Yamaha would also be my choice of brand if I could only play one brand. I love my V201 Driver. Wouldn't change that one. Their irons look superb and wedges I would go for the old inpres x wedges with the unbelievably sharp grooves. Unfortunatly, I can't find a set of these anymore.
  2. do they have any non-conforming crazy spinning ball shredding wedges?
  3. If you clean them after every round is rusting a problem? I don't really like my wedges to rust. If they do rust, do the tour wedges spin much less?
  4. Which of the current yururi wedges spins the most (non conforming grooves)? Yururi Keigekiku Tour Wedge, Yururi Raw Gekku wedge? What about the older CNC Gekku Wedges?
  5. I would really love to try something like this. But I think looks would be an issue. Really don't like how it sits, at least on the pics. The Srixon Z-UT on the other hand looks far better at address to me. If they are as forgiving as the fourteen it might be an option. What is price of the Srixon anyways?
  6. Is there anyone that has hit those? How forgiving are they? LAunch?

I can attest to that. I swing about 100 mph and the Roddio W6BA stiff in my driver seems perfect. I can imagine launch will be on the high side for those who swing harder, but for me it works. Don't see any reason to change (at least for now;).
  8. Hey T., I see in your signature that you are gaming the fourteen HI610h. How is it working out for you? Can you give us a small review? How does it compare to a "wood"-like hybrid?
  9. I never said it's cheap;)
  10. Anything new on the driving iron? Is it available yet? Price?
  11. here is one of many online shops offering it here in Germany: http://www.golfakade...er/264084741536 Over here in Germany Callaway always had a legacy line. But as far as I know it was always geared towards ladies. This is actually the first time I see the Legacy line for men. But the fact that they are only offering regular flex shafts for it makes me think it's a SGI-Driver.
  12. If I'm not mistaken I believe "bogeydog" swears by it. I think he is still gaming it despite the fact having tried numerous options. I think supo67 has also played that head. I only have its successor, the v201 and it's fanatastic.
  13. any difference on these comparing to the ones offered here in Europe? Same name and looks, just cheaper over here than in Japan.

Aren't epons always a little on the high side as far as bounce is concerned? That might be the problem. Try to bend them or let someone grind the sole for your needs.
  15. I know a lot of the media is blowing up the story. I lived in the states for a while and I know how unserious media coverage can be. But I live now in Germany and usually the covarage on serius events is good and honest. Especially on this topic (nuclear powerplants), there is high awarness in the population here. That is because we have been having a political debate on the safety of nuclear powerplants for quite some time now. Long before the events in Japan. The fact that most of the helping institutions are stopping their operations (i.e. Germany, US,...) tells me a lot about the danger in Japan.
  16. For sure the natural disaster had magnitudes that nobody can really imagine. But the reactors are really what concerns me. I am really impressed by the composure of the Japanese people. Sometime I'm so impressed to a point that I don't really understand it. I also understand that it has cultural resons as well. But I'm not sure if that is all. Not sure if it's the lack of information provided to the Japanese people (or maybe to us overseas), but given the possible of scenarios, I try to get as far as I can from the reactors. That is why I was so interested in how Tario (or the people actually living in Japan) assess the situation in Japan. I know how people see the situation over here in Germany. Obviously that opinion is based on the information provided to us here.
  17. I don't have any first hand experience on what is really going on and how dangerous it really is in Japan at the moment. But from what I have been reading on the news I believe the worst is yet to come. My recommendation to everybody would be to get the hell out of there as soon as you can. It really scares the s**t out of me and I think Stew (supo67) did exactly the right thing to bring him and his family into safety. I hope he's doing ok now. I would be interested how Tario asseses the whole situation? Do you guys even consider leaving Japan at the moment? I hope you and your family are still well, T. That goes of course for everybody else.

Not bad at all. I should stop looking for other combos coz this is working beatifully. And the feel is just fantastic. Stew, remember I bought the Adams 9064LS? It performs quite well, but I haven't touched it anymore because it just feels like sh#* comparing to the yamaha. I hit maybe 10 balls or so with it and now it's laying around unused. I think I will be selling it again and not buying any more drivers. I think I found what I was looking for.

I had a 9° head and I can confirm it is really low launch and low spin. For me it was too low launch. I couldn't get it airborne. But I also only swing at around 100 mph. Occasionally I can crank one up. I traded the v201 9° head for v201 10° and I couldn't be happier (my special thanks to supo67). The 10° is quite different in my opinion to the 9°. For me much easier to handle an the much easier to get it airbourne. Have had it for a while now shafted with a Roddio w6ba stiff shaft but due to the winter I couldn't game it. Only had little range time with it until yesterday. Yesterday I had my first 18 holes of the year with it in the bag. I know the driver is geared towards the accomplished players (which I am not), but I find it forgiving enough for a hacker like me. It's the best feeling driver I've ever hit. Soft but powerful of the face. Lovely muted feeling. And the shape at address just suits my eye perfectly. It's confidence pure when standing over the ball. Seems to be a really good match with the shaft for me. Launch is quite high but no balooning at all. The perceived kick in the shaft is perfect for me. I hit it mostly straight with it which is good for me. I was hitting some "bombs" (at least for me) in the 260s in a regular basis yesterday. I definitly picked up a few yards with it. On one uphill par 5 I had my first 300+ yard drive of my life. Still don't know how I did it, but I did. I must have really cranked it up there. It came out at around 315 yards and it was even slightly uphill. And the soil is still soft. If you drive it regularly 280ish you might be better off with the 9° head. But it will be low launch, I can tell you that. At my swingspeed it's a no brainer that the 10° is the better match for me. But if you swing faster I can imagine the 9° head will be superb.
  20. very nice looking putter. love heel shafted putters. that's the only shape i'd ever play.
  21. Just read some news over here in Germany on the Reactor. Seems there has been an explosion with many workers injured. They also already confirmed leakage of radioacive material. That is scary. But according to the government, everything outside a 10 km radius is safe for now. Hope it stays that way. Hope you guys are still doing ok over there. It's nice to be able to read your post, so that we know you guys are doing ok.
  22. Just read the awful news on the earthquake and the tsunami in Japan. My thoughts are with the peoplen in Japan. I hope all of the forum members, admins and their families are doing ok.
  23. Hey Stew, have you had a chance to hit the rafw-05? Have been interested in them since I read a review (http://golf wrx/2008/04/16/vega-rafw-05-and-rafw-08-wedge-review/). Are they soft or more clicky?
  24. Hey Stew, I don't know if I feel like thanking you for doing all these head to head reviews or feel like I never wanna open this forum again because I envy you so much. Hehehehe. Just kidding. But like Spoon already said: WE NEED PICTURES!!
  25. I would also look into the new Tourstage offerings. They sure look good.
