Yamaha RMX Driver Scan Thread!
This is more of a question than a comment: I think maybe slowly but surely that almost everything will be eventually made in China. But does that necessarily have to be a bad thing? Can Japanese OEM's mandate higher spec's and tolerances to Chinese manufacturers, especially for higher-end lines? And more importantly, will they be adhered to? I would think that as long as Tourstage, RomaRo, etc. do not accept inferior quality product from their sources, consumers can be confident that they are getting the best-made products in the industry. This would, of course, still cost more vis-a-vis the USDM product but there are plenty of people around the globe that are willing to pay a premium to know they are getting close to perfect gear with great tolerances.

George Takei of George Spirits leaves George Spirits...
I think that putter I bought with his name on it, although feeling a little "clicky", rolls the ball as well and straight as any putter I've ever used.

2013 TourStage 709 MC Thread... UPDATED w/Review
Old thread but thought I'd update after ample time with my experiment. I finally settled on the 9-iron and PW from the 909MB, the 6,7, and 8-iron from the 709MC, and 4 and 5-iron from the 709CB, sometimes subbing in a Srixon Z-uti 3 and 4-iron. All with Modus3 shafts. (Srixon have the NS 950). This set flows seamlessly from iron to iron with all having very similar profiles and sole grinds. Had to play around with a couple of lofts, but finally got the distance down where the gaps are perfect. Just a degree or two up on the CB's is all that was needed. Now I've got a set of laser-like short irons, precise middle irons with a hair of forgiveness, and point-and-launch, easy-to-hit long irons. The perfect combo set for me. All with similar feel; solid and informative. And all with almost identical turf interaction, like a set should be. I've seen some combo sets where nothing is similar except the manufacturer, I can't imagine how that'd be enjoyable. Like a grab bag of irons you'd see in a bargain bin where nothing looks or plays alike from iron to iron. Anyway, loving it so far. Hope to use it for the year, but haha we know how that goes. BTW, anybody need some 709CB short irons or 909MB long irons? ;)

distance 3 woods....
Nobody hitting the RomaRo R-type long? I hit that longer than my XV 3-wood with the stock shaft. The RomaRo has a Tour AD MD-7; doesn't feel as nice as the XV, but puts a serious spanking on the ball.

2014 ONOFF Drivers
Good choice then. The TPRX will flat-out give you performance and distance.

2014 ONOFF Drivers
The TPRX is a great performer but if you're looking for the feel of Yamaha or Epon, you're not gonna find it here IMO. More of a hollow, metallic feel with the TPRX. Never hit an ONOFF driver.

Saw a photo on WRX from the Sony Open where somebody had these Limiteds in his bag.

2014 Yamaha CB Tour Model Thread!
You sure you didn't photoshop these pic's? haha wow, these look way better in your photos than in all the others I've seen of them, way more face progression in your pictures.

Yamaha 2014 Tour Model RMX MB Thread!
Let's talk about that center cut-out and bump at the end of it that you mentioned. Is that to take some weight out of the head and put it back in at the toe I presume? Does that mean it'll be a little more forgiving on toe-side misses or is it just a way to center the COG because maybe the hosel is heavy? It's a beautiful iron regardless, would be on my very short list if I was in the market. Ahhh, what the hell, I probably will be once the Christmas bills are paid and the weather warms up a little. But it WAS 75* today, what am I waitin' for? lol

Wedge Recommendations
Have you looked at the Mizuno MP R-4 in the Pro Shop?

taylor made tp r9 irons
I played a set a few years ago. Great set. One of the last good sets TM made IMO. Check 'em out. BTW, your avatar piccy is Mauna Lani South #15? I used to always be there or Mauna Kea this time of year…….ahhh, the good-old days.

Welcome to 4K Video
Miuramaniac replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI saw I think an 80 or 100-inch TV at Best Buy earlier this year with 4k. Best damn TV picture I ever saw. They warned about lack of content, though. Hopefully it'll take off and some will be available. Guess for the moment I'll have to settle for my 60-inch Elites. Still the best picture I've seen, other than the 4k, on any of the big screens. That curved stuff looks pretty cool, too, although I haven't seen it in person. Just don't care for the overly-bright, reflective picture a lot of them like Samsung are putting out.

what wedges are good for my bag
Gap your wedges by distance, not loft. Some wedges nowadays may say 46*, but with a really low CG may play more like 48* on full shots. Get your yardages down and try to gap each wedge 12-15 yards on full shots, regardless of the number on the bottom. I see guys all the time get obsessed with 4* or 5* between wedges, then have crazy distance gaps.

Pretty similar to the Tourstage MC709 maybe?

The 2015 Lamborghini Huracan shows its face!
Miuramaniac replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearStill a bit angular and "added-on" looking but much better than their other recent efforts IMO.

Taylormade Japan 2014 Lineup - Gloire, SLDR 430 TP etc!
I want one of those 430 SLDR TP's. Do what you have to to reserve one for me please. Probably the 10.5 or 11* with the Tour AD shaft in S. Just send it to me, whatever the cost. Thanks.

What is the best feeling and longest irons you ever tested?
1. Miura 1957 small blade. By far the most solid iron IMO. 1b. Yururi proto. Best combo of soft and solid. 2. Epon 702. Cannons, but way too clicky. Rocketbladez are actually longer but not JDM. 3. Miura small blade. Incredible ball speed off those little things, just a bit demanding.

Best Forged Cavity Back 2013?
I'll put my vote down for the Tourstage 709 MC.

Craig's Buchi Clubs Finished!! Lots of Pics!!
Congrats!! The best-looking set from top to bottom I've seen in a long time. I like a little meatier top line on a small, non-offset head myself. Can't wait to hear your review on these bats!

Recommendations for FW and UT heads
If you're truly a whore for RomaRo, y'ain't gonna do better than the Type R FW's and Type R utes. Those FW's spank the snot out of the ball and are easy to hit.

Sound of the TRPX head - how to mute it
I hate the sound/feel too. I think I'm gonna try the cotton ball route. How many does it take, do you have to basically fill it up? It's the only driver ever that performs so well for me but that I don't love making perfect contact with.

ONOFF CB-247W LaboSpec Wedge!
I kinda like it at address. Has that Miura PP-9003 thing going on, sort of oblong at the toe.

Thinking about a GF putter
Thanks for all the info, guys! But as I expected, there's too much ish to think about as far as PZ Premium or horizontal or multi this and that for me to be able to make a decision. Probably just gonna stick with the boring old Cameron. Maybe I'll write in "-San" after Cameron on the bottom of it and I'll feel better about it.

PRGR Egg 3 and 4 iron utilities with metal shafts
I've no exp with Eggs but I've always preferred heavier steel or GD Tour AD 95 gram ute shafts. Much better feel and accuracy.
