  1. Some pics from yesterday before hitting this pretty new X-Drive!
  2. Tomorrow Tatz and I will be hitting a ton of balls with it so there is a review to come. Also Bad news guy's I just found out that Muziik is unavailable for 2 entire months because Fujikura Shaft's production facility is located in Fukushima so they are rerouting manufacturing to Nagano.
  3. Sure thing B, As many of you already know Muziik offers shafts, grips, and a really amazing putting aid called the E-Ball which is a 70/80/90 gram ball. The Wood Shafts ( In order hardest hitting to softest ) Muziik 787 ( S = 75g X = 77g ) Muziik BangVoo Premium ( There are many flexes. Actually they have 2 different Stiff's one at 250cpm the other at 260. I'm playing 260 it's 67g ) Muziik BangVoo Premium Gold ( Stiff = 59g ) Muziik BangVoo Premium lite ( Stiff = 49g ) Muziik BangVoo Ladies ( L-Flex = 46g ) Tatsuro is absolutely in love with the 787, it was too stout for me. I am absolutely in love with the BangVoo Premium in the Ryoma, Honestly I like it better than any Crazy or FireExpress I have tried. The kick feels vibrant yet smooth and the dispersion is super tight, I was comparing the tip sections of the Muziiks to the Crazy's and the walls are thicker with Muziik. The BangVoo Premium utilizes Rombax tech while the 787 uses Speeder tech.. I could not feel the kick in the 787. Also the Premium BangVoo does play a bit softer than the 260cpm stated when attached to a head.
  4. The much-anticipated Quakebook (2:46: Aftershocks: Stories from the Japan Earthquake) -- a wide-ranging collection of personal accounts and reflections about the massive earthquake that struck Japan on March 11 -- is now available as a Kindle eBook on Amazon, and the entire purchase price ($9.99) goes to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist those affected by the disaster. Highly recommended. [Link] (Note: Non-Kindle owners can also read the book by first downloading one of the free reading applications for other mobile devices and computers here.)
  5. Wednesday April 14th 2011: Yesterday Me, TSGirl, and Tatsuro enjoyed some range time and a round of golf at Spanish Trails GC in Las Vegas. Sometimes we do dedicated review day's at a grass range with good balls usually TPC other days we go out to play golf and hit clubs on course. Yesterday was a fun day we had range time for about 45 min then a full round of golf. Windy Day! - JBEAM 445 HG w/ Crazy TJ-46 Nero SR flex - Yonex 380cc Ryo Ishikawa Driver 10* w/ DJ-7 Stiff Shaft - Kenmochi KD-01 Black 10* w/ Crazy CB-46 6.7 flex - TourStage X-Drive 455cc w/ DJ-6 Stiff - Ryoma V-Spec 9.5 w/ Muziik BangVoo Premium Stiff - Srixon 2011 Z-TX Driver 10.5 with Miyazaki Kusala Stiff Flex - JBEAM 425-Tour 10* w/ Muziik 787 Speeder Stiff Notes: - Ryoma + Muziik was by far my favorite driver once again by a mile. - Yonex 380 was an amazing performer I thought no way could it be for me, I hit it very well. nice heavy feel setup great not so forgiving on my driver mis hits which are heel side. - Kenmochi I only hit 10 balls with CB46 is not a good shaft for me, feel was good club face fit's me very well as its got room on the heel side. slightly hollow quality sound sensation to it. - JBeAM 445 HG is a killer the shape from above is a bit blocky round if that makes any sense, feel was VERY good, great distance shaft may be a hair soft for me. - TourStage 455 feels damn good for a big head, I love TS products can't fault this club for anything well rounded. I played with the Mizuno Hokkaido's yesterday instead of my Yururi's. nice! Today Is all posting and pics and some club making. Tomorrow is a dedicated testing day and video shoot at TPC again. Demo clubs will go on sale this weekend! Stay tuned to this post! ** Gocchin ** I know he has the RC demo's and I know PRGR ID's are coming his way maybe he can chime in! **
  6. This Topic is all about what myself and the staff here at TSG are testing and evaluating. I find that I really can't contradict myself in the blog or in official reviews without getting called out on it. Truth is in golf nothing is static and everything is dynamic. Some days the my favorite club can become my worse enemy but I don't really get to post that. Another reason for this topic is because many people ask us if they can purchase our demo clubs at a reduced cost and I want everyone to know that YES! you can yet because so many people ask it's unfair for me to notify one over the other when the club is finished with testing and evaluation and on the market for sale. For those who stay in touch with this on going topic will be able to no read more about our good days and bad days with testing but also jump on the opportunity to purchase our mint condition demo clubs. Please Enjoy & Participate!
  7. ha ha! I forgot about monty, what graphite shafts does he play in his irons? I wish I could provide more feedback when it comes to durability, I've had a driver shaft break but never a graphite iron shaft. The walls are very thick in graphite iron shafts even in the tip section, much much thicker than steel but for sure steel would handle a beating better.
  8. Had around 30 shots with this club recently. I liked it a lot but couldn't say If i liked it more than the Srixon Z-UTi. They are two great performers with very different qualities. The Fourteen has a better leading edge and rounded corners, I didn't hit this one fat as easily. Both had NS950 Stiff shafts and were the same loft. The Srixon flew a bit further but the fourteen had a better and higher softer landing trajectory. The Srixon was for sure straighter and I think both were as equally forgiving. The problem was the fourteen is that there was too much sole contact, if i hit behind the ball it bounced a couple of times, The srixon's issues were it's leading edge dug a little in the same circumstance. Here's some quick pics with camera phone.
  9. Yea I would say get off of the Yururi driver info search. It's an open model head from Taiwan. Of all the woods the only original design is their latest UT. pretty good club performance wise but a bit bright for me. Yes golfmall.co.jp is the yururi website. Yes Yururi is a smaller company the owner Mr.Miyoshi used to work at Miura back in the day. He is an amazing club designer.
  10. The way I would describe Mizuno is Spongey, launchy, soft vibration. I think it supports anyone to know what specific model is being talked about when learning about foundries or forgings. For example Epon 502 & 702 don't feel anywhere as good as 302 and AF-Tour. or AF-Tour is S20C and feels softer than TourStage MB's. With Stew that shaft makes a big difference, I love NS Pro in terms of feel. I love graphite the most for 2 reason's first is the kick feels more pronounced and the impact is softer. Imagine vibrations going up thin steel shaft walls vs thick carbon shaft walls. Especially when you move into 2 piece heads steel is louder and more metallic while graphite does help to soften things up.
  11. The 58* and 60 degree wedges are available in two distinct sole grinds, H-Grind and M-Grind. The H-Grind has been engineered for variety and control its entire sole portion is flat with a slight heel and toe relief to enable better shot management. For a low bounce just open the club face and for a high bounce close it up. The M-Grind is professionally inspired and features and features a slight ridge on the bottom center of the sole. When you open the club face it utilizes the back portion of the sole while closing it uses the front. This is basically in hand adjustability or manipulation, The M will allow you to be more creative in shot selection along with being able to optimize bounce at will. You can remove the black finish with some sort of liquid and scrubbing to make it bare metal raw. I would actually suggest leaving it on and letting it go raw in impact areas with use and wear. The DB Forged wedges br RC are only available in the grinds you see listed in the proshop. RC isn't offering custom grind.
  12. Akira is made in China. It's a great brand though a small part of Hitachi. We have a great relationship with Akira I will have their latest products in the proshop in a couple of weeks. The way it works is different. Their focus is on their tour players not their retail market, The tour player and designer comes up with what they want. They produce it at one of the better Chinese factories yet the minimum order purchase is a lot so there is a lot of Tour Issue products left over. They offer those to select club makers in Japan. Akira heads are slightly hotter than other brands, it's as if the entire batch is hand picked and if you ever hit it, they are not the most forgiving as its designed neutral with lower trajectories. The average player would say it's hard to hit. We only plan to sell the Tour Issue product. I've tested a bunch the trajectory reminds me of the Jbeam Tour.
  13. Endo is the best in the world hand's down IMO. Technology and JDM materials put them over the top. Recently they invested a huge amount of money into their Thailand factories They moved their best Japanese staff and retrained the thai employees to the next level. They also comply with international manufacturing standards at the highest level. The investment in their multiple Thai factories was needed because the main gripe from the OEM's is that Endo is too expensive, It's still too expensive compared to Chinese or Taiwanese factories. Japanese brands tend to use Endo because the Japanese people are willing to pay more for better product. I wouldn't compare Miura to Endo because Miura doesn't forge their own heads or produce their own tooling. Endo is a monster of a company, they make medical & automotive parts at a very large scale as well. Miura is mom and pops, solid grind house with great attention to detail though, the only company that chooses to use spin welded hosels at the moment. Vega is not Kyoei's in house brand. It's owned by the former president of Kyoei Mochizuki. They buy product from Kyoei like everyone else, lot's of family drama in that story! Zestaim is Kyoei's in house brand. People make the assumption that Endo clubs feel alike. Design, loft, and sole grind are huge contributing factors to feel. Even more so than material. You can have all the clubs made by Endo using the same material and method yet no two designs will feel the same. That is why they have not messed with the AF-302 over the years. It's pure feel is considered optimal to many. Another thing is Endo can perform manufacturing processes that no one else can, they adjust the annealing/heat treatment process at will, incorporate different mixtures, produce some technologies that they own not the OEM. They hold the power when dealing with OEM's where as other factories have a basic process they do very well and the OEM will choose them if it fits their price and design. Endo collaborates with the OEM's on how to improve the product and sometimes OEM's have an issue they can't figure out so they have to go to Endo. Just about any factory can produce clubs softer than the other at will. Just mess with the heat treatment, or add a copper underlay, or produce a design that keeps vibration in tune. It's not about who's the softest it's a combination of a dozen different factors that can appeal to the personal taste of the many.
  14. I actually have the casting mold for this one, Honestly it's not a good performance driver. I love Yururi wedges and irons but the woods need a serious revamp.
  15. I'm sporting dual X-UT's and have the Yamaha and RC on the way for testing.
  16. If it's on the body, it has nothing to do with it being made of multi parts. If it's on the face It has to do with what the face material is made from. Your finding is interesting because both myself and T have the VG3's and I personally haven't noticed a difference.
  17. Just another trouble makers site. It is a form of flattery not a very good one though, were working on taking it down. What they did was save the images they could and host it on their site. A couple years ago they tried this also. The godaddy account is listed to a very popular church in california, they are using a proxy as a decoy. Anyway GoDaddy is on taking it down. Poor guy at the church his godaddy account was hacked by the chinese
  18. Yururi doesn't do this. Mizuno does and fairly aggressively within reason. I've ordered Miura custom grind a couple of times and it was very conservative, not much to grind off there. If anyone IN JAPAN is serious you can PM me. I personally would rock the Mizuno program because of the options and custom finish and stamping. for C, By phone mizuno can do this, im not sure how aggressive you want it but worth a try and it would make a great write up.
  19. Ouch that is a tough one. I can order one of each and bring it in for pics and a review if you would like, then sell you the demo's when were done. It would take about 2 weeks total to do this.
  20. Your right C, It's not GT3 spec it's the M3's normally aspirated V8 tuned up a bit. This will be the last year BMW offers a normally aspirated motor in an M Series. It's all turbo or SC after this.
  21. I was shooting for the standard model over the V-Spec as a slightly closed face would serve me better but this is what they had and I wanted it asap. In the end the only difference is the face angle and color right?
  22. Miuraism is a line where you can actually be fit then they custom grind it for you provided you go there and have a translator. Would that be something your interested in stew? Another system like that is where we can actually send you to the Mizuno Chuo plant for a fitting and they custom grind mizzy irons for you. Two amazing programs, not cheap but an experience in itself.
  23. awesome stew, thanks for the update. So this is your windy driver huh, compared to the Jbeam 425 tour which one is lower and more stable in the wind?
  24. It's another Ryoma post! I got onto the Ryoma band wagon pretty late, I knew if I waited long enough they would send me a freebie. I just tore the shaft out and slapped in the Muziik BangVoo Premium Stiff flex (260cpm spec) Video review coming this week.
