  1. If your looking for Japanese forgings at a reasonable price one must not overlook Geotech Golf. I'm always amazed by this brand as they release dozens of new models each and every year with no signs of slowing down anytime in the near future. This year the debut of the 2013 GT series was the big deal starting with the new GT Forged W-213T wedge. Available in 49/52/56/58/60 degree lofts with bounces ranging from 5.5 to 10 the W213 wedge also has spin the Geotech claims will rival any top leading brand and surpass most smaller companies thanks to their background and experience in golf club design. I can second this as I've watched Geotech design with a focus on details that create performance . The W213 wedge is now available and in righty and lefty. Best part is your getting a stunning Japan Forged wedge for 105.00 found here at the TSG ProShop. Next up the new I-813 GT Forged another offering that is priced aggressively, $450 bucks 5-PW heads only. Geotechs focus on dialing in things like the center of gravity, moment of inertia, gravity angle and depth and specific measurements for top line thickness and face progression it's clear that these not only look the part but probably perform it as well. This I-813 Forged iron is made of S25C for a medium softness feel. The new Geotech D-0939 comes in two versions conforming and Alpha spec which is non conforming. Geotech has been recognized in Japan for creating a simple and effective weighting system that carries through a wide array of different models from irons to woods and even putters all using the same weights and wrench. It's 450cc's large with a deep forgiving face with the 9.5 loft coming in at a square face angle. On top of the new GT Forged models that are not only extremely attractive * these pictures don't do it justice, you must see them in person... There is also the GT Limited Series, These are limited edition models slightly up market with a focus on big distance non conforming style at least the irons are although they do offer woods in a conforming version. Even the Alpha spec can withstand high swing speeds in fact Geotech used both an ultra sound device and X-ray along with lots of hard hitting testers to ensure durability and enhance the ultra high resilience in the face. What's cool about the finish is it's crown is painted in a special semi-transparent black. I haven't seen it outside in the real yet but hope to soon. The stock shaft is the Motore Speeder by Fujikura with custom Geotech graphics. S15C Japan Forged! Hows that for pure and soft feel! Very few irons are produced of S15C. It's a players iron with a thin top line and just the slightest amount of offset, Geotech has always had good balance between appearance and performance. There has been no compromise in the manufacturing of these irons with a distinct focus on CG placement and consistency of it's location throughout each iron.
  2. It's a normal production model I believe.
  3. No ship date yet, this wedge is in massive demand. No country will get their fill in the first batch. We are hoping the first orders to go out this week. Key word is hoping! Will post an update very shortly here.
  4. The percentage of customers that went ZERO and sold it right away is pretty high. Only a couple of guys keep it around and its still not as a daily gamer. T.388 on the other hand we have customers who are on their second head and wouldn't give it up for anything. I just happen to be in that same boat as well. It's much more user friendly and get's loads of roll.
  5. In it's stock form I get longer and straighter shots with the T.388 over just about anything else I've tried and because of that I think it's a very forgiving head. Compared to the Ryoma it's got imo less spin and an equally penetrating trajectory both at 9.5. The Ryoma will have more space on the face but I have a feeling that if you were to draw a zone a couple of balls wide that the T.388 would be just as forgiving as the Ryoma within that area. Just a hunch.
  6. Stupidly awesome! I'm working on a video review as well. Give me a bit on that. Off the cuff, more accurate than the previous model, not as soft but still extremely great feeling. I think I may like it a little more as it provides more feedback yet still has soft areas near center. It has a better setup, less chunky and did I say these are accurate? Thats what I appreciate the most about these. That's my verdict, anyone else?
  7. I'd build a custom gold's or modify a putter you are in love with. I'm modifying a few new Sonoma's by golds to place in the proshop. For myself I'm modifying an Odyssey Tour iX black series which will be cool to remove the insert and replace with a PZ insert, refinish and increase the head weight by a tad. You can get the best of both worlds by adjusting the feel and performance of a putter you know you love the setup of already.
  8. Oh gawd those are stunning, obviously A5 all day! Is the one with the grey edges aged or the best one? I used to be able to handle JDM A5 but over the years i began getting nausea if I ate too much. It's just so damn fatty and oily it puts me in a coma. 10oz - what's that go-mon? ju-mon? Is that Shima?
  9. Yururi Tour Wedge has a non conforming version thats pretty nice.

  11. Yea we actually spoke to a couple of designers about this, we also had a chat with Mr. Kobayashi about the Nepo Voldemorts and he knew about the distance issue and acknowledged that he couldn't get more distance out of that design without sacrificing elsewhere, I'm playing the 13 ONOFF forged at the moment It's 2 full clubs longer due to design + jacked lofts + C-tapers.
  12. A full CB will usually have more distance than a more compact CB and for sure a blade, I think anyone who owned the personals noticed this. Recently we spoke to some of the designers at a brand that starts with the letter T and they shared with us that it's all about design and suggested the main reason to go for a blade is pretty much only workability. If your not interested in working the ball with extra precision you would get more distance and forgiveness with a CB which most of us already knew but still are drawn to blades anyway..lol
  13. This shaft is supposed to be in between the DI & BB. I'm not sure where the GT falls into place on this. I have the GT-7 coming in both of my new TourStage drivers that are coming.
  14. The last Kobayashi designs on top of every Epon release prior were the Personals, Zen, and Zero. Post Kobayashi we saw the rebadged of the AF-501, AF-701, AF-101, i33 & EHR driver Here is the post Kobayashi 503:
  15. Thats what I thought as well. This is Yamaha's only made in China driver and they already regret it. It was released a while back but then suffered from a massive recall. Over a thousand drivers were recalled. 100% of the stock on store shelves had to be returned to Yamaha for some reason we are not aware of. Even a few of our customers who purchased the first batch sent theirs back. I love the way it looks, we hit it a few weeks ago and it's nothing like Yamaha's other drivers. It's loud and hollow we were not expecting that. I'm willing to bet Yamaha only makes Endo drivers in the future. If this design was produced there I'm sure it would have been a hit. Outside of that Yamaha has an insanely amazing line up from wedge to driver we can safely say it's designed and produced in excellence.
  16. I'm gaming the stock shaft in stiff and loving it. The T388 goes a little higher than I expected so I'm happy I play the 9.5. Very nice combo! I don't plan on swapping the shaft out anytime soon.

  18. Could Tokyo be the food capital of the world? Based on the amount of Michelin stars in the city that statement could be true. Tokyo has roughly 200 stars in a single city thats more than twice the amount of Paris or any other country on earth. It could simply be supply and demand, like Japanese Golf Clubs quality & design play a significant factor in the way Tokyoites and it's visitors dine. In our recent trip to Japan we ate and well ate more and took tons of high res photos You can find a lot of things in the TSG forums, one thing that I found recently was a recommendation & VIP reservations to a restaurant called ARONIA DE TAKAZAWA in Akasaka and this spot was off the hook. They only serve 3 tables a night because there are only 3 tables in the restaurant. Chef Takazawa and his wife Akiko felt that with any more tables the could not give the guest the experience they deserve. It's not only delicious but all of the ingredients are produced of seasonal and rare ingredients not to mention it looks like art on a plate. While it isn't easy to get a reservation TSG member Supo67 hooked it up and we appreciate that so much, Thank You Stew! while it isn't cheap its an experience you must have while in Tokyo. Here are just a few of the pics from the meal: Above is a dish they call Ratatouille deconstructed. It's obvious TAKAZAWA-san is obseesed with perfection with flawlessly executed dishes. This course may look small as it is one bite but considering its one of about 13 you get your fill. With each course Akiko shares the story and ingredients or the story of the ingredients as well. It was more than just dining it was entertainment as well. Vegetables Parfait with caviar The chocolate spoon, not desert its actually filled with foie gras. We ordered the Japanese wine pairings, Tried about 6 different JDM wines and 1 really smooth sake. Learned something new, Japanese wines are often of really high quality so every vineyard sells their entire stock each year and has no back stock to store. That means it's very hard to find previous years wines unless you go to a collector. Much more different than how things work in Napa or Sonoma where the winery stores back stock of years allowing it to age. So these are just a few pics. If you want to see tons of pics of not only the food from TAKAZAWA but also other highly rated Tokyo restaurants & restaurants from our trip to Beijing " Click Here " to visit our forum for the full posting!
  19. This year at the Japan Golf Fair it was a big year for Taylormade & Adams Golf. This was the official relaunch of Adams in Japan, Adams sponsored Tom Watson was on hand and so was the newly signed Jumbo Ozaki . As far as Japan Only gear Taylormade had newly released Gloire models completing the Gloire series, everything from the new Gloire reserve driver to fairways, utilities, irons, balls, bags, and accessories. For those who have never heard of or seen the Gloire driver before last year it was Taylormade's best selling Japan Only product. Many pro's and amateurs gamed it in competitive play. It's the only forged titanium driver Taylormade has in it's line up and this year they really stepped into the unknown by utilizing a 70 layer graphite composite and thermostat urethane face. Multi Layer Flex face known as Limitless Technology.. Thats right the face isn't made of Titanium! Taylormade says this tech has been 10 years in the making. They continue to push the envelope. So why did Taylormade use what is essentially plastic for their latest driver face? They wanted to create a bigger face and Titanium had it's limitations. By using the Multi Layer Flex face It allowed them to increase the distance + forgiveness and create a whopping 30% larger hitting zone. We also got to see a new Daddy Long Legs putter. It's not a chest or belly putter it's simply a few inches longer than a normal putter with a lengthy grip that allows you to stabilize your stroke by extending your hands a bit more down. There is two versions the Black 34.5" & Red 36.5" versions that are weighted differently. It's a high MOI putter that could potentially be an a work around to the future ruling on the use of anchord putters. Equally big news was the re launch of Adams Golf in Japan. Nothing featured by Adams was Japan Only but they did have all their U.S models there with subtle specification and shaft differences More Pics...
  20. I used to really like the I-10's.
  21. All I know is that there are several new egg model woods coming. Most likely FW and UT/DI.
