  1. these fakes have a CNC milled cavity versus a forged pressed cavity direct from the original tooling. Endo doesn't CNC mill the design of the back cavity.
  2. I too would like to try some crazy shafts in my FW's and UT woods.
  3. The 380 feels great, distance is decent, shape is amazing. I don't think it has the best distance but it's a good value overall. +1 on the Yonex steel fairways, that and the new Akira are tops when it comes to traditional type woods.
  4. PRGR Egg Spoon for pure distance. Akira M215 for best all around FW.
  5. Ah, gotcha! It is a Tour Model, It looks like it packs more meat lower on the club head than its predecessors. We already have people lining up for these after this post was made. I find these to be very different compared to the 11's and wasn't expect such a drastic change as in the past Yamaha has made more subtle changes to the tour model irons annually. As usual look to bogeydog for first impressions when released as he is always the first to receive his from TSG
  6. the AF152 is a solid setup, soft feel and very forgiving make it a top pick. If spin is your concern Jbeam makes some that while maybe not as forgiving it will fly dead straight with a decent swing. I also like Ryoma's spin attributes as well.
  7. You guy's think these could be the non tour models for 2012?
  8. Yonex is telling me its a very whippy training aid now..lol. love the mixed info. yes sorry i meant DI not DJ, always mix those two up.
  9. I've got the dark colored 120g in stiff already. I just haven't figured out what heads to stick on them.
  10. actually today he is using his orange DJ shaft, I asked yonex what shaft the white one was, they sent me a video of him swinging the DJ series in orange just a few hours ago from their cell phone.
  11. yup a tour ad prototype, no name yet. It's mid kick, 75 gram range. im told.
  12. The Akira UT is along the lines of the TourStage XUT and ONOFF Labo Spec Fairway Wings, These all fly low have a mid trajectory and a very deep face.
  13. The 13* should be a bit easier to hit, the 11.5 lower. I'm not using it enough, max is twice a round. Sometimes depending on the course zero. look for it in the next inventory sale.
  14. I always fit to the basics when I know I will be playing a set for an extended period of time. The 5 basic's are: Loft/Lie/Length/Swing Weight/Grip Size if your specs are spot on and you have the right shaft your pretty much set.
  15. this would look good done custom.
  16. I'm considering a 3,5,7 combo of these with DJ-8 shafts. Tatsuro and I thought it was the best FW period. The yonex 13* steel is another hot one but this particular akira is unreal.
  17. If you guy's like right on the edge cor on the verge of illigal try Akira, its not produced in Japan but it's super hot, same deal with the wedges.
  18. my guess is that they are just very good designs made with good materials. Both drivers mentioned are also pure designs no fluff or things to tinker with. It must be fun for you to have those two heads they are very different yet both lots of fun. 152 is underrated i think. And your FEX, those are some nice sticks.
  19. Your awesome stew, that crazy is exactly as you describe. I gamed it with several shafts, longest drives ever were with the super high launch LY01 hot. way too high. CB46 leaked a little right for me half the time, while the good ol CB50 was solid! I always have a weird desire for the jbeam 425 tour in 11* with a half degree closed face angle. I think that would be a good trajectory on a very tight flight. I can't see me getting off of Ryoma/Muzzik anytime soon.
  20. The pics I just posted are of a DB forged with at least 200 shots hit. The finish indeed held up very well, I like brushed satin as it hides scratches easily.
  21. Miura's new wedge is pretty nice, were testing it now against others and it's doing very well. Feels nice too.
  22. So I guess the key is finding a head that launches a bit higher?
  23. I get a ton of spin from even the new grooves, sometimes even zipping back. I'm wondering what the common denominator is with players who have seen a huge drop in spin with the new groove rule? Are you guy's sweepers?
