Epon 302's vs 2011 OnOff Forged
Hey Rob, Thanks for participating in the blog! That was a fun read. In regards to shaft selection. I think the Program 130's would numb up feel a bit. Do you get the boardy sensation with those? I know I did when playing them although very accurate with a slight gain in distance over steel. I also think KBS lack's superb feel as well but to each is own. Never tried the C-Tapers. I'm waiting to shaft up the Crazy shafts as well. It's been a bit hot where I'm at so I dread getting out these days... Guess I will just work on the new TSG..;) For me and this is so personal but NS Pro has the best feel imo. I'm actually still a fan of the NS950 provided its in a low launching head but that's not very fun is it. Shimada's are good but don't have that buttery feel the NS Pro's have. One negative for me is that my dispersion is wider with NS shafts, even the 1150's. My current gamers are soft stepped NS1150's in AF302's. I would jump to the ONOFF's in a heart beat.

Fourteen 710 vs OnOff Forged
Hi Exhaloprez, That's interesting because head vs head fourteens vs your Razr MB's the Callaways will have the lower trajectory. Now shaft vs shaft the 950GH HT have a much higher trajectory than the Project X. So overall what you are seeing doesn't make sense to me. If it were me personally I would take the ONOFF Forged over the Fourteen 710's. I think the 710's are a hair smaller and quite a bit less forgiving. The ONOFF's also feel softer at impact.

Epon AF-101 reshaft
The Bridgestone/GD 10-03 is very much like a DJ-6 but softer from what I'm told. What I'm thinking now for you is an SR flex. As far as carry and your trajectory goes with the BS/GD 10-3 would you like higher or lower? More carry or more roll?

Epon 302's vs 2011 OnOff Forged
Yup I've played both. I'm actually gaming the 302's once again. Feel is too close to call. I give the edge to the 302's. The ONOFF Forged is softer all over the face but the rewarding impact of the 302's is an addiction especially with a nice shaft. Launch the 302's fly a hair lower. Forgiveness goes to the ONOFF's and by a decent margin. Turf interaction It really depends on your turf. Looks, that's so personal. I'm biased towards the ONOFF's because I have been looking at the 302 style design for over 6 years.

Yururi
Yup I will say that since getting rid of their woods and focusing on their bread and butter wedges and irons Yururi has really become one of the top JDM brands. Designer Mr. Miyoshi is unique, creative and thinks outside of the box. Many brands have copied his work over the years.

My Epon 502's Vs OnOff ????
I would suggest the ONOFF Forged. I liked them more than the Labo Spec. Also the Labo Spec's are sold out. The 502 had a bit too much offset and felt a bit weird.

Help Mjr D pick his new iron set!
Yup I can only say good things about the ONOFF Forged as far as a mid sized forged cavity back. soft and uber forgiving!

Quadra, crazy 80T vs full boron
The stinger is a white board made of Boron. Boron isn't as expensive as 80T especially for Mitsubishi who produces the stuff. The issue with the stinger is the specs were inconsistent as far as flex and weight goes. Diamana admits this as an issue and the reason why the product wasn't continued.

Tour only proto Matrix Ozik program 130 iron shafts
I played the 130's for many months just after release. As far as graphite goes they are among the stiffest. Accuracy was fantastic and while it feels a little boardy n stout to my game didn't suffer one bit from the switch to heavy graphite in irons.

Nope, they all feel different. Design and specs play attribute to feel more than manufacturing. With Endo everything is spot on like CG placements, weights, tolerance, etc..

Jbeam Fairway Woods?
The top FW's on the market: PRGR Egg Akira M215/218/221 (almost sold out) Jbeam FW HG Yonex ST Jbeam makes unreal FW's. I personally just switched from my Egg - Srixon Z-uti setup to 3 x Akira M series utility woods like Bogey Dog has. waiting on my FW-80 shafts from Crazy.

Coincidentally my choices all happen to be made by Endo. Titleist VG3 ONOFF Forged RC BBD Tour Forged Yamaha V-Forged Yonex Forged CB or even PB model PRGR Egg Forged

Out of the following, what's your pick...
I still say drop kenmochi, kyoei, hakusa. Akira for max spin with legal grooves, Sky Dream for ilegal grooves. Sasaya-san can make grooves that are crazy sharp, like unreasonable sharp per your request. sup sup super ilegal! I would consider Yamaha or RC with golds modified grooves.

JDM vrs 'Big' JDM
With woods companies like Ryoma & Jbeam/Crazy can go toe to toe with any big brand's offering. When it comes to Iron's & Wedges I find it to be a different story. Many smaller brands are adjusting open model heads based on how the final result looks not plays or measures up as far as CG placement overall balance and performance.

What's the best sub 400CC driver out there??
I still have the R510TP even the JDM R360 Tour which is like the U.S Tour R300 Tour. All good drivers. I would go with the new PRGR, then TourStage, then Yonex 380 in that order. Thanks, Chris

Yes golds can make insane illegal grooves that will give you max spin. I just spoke with sasaya-san about that a few weeks ago. Kyoei's are a spin off of the Yururi Raw's. Yururi asked Kyoei to produce it for them and Kyoei saw that it was the next trend and copied their blade and wedge. Not sure how you feel about that. Here's my take: Kyoei, Sakamoto, & Kenmochi lack attention to detail and top notch manufacturing. They are basically like all the other open model wedges on the market. Geotech Tour Issue BITE although cheaper still sit a level above them and imo produce more spin. ONOFF Sky Dream DB Forged Yamaha Crazy Gold's Factory Yonex Miura these you get what you pay for. If you want illegal grooves send one of the above wedges to Sasaya-san for some modifications.

OnOff 2011 Forged Irons
I personally love the 2011 ONOFF Forged. Soft & Forgiving! btw bob your 15* is in.

I'm not sure if your playing in USGA events but you want to watch out because some brands still use illegal grooves. Especially the smaller ones to get the edge. Of those you have mentioned. IMO the best would be the Sky Dream Jump & Yururi. Some others I think you should consider are: - RC DB Forged - Akira H2 (spins like crazy) - ONOFF S-Forged - Geotech Tour Issue Bite Of the above I rank the Akira best in spin and most compact. RC DB forged most forgiving and great all around I personally would go for the ONOFF S-Forged, I'm addicted to it's shape. Geotech has a great design, lots of spin, and a good price not to mention it's made in Japan.

YAMAHA 2011 wedges
The Yamaha's are fan freakin tastic! RC DB Forged is as well. Gold's can be produced with a satin finish and ultra sharp illegal grooves which is awfully tempting.

YAMAHA 2011 wedges
I'm asking Sasaya-san if he would start turning our conforming wedges into non conforming.
