  1. I've been on the Sun Mountain bandwagon pretty much exclusively.   I lived in Montana so it was sort of a local company for me. I still think they make the best waterproof bags.   Obviously nothing to brag about but for me waterproof bags are essential for playing in the winter months.  Been tinkering on the thought of getting a PRGR bag since I have a set to go with it but haven't found a design that I like yet.

  2. Those are very nicely taken care of.   Other used SUS316 on the market look like crap :)

    Problem for me with nice flawless irons like that is that its too nice to put in play.   I'm too worried about putting scratches and nicks.  😞

    So these days I am using more moderately beat up stuff.

    GLWS!!

    This has shaped up to be a good set up mate. Will this be the 2022 bag?

    Actually my 2nd bag.... I intend rotate the sets regularly.

    My Primary has a bit more focus on forgiveness.

  4. Update on my "mostly" PRGR bag....    RS5 fairway replaced with Epic Speed 4w.   Unfortunate but I enjoy hitting the Cally more.

    TR500 irons are very smooth and soft at impact.    May have to do a head to head against the GR Forged.

    TR500 I feel has a smaller sweet spot compared to the Tourstage GR Forged.

    I lose more distance with the TR when I miss the center compared to the GR.

    I need to go hunt down some PRGR Wedges.

  5. Thanks for posting your test data!!   Glad to see that you were able to find what works for you.

    I am surprised that 115X and 120X were similar for you.    My understanding was that 115 were a lot more stout than the 120 series.

    Modus 120X CPM is supposed to be really close to the Modus 105S

    My experience with the Modus 120 S is that it is comparable to other R shafts ( from a flex perspective that is )

    Anyway...  my desire to try the 115 has diminished for the time being as I am switching to Regular shafts in my irons and to my understanding,  Modus 115 do not come in Regular flex.    Project X LZ 5.5 were my gamers but I just reshafted my '12 Tourstage GR Forged to 5.0 shafts and they are further soft stepped x 1 .    For my PRGR TR500 I just installed a set of SP Red in R1 flex also soft stepped x 1 .    Previously I'd thought that these regular flex shafts will do me more harm than good ... but this time around,  I feel that they are going to allow me to swing easier with my irons thus improving my accuracy.   I test them out today after 3 weeks of near by ranges being closed due to snow!!  Fingers crossed!!  🙂

  6. Happy New Year All!

    Last year I diligently kept track of all my round stats.  So now I can set goals for improving them in the coming season!

    My golf stats goal for 2022!!

    • 2 putts or better:  92% -> >95%
    • GIR:                        56% -> >60%
    • Driving Accuracy:  68% -> >70%
    • Score Average:       77.5 -> <75

    From a play perspective, I need to spend more time practicing around the green shots.

    Green side bunker shots need to get a lot closer to within 1 putt zones.

    As for equipment,  I need to try and stick to a single set for my actual rounds.  Obviously I'll still play around with other sets occasionally for fun.

    What are all your golf goals this year?    🙂

     Nobs maybe beceause  the  heads have been   flattened a smidge ?  , have  u  checked that ?,

    i  only say that bec  i got a  used set a few  yrs ago  from my  pro  source guy that were 2* flat ,  he said  as most of the tr500s wud   have been bought  by  A grade+  players who dont like to hook ,  that stood to reason.  that set  i got were quite noticeably flat to the naked eye , too flat  for me, so i  had  them put back 1*   even that small  adjustment  made a discernable difference  to the eye at address. esp in  the  longer irons.  (3/pw)

    oh btw........, in case u get tired of those  NON JDM !!!!!!!!   shafts, may i WHOLESOMELY  reccommend   you try the old    NS  SP red...........................  and do those heads justice!!!!!!!!!

    those shafts, are so ABSOLUTELY, positively  LIGHTS OUT!!!!!!!.

    im tempted to  re do  a bunch of  irons  with them and just play those going forwards, getting tired of muscling up  each game with the blues and  130s , 125s are still my go to   but i digress..,

     RED are lightish,  115ish  g +/- with just the hint of workability with a mid balance, lower  kick  for an easier   higher flight  , and they play  strong for  a  light shaft .why- o -why did NS stop making the  SP  range   !?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!

    I don't think the heads have been bent.   It's just the offset is so much less than what I have been playing lately.  Slight adjustment was needed in my swing.    With the GR forged I've been trying hard to not hit it left ....  that same swing with the TR translates to hitting it to the right.   When I go back to a more natural swing,  the TR500 draws just right for me.  So I am now rethinking about whether offset in irons helps me out or not.     Project X shafts work well for me based on a fitting I did 2 years ago.   With other shafts,  I was not getting enough back spin.   LZ gave me good back spin which helped me hit more straighter shots.    On the other hand,  I have a set of Monaco S sitting idle and I know how those work in TR500 since I've tried Cuistot's set a while ago which I believe came from you Supo.   Exquisite feeling combo that thing was!!

    Just curious how the PRGR bag and this build build is working for you.  What driver have you settled on?

    I've got two PRGR drivers that I can use with this set.   '16 Tour Issue RS and a RSF Proto Single Clover

    I've shafted the '16  with a Tour AD PT High Mod 6S  and the RSF Single Clover with a Loop GK.

    5 Wood is RS5 with a Loop FW6TS ...

    TR500 irons 4-PW

    Wedges 50 & 56 Cleveland RTX4 Forged (JDM)

    Gold's Factory T102

    Irons are shafted with Project X LZ 5.5 now but I don't think these are the shafts.   Will be tinkering further.  🙂

  9. I've owned and played a few forgiving one piece forged irons in the past.

    While I am not particularly long with my irons and I can play blades all day long, but I actually prefer to play irons with a lot of forgiveness without sacrificing feel and sound.     I'm okay with sub standard (weird) looks.   They just need to be really easy to hit.

    To name a few that I have tried previously:

    - Mystery WNC710

    - Fourteen TC-340

    - 2012 Tourstage X Blade GR Forged  (current gamers)

    What others are out there?   Maybe the original Egg Forged?
