damn I want one of these! wonder what a good head option for one of these would be.....
-
wow talk about quality! Chris anything in the mid 70's gram weight wise for a driver?
-
this finish on an armsgain would be stunning!
-
any idea who makes the nintendo headcover, would love to get a Yoshi Green Driver!
-
the original gun blue was ment to wear then i assume? how flashy is the DLC? the flaming looks nice.
i guess i should ask, what it does to the softness. i see all the different softness numbers for each finish on the armsgain website.
gold is softest? then DLC; then nickel; then gun blue?
-
just when i was all set on the standard black, i see the diamond like carbon!
-
looks like they are back in a big way! some amazing looking stuff there!
-
damn it, why don't they make a 3 or 4 iron?! what is one supposed to do there?
they do make a 3 and 4 iron, this set was obviously only ordered 5-pw.

So it's more a matter of the look at address, if I'm reading this right...? Does it help someone whose miss tends to be left? And would it cause even more of a push to someone whose miss tends toward the right?
yes, more so a matter of looks, but also...
not really, because in reality you are supposed to "square" the face up at impact, really simply reducing the loft.
i guess technically you could aim left not square the face; and let the open face do the work and you could have a nice power fade that should land middle/middle-rightside of the fairway.
this might be hard to understand...but think of a closed club face, say 2* closed, on a 10* actual loft stamped head. if some weird way you were to square that 2* closed face to exactly 0* neutral you would in effect be adding loft on top of the 10* true loft....does that make any sense?

Looks like another awesome club from Ako-san.!
PS. For those of you who prefer an open head design, can you describe why? Thx.
two things;
first is simple and thats optics, i hate looking down at a shut face, pure and simple.
the playability standpoint is with a club say 1* open, when you are squaring the face at impact you are effectively reducing the loft of the club by that degree....

What does the Y stand for in Y-Proto?
The 440 is perfect for me. A-Grind has got it going on!
i would assume whom its made for, in this case the "Y" is for Yasuharu, as in Yasuharu Imano
-
I think there are a few reasons, the first could be confidence while over the ball but the other could be necessity as flatting a head out for a more shallow profile could make it appear larger. Who knows but this is a limited club designed for a very good player so it's not really meant to appeal to the masses. It's also got a very open face for a stock club.
i know optics are big...
and yes that is the main reason i am looking forward to this, 1.5* open is awesome

the only thing that seems a little strange and this is maybe due to translation, but why would you want a 410cc driver to appear as 460cc? does not make too much sense to me, everyone tries to make the 460cc appear smaller, this is the exact opposite...
i can live with a shallower face, but hopefully they dont mess with the optics on this head too bad...other wise it will be the deep faced 440 for me.

Opps sorry for the late reply, yes 350g!
no worries, and the standard length is 34" so 34" 350gram if we just get the off the rack spec from them?
will go ahead and place my order in the online store!
-
Chris,
anyword on the headweight?
-
what is the head weight? i know the standard length is 34" is it safe to assume the heads are 350grams?

there has been lots of back and forth on these many years ago when they started popping up here and there, again I do not want to rain on anybody's parade, but as I mentioned earlier as well, to echo Chris' statement, there is something fishy about these and the whole origin behind them. I am more than confident they were blanks stamped titleist and not of the highest quality...again just long standing speak that i have read/heard about them
-
pretty sure they are not miura and they were never really an endorsed titleist release.
-
if all the guys that have hit either or both of the zero had a choice what would you choose?
is the original still better?

With so many great drivers out there don't waste your cash on George Spirits.
Their whole goal is to make clubs on the cheap and sell them high.
TSG cut their account, George Takei broke off with them for the same reason.
well that certainly put a quick end to things, glad to have it straight, thanks for the info!
its odd that he (George Takei) keep leaving his own companies and starting new ones though....

Chris,
care to explain the differences in the grinds?
what is the hokkaido sole grind?
what is the w grind?
-
those irons look damn perfect to me! would hard to say if they are a blade or more a players CB similar to the A Grind R1 CB - which look obviously way more CB like!
