  1. A lot of discussion on this question on golfwrx thread. Apparently, there is a 110 msi, which is the equivalent of 80T, and a 125 msi, which is the equivalent of 90T roughly. There is a Titleist version that is 125 msi, and apparently the same shaft, even though the mark up would make it less expensive than buying the aftermarket shaft on it's own. there was some concern that it wasn't the same, but some people have spoken with their Aldila contacts and insist that it is. The difference is cosmetic, as the aftermarket shaft is a matte finish with laser etched graphics, and the Titleist one is glossy without the laser etching. These shafts supposedly play stiff to flex. People are really loving this shaft and raving about it, but these aren't guys who are used to high end JDM shafts, so I really don't know if it is any better than what we play here. Hope to try it at some point and compare it to my Crazy, Quadra Fire Express, and Diamana X shafts.

Just got the shaft and hit it on flightscope again. Very smooth feel, tight dispersion, mid launch. The color is so cool. It is a strange, almost glowing white inside, when it is exposed to UV light outside, it becomes an ice blue. If the sun is out tomorrow, I will take a couple of pictures inside and outside and share. Hope to get outside next week if the course opens.

So what I am hearing is that you didn't like it? Just want to make sure that I didn't misinterpret your thoughts.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have been fooling around with Veylix shafts, and have been impressed with the numbers they produce on Flightscope. I am withholding judgement until I get outside to play them. I started last year by playing the Veylix Alpina in my SLDR 430. I hit some huge bombs with this combination, but ultimately the SLDR head was just too penalizing for me on off center hits. I broke the shaft in my Callaway XHP 3Deep a month ago on a golf trip, and needed to reshaft it. I was actually happy to have an excuse to buy a new shaft. I tried 4 different shafts with my club fitter, and the Rome 888 produced the best numbers with the tightest dispersion. I have never played an 80+ gm shaft before and so maybe this suits my swing. It also lived up to it's reputation as a low launch, low spin, fade biased shaft. I didn't hit one hook with it, which is amazing for me. After this experience, I decided to try the Rome shaft in my Cobra Bio Cell + driver. I have a UST Chrome 6F4T shaft in it, and have been pretty happy with this combination. The Rome clearly outperformed the Chrome shaft, mainly in the dispersion category, which is one of my main needs. It felt great as well, smooth as can be, but was a little low launching (12.5 degrees on average). The fitter told me to try the Arcane, their flagship model, and it was fascinating how it performed exactly like the Rome, except launching 2.5 degrees higher on average. I bought it then and there. It doesn't hurt that the Arcane is the prettiest golf shaft I have ever seen. For those who haven't seen it, it is a pearl white that turns ice blue in UV light; absolutely spectacular. I hope to get outside next week if the course opens here. I will give an update after getting both clubs outside.
  5. I thought that the Crazy LS 80 series was a full length 80T shaft? Did I get that wrong?
  6. Can you give us some information on this shaft?
  7. Looks interesting. Curious to see what it is. I can't even come up with a good guess.
  8. As a lefty, I probably don't get a real vote since almost none of these come in left handed. But if I were right handed, it would be the Epon P2 and the Yururi Flatbacks.
  9. My Ryoma is much higher spinning than my 435; 2700rpm vs. 2200rpm, but on the course, it is much more playable. I think we all get a little too obsessed with getting the lowest spin combo possible, and what we give up to achieve that, isn't necessarily worth the 10 yards. Just my opinion.
  10. Is the blackout a minor upgrade to the regular 435 or significant? My only issues with the 435 is that the sweet spot seems small and the feel outside of that sweet spot is average at best.
  11. I am surprised by the fact that I can get used to any style of putter and not notice a difference in my results. I prefer mallets, but putt equally as well with: blade, anser style, or half mallet. I kind of bought into the fact that each of these putter styles match a certain stroke, but I really can't notice a significant difference in performance when I play with each of these. I also thought that toe hang vs. face balanced would have to be important, but again, I can't say that I putt better with one than another.

Can't help you, but just wanted to say that I love my Epon 210 wedges. They are really underrated. Great touch and feel. Only negative is that the spin is average.
  13. Oh how I wish they made these in left handed. Cleanest looking club around and just love the simple stamping. If I were right handed, I would buy them in a heartbeat.

Holy cow! You make me look like a Saint.

Actually yes, that does make me feel better.

Unfortunately, the mail/UPS etc. comes while I am at work. They are all quite familiar with golf boxes by now. My sons are very jealous and wish they were left handed so they could use all my golf equipment; I bet that is a first!

Well I couldn't help myself. A left handed Yamada Razor in Burning Copper finish came up on eBay and before I knew it, I had already bought it. I thought it would be nice to have it side by side with my Burning copper Musashi. I think I am developing a problem. This will be hard to explain to the family.

I haven't seen a Gold's putter that has look that really appeals to me yet. While I know they do excellent work with very tight tolerances, the putters themselves just don't grab me. Just a personal taste thing.

I don't care as much for his newer putters. They seem to be more like every other putter and have less of that personal touch to them.

I can't believe you guys have me considering buying a club that I wasn't even interested in. You are a bad influence!

Really? You think I should grab the left handed one on eBay, just to hold onto it? Is it that rare?
  22. Mob replied to Mob's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Really? there has been a left handed razor on eBay for awhile that won't sell. Not my style putter.

Congrats, hope you like it. I agree that Saumurai was priced pretty high.

Agree, but maybe a Gold's refurbish project?

Let's see some pictures of some of them.
