a big box, the face looks terrific and it launches a lovely mid trajectory very straight shot. and its long. ishioka tom. for its uber test. i have no doubt about the results. and today i found and scooepd immedialty, an on-off 46d 2010 model with a pentacross 65 s ,and thats going to be sundays propulsion device. cant wait. i hit my mates lastweek and its a sensational driver. japan is great so many clubs so little time. differnt styles of clubs but they might just take over the bag. the adams 9015 now has some serious competition.
  17. another sensational shaft i tried yesteday and instantly loved was the roddio pentacross in an on-off head, loved it. ! it seems to have a bias to the left side of the fairway .but no problem going hard at it and the good shots had smoking draw on them . the kick in the tail of the quadra is stil lthe best tho. but im gettting a roddio! and, selling all my GD tour ad ev's and diamanas. theyve been superceeded in my mind. the quadra tho is king and xs is the shaft if ur not looking to bend balls in bubba watson arcs. and....., ive rehit my S in a yonex nextage and its not weak at all., its great just that the XS has a tighter dispersion . both are great , if u need to move the ball around a bit id go for the s.., if u r hitting on long straight tight course then the xs is perfect but when i need to move it around a bit ill go for the s.
  18. sakamoto do the trick? used a few times excellent condition have t o down size my colelction. 15 000
  19. hmmm i tihnk 105-110 mph and i asked my playing partner about tempo this is what he said..., smoothback slow trasnsition smooth down, i weigh 102 kilos and drive the ball about 285+ thoroughrecomend the qaudra ive had it in the diablo tour, akira m109, erc3, and the adams, which now is where it suits best. i have the S in my erc3 now but its not a str8 as the diamana blue 65s i have in another erc3 head. BUT as i sad i can move the ball more, its a great shaft i just bought the S first when i shud have got the SX .
  20. i have 2 qauddra fire express a 65 xs and a 65 s . i use these in rotation witha a tour ad ev6x ive tried them all in lots of differnt heads. this is whats stayed constant for the last 4 months tho. the quaddra XS is in the adams 9015d and for a good reason ,its long , easily my longest driver. i take this out when i m uber confident. the XS gives it such a lovely "sting" its got a much less rubbery feel to it but its got that sling shot feel and it doesnt warp or slide or slice or overly hook. i can shape the ball well ,the movement is not egzaserbated ,i can go as hard as i like with it with total confidence. compared to the S which is a bit softer i can def feel the softer flex, i get a little more shape to my shots with the S but i dont like that soft feel as much. i prefer the XS due to its stiffness . NOW in the diablo head ive put a a tour ad ev6X and this is my straightest driver, its a very stiff , steel like feel at impact. very straight can go super hard and the fade or draw is very small. overall the best feel is the quaddra XS its expensive but i like that differnce it gives , just the ability to hit the ball hard with controlled fades or draws with out fear of loosing it miles. its just above the tour ad but they both have a spot. if i cud have only one id take the quadda and put it in the diablo. but luickily i dont have to make that choice.
  21. can anyone tell me what the palying status of the erc3 is ? i beleive its banned from pro play .. does ht that also mean its banend form ALL play regardless??? ie can i play thi with pals on the weekend and not be labeld a cheat? or it it ciao baby back tothe used driver bin,, coz jeeeeeeeeeeez its a beuty ofa stick
  22. just put the quadra fire 65 x/s in my diablo 8.5* tour head...and took it out on sun to great island. ( i was playing 2 drivers the other being the yonex nanoV with kaiali 65 s in it ). played back nine first with the quadra , my choice very wise, very responsive shaft can feel the ball on the head extremely well, tried a variety of drives from high draws to low fades and the confidence i had to hit those shots was enormous. and when the execution was good boy did it travel , i didnt feel the club leaking and it never turned over uncontrollably, the only miss hit drive went dead straight albeit 2 feet off the ground but the run i got on the ball made up for the miss hit. my thoughts after the nine were this is the best set up ive used and the shaft was superb. (i took a tour ad ev6 out to put this one in) and made a big difference. back nine, took the yonex out for first hit with the kai'ali 65 s in it . the yonex is my regular day to day driver it had the tour ad ev6 in it as well. replaced by the kai ali. BIG difference. the kai ali i cud move both ways but it didnt seem as long as the quadra. (with the tour ad ev6 i had lots of trouble drawing the ball not so with the kai ali. ) but the kaiali was def not as responsive as the quadra , when i went hard at a cpl the difference really shone thru the quadra was much better and much more controlled . i liked the kai ali a lot. more than the tour ads' but the quadra was a long ways ahead of all of them im. im going to change the quadra over to the yonex and put the kai ali i n the diablo to get more distance in the yonex. they are not cheap but boy they are worth it. cudnt recomend quarda any stronger, sensational shaft.
