I have a Crazy FW80 7.4. What you got to trade against ?

Fellas, Really appreciate all your advice, keep it coming. Any and all is very much appreciated. I play D5 Swing Weight so that softens the club up a bit too and my transition is slightly aggressive so sounds like the X will be just perfect. I might have to rethink the 7.4 Crazy but I like buying and trying as much as playing so the ho in me will be keen to try the slightly heavier Crazy Noir CB80 LS W in 7.7 if the one I have doesn't work out. Other shafts on my must try are the Waccine GR77 SX and BangVoo 787 X. Thanks again Matthew

    I thought a Crazy 7.4 was the equivalent to a Quadra X, both accommodate a swing upto 110mph ?
  5. This shaft looks to be a beast :) I'm usually picking the stiffest they have now I'm only a F3 :( The ho in me is sure to get one though ;)

I found the Epon 103 9.5* even with a Motore Speeder 6.3 TS Stiff (253 cpm) to be lower launch than the Epon with a Motore Speeder 7.3 TS Stiff (260cpm). This was on a launch monitor. I concluded from this that difference was because the Epon 103 was 9.5* and the Epon Zero 10.5*. The only other difference is that the Epon 103 is D6 while the Epon Zero is D5. I love the look of the Epon 103 so you guys have me thinking that I will give it one last try, this time with the Quadra Max WBQ 75 X. The order is being shipped so hopefully will arrive this week, I can them get them built at the weekend and review them next week. So going with the following, all D5 and 45"; 1. Epon 103 9.5* & Quadra Max WBQ 75 X 2. Modart D 10* & Crazy Noir CB80 LS 7.4 3. Epon Zero & Motore Speeder 7.3 TS Stiff 4. Jbeam 535 11* & Quadra FEX 75 X.

Excellent write up. Thank you. How did you find the WBQ in the Zero compared to the Epon 103 ? I also have an Epon 103 9.5* but I find that too low launching so it is up for sale. So to conclude, the Max WBQ launches higher than the original FEX ? The WBQ should be easier to turn over too ? That's interesting as I would have thought it would have been the other way around as the WBQ as a reinforced tip section. That changes my plan, I will try the Original FEX in the JBEAM 535 now.
  8. Hey all, Being new to JDM and in true ho style, I am building a nice collection. My latest purchases are an original Quadra Fire Express 75 X and a Quadra Max WBQ 75 X. I tried the new Quadra TP-V 75 S and the flex wasn't right for me. While I haven't ruled it out totally in an X, I thought I would go with tried and trusted first. This is where you guys come in, please share any experience you have with these shafts. I still have to decide what goes where as I have the following driver heads to choose from; * Epon Zero * Modart D 10* * JBEAM 535 11*. Thanks in advance and if you are going out today, good luck, it is dangerous out there ;) Matthew

There was love early on for the Jbeam 425 but the Epon Zero came back strong. A true clash of the Titans :)
  10. mpuk replied to mpuk's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Okay, the consensus is that the Jbeam 425 is more forgiving. Anyone have a 10.5* JBEAM 425 for sale ;)
  11. mpuk replied to mpuk's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Can anyone quantify how much more forgiving the Jbeam 425 is to the Epon Zero ? I hit one out of the heel with the Zero and I was surprised how far it went. Anyone with launch monitor comparisons between the two ?
  12. Went with the ONOFF CB358 Labo Spec. From what I have read, the latter will be more forgiving and play softer than the Miura's. I just need to decide between Shimada Tour Lite and the Shimada Tour.

So from what I am reading, the Epon Zero and Jbeam 425 are very similar in; workability, penetrating ball flight and distance but the Epon Zero feels and sounds better. Based on the above, the Epon Zero wins ?
  14. One driver is never enough ;) Often thought of sporting two in the bag. One fade bias and one draw bias in order to cover all bases off the tee
  15. No longer looking as from what I've read and been told, it might be too low launch for the Modart 19* hybrid head it was going to go in. I will be trying the Quadra Utility X first.

Original Quadra Fire Express found and Quadra Max WBQ 75 X on the way also. Fingers crossed these work out better than the Quadra TP-V 75 S.

Hi all, I find smaller heads so much easier to turn over and get that perfect baby draw so I wondered which is better between the Jbeam 425 vs the Epon Zero ? I'm smashing the Epon Zero with a non JDM shaft (Motore Speeder Tour Spec 7.3 Stiif. Plays 260 CPM @ 45" to D5 with 5" clamp) but my swing coach advises that my 157mph ball speed, 12.6* launch and 1800rpm spin would get more distance with a degree or two extra launch. I have a Modart D 10* with Crazy CB Noir 80 7.4 LS and Jbeam 535 11* with Quadra Max WBQ 75 X coming but might find a spot for a Jbeam 425 as well if feedback is positive. Cheers in advance Matthew
  18. Those numbers are with a pro v1 on a GC2 launch monitor so they what I hit on the course
  19. I'm lucky that even with a 110g shaft my spin with a 6 iron is less than 4,999 rpm. I think the Shimada Tour Lite feels fantastic but with a launch angle of 20*, me thinks I need to get that down? My stats with the Shimada Tour Lite Stiff and Project X PXi 6.0 with a 30* six iron are; Launch - 20* Ball Speed - 127 Spin - 4,600.
  20. DG, Project X and KBS dominate the U.S. and European tours but what about the Japanese Tour ?
  21. Hi all, Can anyone pass on any words of wisdom to help me decide. The Miura Giken combo 5005 (4 to 7) and 5003 (8 to PW) with copper underlay and w grind and Shimada shafts seems to be as good as it gets at the moment. I say that because I like the combo idea and copper underlay together with a w grind offer distinct performce advantages. I was going to match with Shimada shafts, still deliberating between the tour and tour lite but again, on the face of it, Shimada seem the best out there ? Any help would be appreciated. Matthew

The original FEX is the way I wanted to go over the TP-V but couldn't get a 75 X. I'm going to try the Quadra Max WBQ 75 X next

Thanks fella for your advice. The TSG guru's suggest giving it more than one round before I move on too. Very strange as I was having to do everything I could to keep that face square to open and not go left. Do you have any experience of the original FEX and can compare to the TP-V.
  24. mpuk replied to mpuk's post in a topic in Want To Buy
The new TP-V in 75 S feels loose to me with my 106MPH swing speed. I thought it would be a good fit being soft butt and tip stiff for my slow tempo and slightly quick transition. I thought I would give the original FEX a try through in 75 X if anyone has one for sale ?
  25. The MAVC80 in the 260 comes in at 69g so why not give it a try. Let me know if you have one for sale ?
