  1. Thanks, I definitely mean a more compact but still forgiving iron. I have played Epon 702s then moved to PXG 0311 Gen 1 but I am looking to upgrade this year if it makes sense. I like the smaller size of the PXG vs. the larger Epon 7 series but the 505s look interesting to me and also want to see what else is out there.
  2. Has anyone tested the Epon AF-505 vs. PXG 0311P (I know not JDM)? What other current JDM offerings would you guys recommend for a forgiving "players" type iron? Thanks
  3. Anyone have any more information on these?
  4. Apparently a 705 is coming out, but I got nothing else other than that -- started a new post maybe people in the know can provide more info
  5. Anyone hear about or have any info on these? I wonder why they skipped the "704" if the "705" is really launching soon...
  6. Just saw this.. going to do a full fitting at a shop that has both. Also wait to see what Epon comes out with.
  7. Yes, oviously subjective. I need to hit both with the same shaft to really compare. Found a place that has 703s and PXG so will test that out next week. Appreciate the comments. On a side note no matter what they tried their hybrids could not come close to my Ryoma U utility's!! The guy was shocked at them.
  8. The PXG lofts were 1 degree stronger. I did hit them straighter but it was such a dull feel vs. the Epons. I need to try the Epons with the recoil to see if that helps. Are the 703s a nice step up from the 702s?
  9. I play AF-702s with Fujikura MCI 100-S and got to hit PXG for the first time today. After going through some shaft combos I was hitting the 0311XF 10-15 yards longer with a regular Recoil 95 F4 with less dispersion (no MCI there for comparison). At face value it seems PXG was a clear winner but the PXG did not "feel" as good as the 702s and were chunkier at address. Almost reminded me of AP1s. While the numbers do not lie, is it possible the shaft was the winner here vs. the club head? My fitter said the MCI 100-S was a bit too stiff for me. Should I check out the Epon 703s? Kinda want a new set but not at the expense of feel or performance. I will say I loved the PXG 56 wedge. I am an 11 index. Thanks!
  10. Did not feel weaker to me, and it is pretty light. Love the shaft/club combo as recommended by TSG.
  11. My Glorious stock shaft has a CRAZY sticker on it. Will try to post a pic. Edit: Here it is:
  12. Thanks for the input, it makes me feel better. Maybe its a little in my head. As for the 901, the 19/22 is 40"/39.5", maybe I should just reduce that to 39.5"/39" and the set would flow evenly in 1/2 increments. Would that matter or be a waste of time and money?
  13. Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the site but I figured this was the best place to post. I am trying to figure out the best length/setup for my irons and have had some difficulty. My current build is Epon 702s w/ MCI 100 shafts at the lengths listed on the Epon website. 5 Iron is 38.5 down to SW at 35.5. This seems to be about 1/2" more than standard? I am 5'10" and while I have gotten used to these lengths they still feel a little long. I am hesitant to cut them down though as that could be a very expensive experiment. I also have 19 and 22 degree Epon 901s w/ MCI 100 at lengths of 40 and 39.5 (also standard via epon) that I am trying to use as 3i and 4i replacements. They set does not really seem to flow as they are 1" longer than the first step to 702s. To summarize: 901 19 - 40 901 22 - 39.5 702 5 - 38.5 702 6 - 38 702 7 - 37.5 702 8 - 37 702 9 - 36.5 702 PW - 36 702 AW - 35.5 702 SW - 35.5 Does anyone have any suggestions or tips? Thanks!
  14. Hi guys, My first post here is a WTB one. I am looking to buy a set of either 702s or 701s. I am located in the USA. Please PM if you have a 702/701 set and are looking to sell. Thanks!
