  1. We have a lot of customers who love the original and some of these guys have tried it all. I can't say if it's better or not for sure unless I spent more time with it. imo modart woods are something special.
  2. Sounds like your asking because you already know the answer... To answer your question, yes go ahead it would be my pleasure.
  3. I'll have a write up on sunday for you, I hit it for about 20 minutes on a trackman at Modart HQ. 5cc bigger new face material sp700 more forward CG matte black softer forged cup face The only thing adjustable about it is you can swap shafts, no loft/lie/fA changes.
  4. Clue: It's very expensive, it's handmade, it's made of a combo of 80T/50T in Japan and not outsourced. I think no one will get this...
  5. That's right, all you need to do is guess what brand this shaft is from (not the model) and you will get 100 store credit at TSG. Good luck gents!
  6. 577 is the series name 507 = 50 517 = 51 527 = 52 547 = 54 567 = 56 577 = 57 587 = 58 607 = 60 777 = 64* Also for those on the fence we have only 2-4pcs each loft left. some lofts more but If you liked extra spin, perfecty soft but not mushy feel and performance superior than the cold forged vokey these are it. ( oh yes all low bounce ) 8*. In smoked cooper and no logo they look so good! but imo standard satin feels the best.
  7. The gang has spoken we have just started a 64*. You sure you guys don't want 65? :) So to save time, we are using the same basic shape as the 577 series and making it from scratch at the factory with a different logo configuration. It's not based on a new 64* mold but a 60 worked over to 64* then the leading edge and sole grind adjusted so it sits as it should. Miura did it this way as well. conforming or non conforming grooves? Imo non confirming is perfect amount of spin in this particular wedge/material/design.
  8. we actually hired a company to run the entire contest and select a winner, the winner has been selected and they are preparing the announcement. we had a few thousand who entered, I think we need separate contest for the community with better odds. Anyway announcing soon.
  9. I really liked both myself, especially the Egg1, such a powerful trajectory and straight!
  10. I have faith! I believe in 10 years it will be over 200! At least!
  11. 2 in the front up close to the face, 1 deep back.
  12. We can easily bend to 64* but haven't tested how it would play.
  13. Not a problem and we expected some to enjoy the blast art while others wouldnt, so a good portion of our custom series heads have no logo whatsoever. Here is a pic of one pre grind being stamped:
  14. We have 4 different models of putters coming. If you count the stamping variants 7 different putters. One of them is made using the "Hizukuri" forging technique, heated by Kobe wood and coals then forged and bent by hand/hammer using a hundred year old Anvil... not kidding. Photo of the prototype being made only a few weeks ago.
  15. We do have conforming wedges coming but they have a rather "extreme" grind on them. sneak peak...
  16. I shanked this one too, now holding for at least 7-10 years...

You guys think the Vizard slices due to it being to soft or too firm?
  18. Thanks they are just another option in the endless sea of killer wedges.

Introducing SEVEN 577 Series Wedges | Creating wedges for the most part is an easy process but for SEVEN and this particular wedge it was 2 years in the making, We needed to work directly with the foundry, grind house, and finishing company this is essential to us to control every variable for now and into the future. No manufacturing agents were used to produce our products as many brands do, every detail is extremely important to us. For those of you not familiar with SEVEN it's been a brand that has been very secretive on TourSpecGolf we needed to establish the proper foundation to create designs consistently and to our standard, and that standard is very high. We pull from the collective feedback of our most discerning customers and listen to what our target player truly desires. The result is this... Japan Forged of SS400, what is SS400? It's very similar to S20C just measured by Tensile strength instead of carbon content, so why did we use it? We found it produced more spin combined with non conforming grooves vs S15/20/25C with the same groove design. It's feedback is mild soft not mushy nor firm and the pro players who have tested it gave it's impact feel the thumbs up. Compact but not tiny, thin top line, near zero offset with a slightly high neck transition making it a good balance of precision and forgiveness. For months we went back and fourth on the spacing of the grooves and the distance between the leading edge and the first groove, in the end the only way we could produce the most spin without compromise was to produce an entirely new mold + pattern for non conforming grooves so in other words we won't be making any money of this wedge but the bottom line is it was done to our standards. No stamping on the sole, no Made in Japan written on the neck, just a brand name, 3 digits and a blast art logo, we don't have to explain much else. The grinds are progressive we took some of our favorite wedges and after many months of testing came up with what we consider the most versatile grinds for nearly any turf condition. The lower lofts sit straighter and rock open less than the higher lofts, the higher lofts remain stable and flow through the turf without opening up too much or too little. We feel it's just the right amount of trailing/leading/heel/toe relief and as our first edition we can save the extreme designs for later. Let's talk options, you can choose your paint fill but also we have a custom series that allows you to select any finish and opt out of the blast art logo. We can bend before the finish has been applied this is un heard of and only found at the manufacturing level. Copper finish? Black Boron? Satin with a Raw face all not a problem in fact we offer more than 10 different finishes to choose from in our custom series. Shaft options? Only the best of course, Ferrules? While not shown in this image the standard ferrule is a single silver line high quality Japan made sleeve. Name stamping with custom paint fill with a colored ferrule, black shaft and matching colored grip... OK! The above shows a higher neck transition which we preferred over a lower especially from the rough or sand, this is not only good for the amateur seeking more forgiveness but also the professional women and men who helped us test, when I say professional we do mean players who hold JPGA Tour cards. Low Bounce Design, they are all 8* of bounce. Depending on where and how you measure bounce any brand can fudge the numbers, we could have easily said these have 10-12* bounce but to create a uniform process to carry into the future with all our products we decided to measure it dead center using a particular method that our factory advised. It's indeed 8* bounce and works really well even in soft, wet, sand conditions this was a surprise to us but not only was the performance of the higher lofted wedges better with a lower bounce the leading edge sat the perfect distance from the ground when set flat. So there is a brief introduction to our wedges, we appreciate any support you can give this new brand, we believe in what we are doing and are trying our very best to create products that don't compromise our high standards. Everything is is hand made in Japan we do not use one factory to produce everything our mold maker is different from our foundry who is different from our grinders who is different from the finishing house then assembly, modifications, refinishing and options is handled by TSG Club Works. 20. That rep is gonna rep... Where is the prepreg from? Who does the weave? How many axis? What degree for each axis? Rating of the 80T ( glass/resin ratio ) etc.. This is all the stuff USDM brands try to avoid while Japan brands love to explain and highlight. But imo we need to get off the 80T is better thing. TSG heavily marketed the 80T trend but like all things once it's hot everyone else picks up on it. If this goes on there will be 100T, so much more goes into a shaft. 40/50/80T/Pan60/ etc.. none are better than the other as it all depends on the application and design. Many brands simply pick weave patterns that have worked in tthe past and test until one sticks. Most Japanese factories don't speak so highly of using 80T in shafts, the question is Why? It's like Boron, Why? There are much better high elasticity materials that maintain their shape just as well and feel much better and are more durable. Same thing is happening with DAT55G, it's a Japanese material but all of a sudden there are several new variants from China & Russia.
  21. I think just touching them with an oily hand will start the patina process.
  22. No idea, I don't know anything about Aldila to be honest. Most of the time I stick with brands that produce their own shafts in house using their own factory. I don't mind if they buy the prepreg elsewhere.
  23. +1 I'm in the same boat, I have tried most dedicated wedge shafts but end up using what I have in my irons, could be mental but I find it more consistent in feel, I also don't need the extra spin as I use wedges with grooves that shred. MjrD with your speed and depending on your angle into the ball do you zip the ball back with wedges that you have gamed for more than a year? If you can produce big spin with worn grooves you really don't need the spin.
  24. Perfect for a refinish! Please post price.
  25. Geotech's original Muso line featured better materials than shafts that cost two to three times more, this year MUSO is taking it a step further with a full length 80T shaft manufactured by Triphas who owns Basileus. Best of all the shaft is only 625 bucks. I gotta say this is what happens when Japanese golf companies create new and improved materials or technologies, you begin to see more brands adopt the tech then the price comes down and more new designs become available. I still have yet to see expensive high end materials make it to the states in retail models.
