  1. This is such a bomber, good luck with the sale!
  2. Beautiful wedge
  3. Thanks, I discounted that I would be able to copy/paste the PDF text into Google Translate, should have done that. Thank you for your help!
  4. Anyone have any top crown-view pics and profile pics of the CRZ-UT. Trying to see if I can get a view of the club from address to see the shape (and bonus points if anyone has a Romaro Type-R UT or regular Ray UT to sit side-by-side). Would love to hear thoughts on this as well. Thinking about augmenting my back and throwing one in to replace a 4i on those cold winter days where I need more carry.
  5. Awesome to here, good luck with the round and thanks for the mini-review! I am selling my Maxima and going to go with the 1-2 punch (Crazy 435 - XXX D for now).
  6. Crazy, as we all know, makes some very impressive, high quality shafts. The confusing part is all their offerings. It seems on their site, they have a nice hierarchy/workflow to be able to narrow it down. Unfortunately I do not speak or read Japanese, anyone have a translated version of this (or willing to do so and maybe post on the forum)? http://www.crazy-shaft.com/common/pdf/ShaftSelect_Chart.pdf
  7. Looking to buy either a black Crazy "Cross"-style headcover (I believe released in 2010) or the "Skull" 2012 black edition. I am in California, US for shipping purposes.
  8. Posted a review of my 4 drivers: http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/topic/35542-trpx-d-031-v-crazy-new-450-v-crazy-435-v-ryoma-maxima-type-v/ tl;dr: The TRPX is very similar, if not just as long as the 435, better overall feel/sounds/build quality and potentially a tad more forgiving. Its almost like the Maxima had a wild/crazy night with the 435 and out come the TPRX D. Very very hard to pick between the two and both are the best overall drivers I have ever hit (out of the 4 JDM drivers I have ever tried ;)
  9. As mentioned in some threads, now that I have all my gear, I wanted to post my thoughts. This is my first jump into JDM gear and you honestly cannot go wrong with ANY of these drivers. They are all top notch in terms of quality, feel, distance, tolerance, etc. Just steps (very large steps) above USDM gear or anything I have hit in the past. Comparing any of these is tough (like comparing super models). The Contenders: Ryoma Maxima Type-V 9.5/Longest Yard 01 6.9 - D2.5 Crazy "New" 450 9.5/Longest Yard 01 6.9 - D2 Crazy 435 9.5/Longest Yard 01 6.9 - D2 TRPX D-031 10/Messenger 1st Stiff - D2 My Swing (based on a PRGR Red Eyes Personal Launch Monitor): Average Swing Speed: 90-94mph Average Ball Speed: 135-140mph tl;dr: The TRPX is very similar, if not just as long as the 435, better overall feel/sounds/build quality and potentially a tad more forgiving. Its almost like the Maxima had a wild/crazy night with the 435 and out come the TPRX D. Distance: The 435 I believe still is a tad longer than any driver I have hit. I had a PRGR Red Eyes with me and the 435 had slightly higher ball speeds than the Maxima, 450 and D, though the D came in second out of that list and on any given swing, was just as long. The D also seemed to have slightly lower ball flight than the 435 resulting in a tad more roll than carry but equal distance. Feel: This is where the TRPX D rules. I feel that the Maxima is too muted, the 435 a tad tingy (unless you hit it on the screws, then it is the best feeling out of any driver), the 450 really lacking here while the D feels soft like the Maxima but also gives you plenty of feedback. I didn't get the same feel I do off of the 435 when you nail it, but that is hard to find. Sound: The TRPX is more muted than the 435 and 450 but not as much as the Maxima. I wish it had a slightly higher pitch to it, something between the D and the 435. Build Quality: I think the Maxima's paint and build is top-notch, closely followed by the TRPX head (if not the same or better). The Crazy heads are cool, just nothing special in this category. Forgiveness: The Maxima is tops here, but I found the 435, D not too far behind with the 450 there as well. I think with the 435, its risk/reward and I got slightly more forgiveness with the D. Launch: For my swing, the Maxima is medium flight, 435 & 450 slightly medium/high and the D medium to medium/high. I feel that the Messenger has a slightly higher kick-point than the LY01 and is a tad tighter. Summary (my lame star system - out of possible 5) Distance: 435 (*****), D (****), 450 (****), Maxima (***) Feel: 435 (****), D (*****), 450 (**), Maxima (***) Sound: 435 (****), D (****), 450 (**), Maxima (***) Build Quality: 435 (****), D (****), 450 (****), Maxima (*****) Forgiveness: 435 (***), D (***), 450 (***), Maxima (*****) Total (Earned/Possible): Crazy 435: 20/25 TRPX D: 20/25 Crazy "New" 450: 15/25 Ryoma Maxima Type-V: 19/25 BTW: The Crazy Longest Yard 01 and Messenger First shafts are AWESOME.
  10. Awesome flat stick. Slow play would ensue just by looking down at it. Beautiful...

I was able to get the new 450 last weekend and went to a range with my Maxima Type-V as well (both have Crazy 6.9 Longest Yard 01 shafts). Will write a larger review on both of those and the TRPX D-031 once that comes in (and I can get in front of a decent launch monitor to get some #s). Little about me/my swing: I am a fairly consistent ball striker (i.e. miss high/low on the face versus toe/heel). My swing speed is low 90s and high 90s if I step on it (prior to baby #2, I was in the low 100s and single-digit, so there is some of that still in there somewhere ;) I swing is on the smoother side, less than parallel to the ground and I tend to have some wrist breakdown at impact which causes a cupping and higher launch. My average distance now is around 250-260 (depending on impact, fairway conditions, etc). Maxima Type-V v. New Crazy 450 (based on my swing): Performance: Distance is very comparable when I hit both on the screws, the Maxima might have a slight edge in forgiveness but not by much. The Crazy 450 is definitely more deep faced than the Maxima which I like and a more traditional shape. I feel like I could go with either one and not sacrifice distance, though the Maxima is more forgiving on toe hits (didn't miss much on the heel with either). I have found that spin on the Maxima is a lot lower for me, so carry isn't as long as the Crazy (roll-out seems to make up for it) and it was harder to hit draws/fades with the Maxima (more point/shoot). Mainly because the Maxima spun lower, I found dispersion was tighter but I think I lost more on low hits on the face than I did with the Crazy. Look/Feel: The Crazy's sound is way too loud, metallic and the feel is harder than the Maxima. I am definitely not a fan of those aspects of it. While with the Maxima, I think the sound is too muted for my liking but the feel on the face is spongy, but I don't get a ton of feedback on mis**ts. The paint on the Maxima seems to be higher quality/glossy and has a wonderful look when the sun hits the crown. The Crazy has a sleek look but just not as pleasing as the Maxima. Overall: I think both have their merits (Maxima with forgiveness, look/feel slightly over the Crazy), Crazy (deeper face, carries longer than the Maxima, easier to work). I need to get used to both before I really make a decision, but I do think the Crazy slightly out performs the Maxima and only has drawbacks on the sound/feel. Next up: TRPX D-031 (and potentially after that, the 435II).
  12. Gorgeous looking FW & 1W...
  13. Anyone hit both the D-031 and S-031 and see major differences in feel/forgiveness (I know there will be spin and launch differences due to the higher CG-deeper face on the D-031). Wanted to just get others perceptions on both heads - seems like many are choosing the S-031?
  14. Thanks T! So pumped, the shaft details and both heads look amazing... great photos as well.
  15. Fair enough. I am going to work on the patience to let it go and see the raw look in the end. At least worth the try.
  16. I had some Titleist TVD black oxide wedges that looked pretty beat up finish-wise after only about 2 months of playing. Loved the soft feeling but wasn't a huge fan of the finish (especially next to my shiny MP-64s :) Would have gotten the plated version, but looking for a 60 and didn't want to bend it. Will try the other tips to get it to look somewhat new again once it gets some wear on it, etc.
  17. Awesome, and that post is making me hungry as well... :)
  18. I have a BOLD wedge heading my way (non-plated) and wondering if anyone had any extra tips in maintaining the raw finish to not rust (as much as possible) beyond just keeping it dry?
  19. Can't wait to hit the D-031!
  20. Looks awesome! Ahhhh, to be on a beach or golfing in Hawaii right now...
  21. Tario, any chance to take a pic comparison of the face depths of both the Maxima and S-031 side by side to get a comparison. Liking the setup of the Maxima and wondering if the S-031 would setup similar.
  22. 4A & 4D, twilight, no paintfill, w grind.....ooooooooooh yeah

Ah, feeling lucky then. Thanks Tario for putting me on the list :) Can't wait to hit it this weekend!
