There's a cheap one on EBAY US only US$30,000 for a set of irons. Must have auto pilot/swing mode. I agree with idrive's Car comment. If you have too much money why buy a GTR if you can buy a Ferrari with your pocket change. Above_beyond, what made you buy this gear especially since you're a student? Was it the common case of "it's expensive so it must be better"? I say common because we all have thought that one way or another.

This is gonna be interesting if there are responses from people in the know.. It wasn't til last year I come across a set of honma irons more expensive than my car.
  3. I also still want to try this should it make it's way down under:
  4. Gr8 review!
  5. Very preeetttyyyyy. GLWS!
  6. It is the FE 65XS. Haven't seen Joe Yet.. Im waiting to try this shaft 1st plus I have a couple of house projects I need to complete before the Mrs gives me more coins lol. When you say lower launch just due to kickpoint? Is it lower spinning shaft? I do hit the ball fairly high so it might help.

Stew, I was swinging very smooth with this initially being a blade and trying not to lose distance by hitting the sweetspot more often. I was losing distance though about a club. One game i had to go aggresive with a 7 iron over trees (6iron distance) and the contact was horrible, not a nice sound, off the toe (a third of the ballmark on the shiny part).. found my ball pin high right bunker.. im like hmm I would have been 40yards short with the mp33. So when i started hitting it firm, the clubs really came alive. they are that forgiving but still the consistency of hammer hit rather than a frying pan and knockdown shots are a pleasure to hit. Another thing, doesnt even need a mix set. Up to 4 iron is easy on the deck. 3 iron is a little tougher but scary long teed up so perhaps a hybrid instead. cheers E

but the higher the spin rate the more it will bias to 0 spin axis? ie less sidespin to a wedge even if you tried?
  9. thanks Chris. So far the Ryoma v spec and Jbeam 425 has got me salivating. Just got the quadra today to try out as my 1st real taste of quality JDM. Im sure its a start of something :)

Stew, this is what i use with KBS. I have not used the kind of irons that you do but so far this is the best irons i have used. The design is kinda cheating as it is way too forgiving for a blade with added meat towards the toe. Very sexy looking and workable. I loved the MP33 but the mp68 is much better. Another thing i will add is this is like butter with the DGs shaft but feel clickier with KBS. I prefer the performance of the KBS but like the feel combo with the DGS300. oh yea and it is so slim sole so you wont have any problem like the epon model you sold :)
  13. Thanks Chris, is this selling as head only or it has a stock shaft option? Any demos going cheaper?
  14. I'd say stick and devote to one during the championship :) I can't find this head on the pro-shop to get an idea of price.

Wow Stew.. so many toys. So if you have to go play 4 day successive rounds out of town and can only bring one and a back up, which will they be? Ryoma/Jbeam?
  16. Hey Bill, very nice review! Does the jbeam 425 have a stockshaft? I keep thinking it's the bangV 787. How much did the new toy set u back?
  17. There's something in this definitely. My Hybrid is suppose to be a 3iron replacement but weird as it is 18*. So i put an ozik altus at 40.5" to plau liike a #2 hybrid and this thing is sweet 240y off tee and 220-230y off deck. Only problem is it made my 3w redundant and kept my 3iron in play. Hence my search for a 15* that will beat this hybrid & earn a spot between driver & hybrid.
  18. What an awesome Vid & Music too! I dont even speak Japanese! Do i just search Genki Sudo?
  19. Great review. It's very helpful to anyone considering the Ryoma so dont be bashful :)

Nice review Craig and sounds like you're getting so much consistency and some yardage gain. It is the head along with the Epon 102 that im dreaming about. My wife just gave me an incentive to sell her car as she doesnt need it and buy my 'head' but i think i'll sit this out for a bit until I can try the quadra shaft 1st.

This is very pleasing to hear rather than the doom & gloom from the world news. It's exact same type of reporting that stopped me from visiting my hometown for 25 years and when i finally braved it, i felt so relieved and at the same time felt such an idiot.
  24. Hey Chris, there is a thread on quadra shaft fitting. Also depending on your build, how long you been playing etc, hcp, you could get faster since you are young and may easily fit into the S. SR at the minimum. At 105 i got the 65XS on the way. Post on the shaft fitting thread with answers to the form and there are quite a few experts that will help you. Eric
