  1. Do these count?
  2. Nice! Did you stumble in also?? :)
  3. Just an update. I was notified last week that my shaft should be completed on the 23rd so the Quadra FEX WBQ was pulled and the 435 was shipped off to 7D for mating. We're getting close!

Chasing unicorns again huh hutchy! However, I do have a set of 4-pw (38" 5iron) that I might be willing to let go of...................but.........they have a set of nearly new cabretta Gripmasters on them that I'm not willing separate.
  5. Interesting stuff! My 435 is on it's way to 7D and after hearing that they couldn't hook your shafts, I'm really excited!

Loft and face angle on the jBEAM please
  7. With that much play, I wouldn't expect copper to last very long at all. I "only" get in about 100 rounds per year and our sandy soil wreaks havoc on nice finishes in no time.
  8. We golf year around so that number seemed normal to me...lol

Maybe I just sold mine for WAY to cheap!

Would it be greedy or wrong to have two of these?
  11. Hmmm...I wonder why?!! ;))
  12. Lol, I heard that was missing. My 435 hosel doesn't have a plug either but it also has 3 weight ports to make it really easy to position the hot melt.
  13. Hot melt can go anywhere but it's easier with an open head design or if there are weight ports. It's simply a specific type of glue from a hot glue gun injected into the head the allowed to settle then dry in a selected area depending on where the player/builder wants it.
  14. Lol, my specs are so crazy that nobody is willing to experiment to those extremes...and I can't say that I blame them! My results work for me though. :)
  15. I'm weird to begin with but I felt the same way. Maybe I've just gotten too used to the feel and sound of a filled 435 because by all accounts the T.388 is one of the all time best...
  16. I agree, it's a done deal. Keep in mind that while Stew will wear you out on the course, it's The Baron that you need to worry about after hours. "Let's stop in here for one drink" turned into two and a half bottles of Jaegermeister!!!
  17. Very cool

I've got an unshafted head waiting for you...

I played the Wilson Duo (softest compression ball I know of) for one hole. Felt amazingly soft off the driver and every bit as long as any premium ball. Hit my 9 iron on the next shot and turned to my buddy screaming "where the f**k did that go?". He looked at me puzzled and said it's going right at the hole where you hit it. It was so soft it felt like my club went right underneath it and I skied it...no feedback whatsoever! Got to a 12 foot put and that thing bounced off my putter like a superball from the grocery store gum ball machine leaving me an 6ft come-backer to save par. It behaves the same way with chips, just launches off the club at super slow swing speeds.
  20. Does the hosel even allow full access to the crown? If not there's no way to even foam this head. The inability to increase head weight is the reason I backed off my intentions of buying...

Taylormade Tour Preferred X is my gamer but ProV-1 X is always a good backup.
  22. Wow, someone will jump on these!
  23. Ah yes, my Zen...been in the bag since the day she arrived! As far as the ISI, Ping announced about 10 years ago (around 7 years after the last wood clubs rolled off their assembly lines) that they would no longer repair any of their wood clubs. When they did that I had my friend (one of Ping's tour reps) dig around their factory and I got 1w, 3w, & 5w back-ups. Those babies are still tucked away in 100% virgin state!
  24. A bst thread got me thinking as most people claim that "a keeper" is the holy grail that will never be found. So is there such thing as a keeper? If you buy into American marketing then there's no way. If you're a "ho" then it's not likely either. But I have to think there are a few of us that have found true keepers on rare occasion. I'm a relationship kind of guy so once I find something it's hard to get it out of my bag. I may flirt with a lot of others but a break up is the furthest thing from my mind. When it comes to drivers, I've had two keepers that have been in the bag the majority of my 17 years of golf, the Ping ISI Tour and now the 435. The ISI Tour was still in my bag until around 2010 when the I10 finally replaced it. I flirted with the Rapture for a bit but never got it dialed in like the ISI Tour. Even then, the ISI Tour 3w stayed in the bag until the TM RBZ finally proved to actually be longer. And now...I just don't see anything kicking the 435 out of the bag. I've seen some good looking drivers and flirted with a lot...but again, I just don't see anything causing a break up. Another driver that doesn't see much bag time but I'll never part with is the Ryoma D-1 V-Spec. So maybe I've had 3 keepers when it comes to drivers. Anyone else able to really find that "keeper"? Oh, here's a pic of my first keeper just to prove she's still at the ready.., ;)

Yeah, I think the chrome plating is was makes them feel that buttery softness you describe. The softness of the Yururis is there but hard to describe. It's a feel that I've definitely grown to prefer and I believe offers better feedback. Because of this thread, I just oiled my Flatbacks for the first time in almost 2 years!
