  1. I could never get along with the CB46 yet I always did well with the LY01. CB46 leaks right, LY01 nice and straight yet a little too high.
  2. I do suggest iron covers for people who plan on selling their clubs after a short period of use. I'm always using them for my demo set's and that's why people love the condition of the clubs in the demo sales. those copper 302's are awesome!
  3. Hey Mike, Thanks for your support man! yup people sometimes write off the NS950 for wedges and irons but I think they should try them. Tatsuro many times comments on how they make the club feel better. he plays X100 and can control an NS950 Stiff just fine. I love the 950. It's so good often I don't bother with a shaft change.
  4. Love your Avatar C! RC is more Versatile I think, has a more rounded and bigger sole. It's in the top 5 this year no doubt. Yamaha in the top 5 as well. It's a toss up and depends on the turf, I think that harder conditions the Yamaha would excel. The RC is very much like my Crazy wedges, easy to hit, great setup.
  5. No difference in finishes, we do have a lot of experience with Jbeam drivers especially the 425 Tour. It's a low spin low medium trajectory monster. Distance is above average but how straight it goes is where it really shines. Tatsuro our TSG club tester's gamer is the 425 Tour with 787 by Muzzik shaft. He can pretty much only hit it straight and it stands well into the wind. In regards to your shaft question, these two shafts will react very differently depending on the person who is swinging it. I've gamed the CB46 not the 80LSII so I couldn't compare.
  6. Yup 302's should be ranked pretty high up there. Keep in mind Yamaha Tour & TS 905 CB are both sold out. We have a used set of the 905 available at about 400-500 off retail price if interested. My Take on the Yamaha's were they are some of the most pretty irons ever produced. The drawback was forgiveness where I felt the 302's win out big time. The 905's on the other hand are just between the Yammy Tour's and the 302's.
  7. Here are the pictures of the MB 3 iron: Here are the pictures of the MB PW:
  8. Odyssey 2 ball CS with the adjustable weight has been a great help when my anser gets naughty.
  9. Yup I'm with you and feel this year's models by tourstage are their best ever.
  10. I think the RC feels better, compared to the TRC The ONOFF's are more forgiving but the RC is easier to get off the ground in my opinion. The ONOFF has a lot of space on it's face to land. it's pretty deep and would fit the faster swing best.
  11. These UT's are off the hook. I'm gonna try them in graphite, Tried in steel and they are monsters! Mid/Low consistent trajectory better than average feel. First UT in a while that will and can easily knock the X-UT's out of the bag.
  12. To answer your first question about S25C instead of S20C, I have no idea. In regards to Chiba-san of Zodia making the MB, there is a bit of confusion here. My people have seen the MB heads in Kyoei. I'm not all that sure if Zodia is in the business of forging clubs, I was under the impression it's a small grind house. So where is it forged? who knows. Is Chiba-san grinding each and every one of them... I doubt it. My best guess is he came up with the design and worked with Ryo's requests and taught the staff at a factory like Kyoei how to produce it. Also they are probably not produced at Endo because of demand or they are a limited production. Endo requires all sorts of expenses and mass volume. Min orders are in the millions of dollars.
  13. oh at the very top that little edge of a wedge? It's the Yamaha's dark bronze.
  14. I'm doing an in depth on the new Miura's this coming week if you want to wait. Honestly the ONOFF Forged is IMO the one to beat. Great combo of feel and forgiveness. If you want player style and even more forgiveness go with the Labo Spec's. You sacrifice feel yet gain confidence.
  15. The difference between the older Tours until now is minimal. Visually I can see it but to be totally honest performance wise the only thing I have noticed was some are slightly more forgiving than others slightly higher or lower trajectory and that's about it. 08-11 are all awesome in my book. Just wish I had the game for it. PRGR Limited CB Yamaha Limited CB TourStage Limited CB Can't go wrong with any of these. I like the TourStage for forgiveness. The PRGR for feel and Yamaha because it's the most sexy looking.
  16. Mass produced will always appear more refined than handmade.
  17. So I've had the MB's almost a week now. It's quite different than the prototype at the show. I've been comparing the pics then till now and it seems its now a much more refined design. Differences: - Exaggerated Tear Drop now instead of a semi boxy toe - Trail relief is much smaller and subtle vs the proto had a huge step which took away from sole surface I could get used to these with graphite shafts. With the NS950 it's pure. It's a Very Japanese style muscle back IMO.
  18. I have also used both heavy and light shafts. Heavy is much better for my consistency, dispersion, supports my tempo by slowing me down. Yet I find myself always venturing into the high 60's range as I've hit my best drives at that weight. Usually if my tempo is to quick and my transition is getting abusive then a heavier shaft will totally keep me in check. Same deal with the fairway woods. in 13/15* I would suggest a heavier shaft.
  19. The 152 is an awesome driver we don't talk about enough here.
  20. I'm not 100% but R&A is on the same groove ruling as USGA correct? If so one should think that the irons must be new groove rule conforming.
  21. When it comes to Adjustability in golf clubs Japan is fairly conservative. Of course TM is known best for it but it's something I don't think has stuck in Japan like it has in the U.S. Your totally right though, their tech and other stuff comes out earlier.
  22. Sorry Pete, The 15* FW are abundant but the 13* isn't should be arriving anytime now Email us if you have any questions or need to make changes.
  23. I figured we need a Yonex post mainley because the tip sizes differ from other JDM brands so it's worth an explain. Along with that we can post pics maybe merge a couple of other topics. Tip Sizes: EZONE Type 380 Driver - .350 EZONE Type 420 Driver - .350 EZONE Type 450 Driver - .350 EZONE Type ST Fairway - .350 EZONE Utility - .350 EZONE Forged MB Iron - .355 tapered EZONE Forged CB Iron - .370 parallel EZONE Forged PB Iron - .370 parallel EZONE Forged Wedge - .355 tapered EZONE Composite Iron - .370 parallel Interesting that they decided to go that route, the clubs are inserted with a shim at the factory if necessary. Yonex is to me at least is this years surprise. 6 months before the Japan show not many were expecting a launch as complete and well done from wedge to driver. Above that's the 15* ST Fairway Wood. I really enjoy it's feel and shape and size. All Yonex products are available head only component style except for the Utility wood.. Not sure why but thats ok. Speaking of it below's the new UT. It's easy to hit, has mid/high trajectory, felt a little flat at impact but a very safe club that set's up very well. There are 3 types of iron sets. Two which I am happy to say are made at Endo. Both of which I have had the pleasure of hitting and like very very much. Those two models are the Forged CB (smaller head) Forged PB (mid sized). The Muscle Back's are just trickling out, My set just arrived I'll take some pics for you guys. Zero iron will soon release. I would definitely say check out the Forged CB. It's got an undercut yet doesn't feel clicky. It feels like a hollow soft. I think I'll coin a new term "Srixon Z-UTI 'ish..." Look Here: (Such a Nice Top Line) View it in the Blog Here: Other than that the new Wedge is Japan Forged and a really solid performer for the decent to better player. I have hit it many times now, spin is better than most, shape is very unique designed by Miyagi-san of MTI formerly the designer for PRGR MTI's and is also famous for his Tour Wedges in Japan. I still need to spend time with the Muscle Backs and get my hands on the Zero iron. There are also some decent Japan made putters coming as well. So that's it, a place to come if you have questions about Yonex product. On a side note Yonex told me Ryo was playing the MB's on the PGA a couple of weeks ago. Anyone pay notice to what he has in the bag for the U.S Open? I saw he's sportin the new Yonex caps.
  24. Your making me want one! I was thinking DJ-6 to help it get up.
