  1. ah...lol...so you're saying it seems stew wants you to believe the club has been victim of grave circumstances and you won't be getting it back. in all my interactions with stew, he seems pretty honest so if he says it shattered from sub zero temps in the cargo hold then was accidentally buried in a lava field...well i just have to believe him!!!
  2. for me the quadra wbq is the best shaft i've found so far for the 435. the 435 rewards you the more you go after it and the wbq is the first shaft that EASILY keeps up. i hit every fw today and when i decide i need an extra 15yds and swing for the fences it still keeps me right on line without me worrying about it. as far as distance, i think the ly-02 can probably stay on the wbq's heels but i have to worry about an occassional pull/hook...and wouldn't dream about hitting a fade. the wbq feels slightly better than the ly-02 but not quite as good as the original fex, but it is more accurate and workable than both.
  3. thanks for the review arthur. with all the positive about the 388 i really want to try it...but at the same time i can't possibly imagine anything out driving my 435/quadra wbq.
  4. ooh nice, been waiting for a 435 vs 388 showdown!
  5. lol, i developed nerve damage in my hand last year so my recent iron build is senior specs too...graphite shafts with super spongy winn grips. but it's knocked the symptoms in half so i'm happy!
  6. i didn't know there was a 435hi and i can't imagine anything longer than the 435...a hi-cor version would render most courses obsolete!
  7. was thinking about it in a 388 but knowing how good the original ryoma was the maxima does have my interest. but that might mean i'd have to give up one of my 435's...and i'm not sure i'm willing to do that!
  8. if it's high kick, then that would explain the lower trajectory...
  9. my new fav is the quadra fex wbq. it seems to intuitively do anything i want without me even having to ask.
  10. i haven't decided if i'm going back for thanksgiving or christmas this year but if it's the latter we'll definitely have to play again! be sure to let me know when you set your dates.
  11. lol, we both had off games in hawaii. but after you let me hit your 302's that day, i had to find a set...and i think i like them more than the personals!
  12. damn, wish you wanted to trade for a 52!
  13. nice bag...as always! funny that the personal blades are a "back-up" to your 302's. ;)
  14. i forget how raw steel is supposed to behave since i live in such an arid climate. i haven't oiled my yururis in months, maybe since last year...and not a hint of rust!
  15. at one point i might have used the latter excuse that i'm stingy when it comes to buying new balls but one of my patients is a tm rep so i get premium pentas/lethals for $19/dozen! i do think a scuffed ball effects performance but i don't think i'm good enough to see that effect. i just won the first tourney i ever entered playing the same ball all 3 rounds. anyways, i think the biggest reason i play a ball as long as i do is because it pisses off my playing partners! hehehe!!! ;)
  16. oops, nice but i was thinking full caddie bag not stand bag. glws!
  17. lol, like i captioned below the pic...it's not the power but the consistency! i seem the ball on the tee with the arrow pointing down my target line just like i do when putting. this causes my driver to impact the same place on the ball each time and ironically this is exactly where the ball gave out. i wonder how many more rounds i could have got out of it if i placed the ball randomly on the tee?
  18. the 435 is the king of the hill...and i could almost justify having 3 of them since this one is white!!
  19. best feeling irons i've ever played...which is probably why they almost never show up in the bst. someone will be lucky to snatch these!
  20. lol, i wish i had the swing speed of a few members here!!
  21. no, not because it's face is so hot that it split a ball open...but because it kept this ball in play for over 7 rounds!!! poor thing finally gave out on it's 8th round but still managed to give me a bogey with it's dying breath. ;)
