  1. ah nob san sorry I just did another thread just saw this. yea cudnt agree more. im SOLD on carbon putter shafts all the top dogs getting replaced this year
  2. Ok.. a putter shaft is a putter shaft right ?? yea, well that's what I thought till sunday too. Ive been using 2 of my fujukura tours onewith a DG steel thing the other with a fujikura Made for bettinardi ..... id never ever considered it previoulsy bec id not hit these 2 in tandem but after last weekend it was absolutely different THE same betti tour head with a steel DG and the fujikura was like hitting 2 different putters on different grass! the difference was IMMENSE. the carbon seemed to absorb the shock miles more and was a shorter distance roll and a grippier feel and slowness at the hole, it seemed MILES more controlled with less distance with the same stroke, the steel seemed to jump more off the face and on fast greens which these were the fujikura shafted one was consistently closer to the hole time and again than the steel one, the dispersion was noticeable as well. SO last night I was mucking about with a masda putter with a quadra fire express putter shaft in it. if I thought the fujikura was nice, THIS was amazing, I cant explain in words t he difference, bec unless u hit a few of these u cant know, lord knows till Saturday I ahd no idea, even the loads of Frequency filtered shafts ivce got fro mattas, are nothing. NOTHJING in comapriosn to the new stuff. ive gotta get one.... that quadra one is just trerrrifc. anyone else got one , anything of note ???????????
  3. yikes........... have they been bought by adams who got bought by ??? yee gads they are naaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty. looks like they are on set tho ? which might be a good thing. also some acetone paint remover to take that tourstream nonsense out mighten be a bad thing
  4. its the first time ive ever seent hese so dont shoot me if they have beenout for a cpl of what evers.. but I immediately went WOW these are up my strasse! SORRY No PICS YET,, forgot to take one.. . if not ill try asnd have them tonight ogled them with enormous fondness. smaller, rmore compact . less offset ,rounder. much more "dynamic" than his previous ones. these are ofr the better player undoubtadly. they are VERY reminiscent of the tourstage x- wedge from 2013 in my eyes. thinner sole. similar thicker top line for , what id thin is a beautioful feel. minimal farm animals and text. extreeeeeemly expensive once again, but when your the top of the tree for gridners u can demand the top bucks. im getting a set, not sure of their model number.. maybe chris can help out here..
  5. one of my most " I dont get it set of wdges. last yrs ones were so much more "normal." these are totally different. they don't look like they suit the set of blades they are to accomopany but ,, but..., when u game them they are spot on. and they crisp the ball as good as it gets. crisp ,check ,bite ,stop.
  6. yea.. its 440 cc, mid size ,deep black head which makes it look smaller. face is smaller and rounded elongated t shape hat appears to sit upright at address, thus making it appear to look like it wants to hit draws.. but it really doesn't favour that side. at first iwas a bit scared coming down so much in size from the egg, but really its pretty easy to hit when u hit it a lot. its def not a GI head.. forget the shaft choice. its a really hot face. the ball expodes off the face its like theres minimal cpmpression nad its not a springy feel its a "ting". im not 100% sure but im pretty convinced I get the most distance from this head. and I don't really loose too much when its not centrerd. every time I play it it goes up a notch in my pecking order, its not no 1 .. but its in the A-bags now. I basically use it when im hitting the ball sweetly. it doesn seem to go that high its a flatter arc with plenty of roll aftyer landing id suggest it for lower markers, I don't think its the thing for c-graders . the face is prop too small for confidence.
  7. well..........well................well............ I was wrong it IS a gpx3. checked this morning wow this opens a whole new world of possibilities

  10. is this the current wedge with a fancy coating ? if so .. then ive got the set of these 50-56 60 without the finish these things are spin machines. they have a huge goose neck but they don't play offset, its the weirdest thing. these bite like the best of anything ive ever hit. ns 125 x shafts drive the ball arrow straight nad the yreally really do bite. I hae the shape but love the results. esp on hard pan ground, winter golf here these are magnificent
  11. it was the arc that got me in.. it was a thing of beauty.. shudda known something was up when there was bloody 40 yards difference!!!
  12. NO WONDER................ the bloody thing is nON conforming!!!!!!!! no wonder its sneaky long!!! hahaaah ka-booooooooooooooooooooooooooom ! I guess try the version 2 and 3.
  13. thump fw is GOOD.. but id suggest going a weight and flex down. ive got an egg 15* with the thump 65s....... and ill be blowed if I can get near overpowering it!!!! yea its low launching tho so bear that in mind. id prob not put this into a 13* egg.................................... but for a 16.5* or 17* it wud me all time
  14. ahh yes good question., these two look pretty similar, forgot about that one. dated prob isn't justified, but in our group I get ur meaning!!! well. the agrind is like a compact syard. very similar looks but the agrind has a really distinctive concave face and the syard not so much it looks more square or flat th syard is bigger and loks easier to hit ffrom a tee. the a grind looks like ita for scrath markers and the syard loks like its for over scratch.. that's my take o nthem the syard was more forgiving I think but both are territifc fwds.
  15. AGRIND WITH DIAMANA THUMP. 75 s hmmmmmmmmmm this was a beast. !!!! the thump is NOT for everyone, in fact its prob for the very few. only a 75 s ( I normally use an 83 x in my 3 woods..,)but brother doies this thing pack a punch, im not exactly what ud call a gentle hitter, I like to give I t he pill a bit of welly thru the ball. but man this was asking all ihad. the shape is terrirfc. its compact and sleek, but not like the egg nor the ryoma (which are my irrrpelacable gamers) its DEFINITELY a club for moving about. although ,with the shaft I had in it that wasn't really happeneing...... (suggest something easier!!!!) at address it looks all business, icud imagine shots and (with a proper shaft) id be able to do it no problems with this shape. I hit a cpl from the tee and they were great but the sleekness isn't what id go for for a tee shot. same as the egg (original). the mid high kick on the thump really lends itself to the stronger player for everyones reference.. impact was good ,its not an endo feel, its a muted thump. I found distance too be pretty good. without being in the record league.. the egg and ryoma have that sown up ad infinitum. but it was good . I liked this head.. its a pretty darn good all rounder. much more sao than the origina legg nad maybe even the ryoma. its like a modern version of the royal collection bbd which is a JDM LEGEND HEAD. ID PROB GO FOR IT but im not sure over the current 16.5* egg which is my amex wood( dont leave home withjout it ) but if it were a choice of just one wood this wud be righ near the top of my cosiderations think they did a good job with this thing, I think its prob aimed at the better player. good wood., thumbs ..... UP
  16. WEDGES IM KINDA T HE OPPSOITE WAY AS WELL.., I LIKE REALLY STIFFF 52 AND 56 BUT I LOVE ns 950S IN MY LOBWEDGE. BASICALLY SO I CAN GET FLIPPY AND WRISTY , I NEVER USE THE LB UNLESS IM TRYIOGN TO GET FUNKY.
  17. a standard x can get a bit rod like ive found ,. even in modus, but I was just stoked by these. they kept their dispersion tigh ,but flew higher . great find.
  18. nope.. itried a bunch of the carobn ones and didn't like nay really... these did peak an interest, but not enough to make me run out and buy a set, esp after what I did with the NS pros
  19. gamed these yesterday. I didn t even look at the shafts these had. so when I saw DGs400 my arms shook in contempt hatred and despair! 37.5 inch classic old school jdm I really had no idea what to expect. first shot hole 1 with the pw to 10 feet kinda allied anyfears I had. then the next hole, with 3 balls crisped with the 3 iron , really set me on edge. \ these are NICE. even with those hideous shafts,, these are nice. theyar eplayers irons no doubt, they have a decent old goose neck I nthem , esp the wedges, and the SW is a ping shape or a shingo onoff shape triangle for slicing flops. they play like the most deadly blade imaginable. these are scimitars. my mizuno itch................. has been scratched. I cant wait to seeh ow these go with NS 130s In them I think they still qualify as.... "retro " . no?
  20. If ithought the modus soft stepped were eye opening, then this is nothing compared to t he shock I got from hitting a fubuki 95s carbon iron shaft in a BLADE...! tested the 7 iron of some custom jobby im getting done. with this shaft, I wasn't I nthe least bit concerned with the shaft.................... well until I kept striping the balzes outta it. shot after shot. there is no way, this shaft was made for me..... errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr or is it ???????? considering the love I have for heavier steel, soft carobn sudnt be anywhere near my bag. but I don't lie so I have to openly admit that this was utterly utterly suerpb. it was MILES nicer than the thumps.. its light sure. but its smooth and silky. I was giving it a realy going over and ill be blowed if I cud over power it . in fact the 2 birds I got were with the 7 iron to 3 feet.. I walked away thinking howq on earth can I like both these shafts equally, but ill admit I did. if I was to get a carbon set now it wud be these withjout question. ive never even seen these berfore nor heard of them.. but I assure you if ur doing some carbon reshafting give these a once over before u jump on the more popular bandwagon. I thought they were much nicer than the MCI and aerotechs. they are high but they don't balloon, they launch high sail high and land in a beautiful arc, t hey don't fall dead. which leads me to think they might be excellent in wind. if anyone else has hit them pls chime in, im not a graphite guy. but these have my full attention!
  21. WOW....................... first time I think ive actually done it with brand new shafts . ive had a cpl of sets of modus130 X flex sitting in my cupboard for the longest time. too scared to do something with, I play the Stifffelx and find them absolutely sensational. perfect in ever yway ( or so I thought..!) yetserdayi gamed a cpl of soft stepped 6 irons in farrrrrrrrrking freezing conditions here in a cpl of sets of irons im re doing, the masda blades and the prgr tr500s the trs are a bit light so I had d to build them 1/4 over the masdas, which are heavy. ot get similar swing weights. any way I took them out and hit dozens of balls with them on course and at the range pre game. surprise aint the right word for it. the masdas.. which ARE LOW LUANCHING heads at best.. were like hitting a GI.. soaring high land like a feather on the ground and workable!! I fell instantly in love. the tr500s which are mid to mid lo weren't quite as dazzling , bec they were already mid anyway. but the biggest thing I had was the distance and smoothness of them they are smoother/ higher than the stiffs! im blown away really. they are going straight into both sets this week. and il lbe damned if I don't do the same to the 125s in a set of honmas im getting re done soon. the extra cpl of grams is always welcome for my swing. but the added height, ease of use and smoothness was eye opening, epsicailly in mid winter.. if I cud have got a video and asked 100000000 pepeole what shaft I was suing not one wud ever have guessed it. of course everything comes wit hacaveat. and although the 6 was revolutionary.. I will have to await the results of the whole set when they are done. but if these are anything like the 6 then im done . moral is, don't be afraid to ask a question of ur builder about changing the build specs of shafts, bec it might just end up being striking...... these certianyly were!

  23. With the virtual extinction of any thing even remotely resembling any kind of revews over the last , whenever..... I thought id do one for old times sakes. spose its bec everyone is just so educated these days and has everything that's theres no pont anymore. well this one deserves a review for the one or two guys that are keen on this head I know of.. the grand prIx gpx1 shafted wit ha crazy boron stiff. 45 inch I guess about 315 gram. its not my driver, id never even heard of it till yesterday. took it on the range pre game with ,my gamer of yesterday, the kamui pro tp09 with tataki sx 45. inch bombahh. immedital;y impresed with its relenetless straight drives., time and again, whilst my kamui is a slightly anti left driver the grand prix was arrow straight to draw , albeit it juts a bit softer than I prefer. flight was higher and prob the perfect arc. distance was excellent. ok im gaming 2 drivers today. on course on course things get different quickly. but considering I was hitting this well pre game, I thought id give her a bell to start things off. well 18 holes came and went and 12/14 fairways were hit with it . the two that was not hit was a slice off to the right rough . no issues there. didn't mis s ht fairway by more than 10 yards. and a straight pull into the left rough that needed a punch out but no wghere hear OB nor dead, good results for miss hits I got a draw shape hapening nicely back nine. ,. just a cpl of yards back to centre. with full grip. when I choked down 1/2 inch I did get it to go a bit too much nad that was the one I pulled. lesson learned. distance was OUTSTANDING on centre shots. however.............................................. the gap form great hit to miss hit was monstrous. nothing better illustrated than on 18 when the first ball with a magnificent baby draw hit dead centre and the no 2 ball was hit high centre toe. slight fade shot, but still a pretty good contact. the difference in ball position (same ball ) was close on 40 yards. now that's a hell of a lot to give up . even tho it was on fairway.. I guess.... 40 yards was the difference fro m a 7 iron in to the flag , to a driving iron some where down there near the green. for a chip and a maybe make the putt but prob not. which had me thinking last night on the train home sipping a few super chilled asahi suepr drys. where does this thing stand ? In all honesty, this was bloody good I really liked it !!!! I hit it pure and I loved the shape of it. so I thought back to the diffecerence in my kamui pro, the kamui is a slugger of the highest order, I know this intimately and the shaft is sufficiently stiff to make sure dispserison is kept to a minimum, there is no 40 yard disparities with this one. its all or nothing and I don't miss hit much bec im accutley conscious of its DNA.. this is a formula 1 driver. although I was hitting a grand prix. well the difference is pretty big. heres my thoughts.... the grand prix is a super easy driver to hit. the kamui is a home run hitter. the gp is BIG the kamui is compact but elongated. the gp looks easy the kamui looks all busisness. both go LONG. the kamui doesnt go short, the gp can when not hit 100%. more carry with the gp. miles more roll with the kamui gp is looser, kamui is tight like a tiger. id probably opt for an SX shaft in the GP that might tighten it up a tad and maybe cure the dispersion issue, conclusiioon, if I was driving the ball well ,id never take the GP over the kamui in a million years, but if im struggling a bit for consistency , the GP is RIGHT up there for a super easy confidence building driver. the match with the shafts is just superb, I saw nor suspected no evidence that this wud NOT be a good match with anything that suits the user. the kamui is my prefered driver.. but its pretty much a driver id use only when im hitting it well. the GP is cud shaft up with the same shaft but slightly stiffer and take with me. in case I feel nervy one day. if ur looking for a new driver , then the GP is somehitng that shud get some research. I rate this high.. it cud easily take over my spot as control driver with no issues at all and its sneaky long! lots of thumbs ups.
