  1. Yup New Roddio's = Much more stable and predictable!
  2. Awesome stew, its a mixed bag when it comes to stingers as you already know. when you planning on giving it course time? let us know!
  3. We tried our best to get these in stew's hands to hit, the story was that Ryo is still evaluating them and has yet to find his groove with it. The single set they had on display was a product they were not comfortable with it's performance as of yet. some fine tuning will be done so what you see in the pics is one of two prototypes manufactured for Ryo. It will be coming to the market in it's final form probably around April or so.
  4. I would say only shafts made of 80/90T should be sold anywhere near 1k. some brands are offering sub 50T shafts at 1k, Its more a marketing ploy to get u excited. I'm not gonna mention any names
  5. Great news! had a meeting with Roddio yesterday we are clear to offer their product shaft only now which wasn't the case before. The new models are less finicky than the old and supposed to be much better. Expect full coverage on Monday!
  6. Yonex sir! Pics to be posted very soon! Video of Supo hitting them as well!
  7. Gotcha! We were at the show all day yesterday, a couple new blades caught our eye. First the Yonex Ryo blade which is forged by Endo and very clean looking ( will post pics soon ). The TourStage new limited X-Blade is my personal favorite, other than that not much in terms of muscle backs. Miura is never at the show, not very popular in Japan it's more a U.S thing. posts are starting to show up on GTI and facebook now. Check it out!

  9. Japan has the most insane scotch dedicated bars!
  10. I somewhat agree but keep in mind that shafts like Quadra FireExpress & Crazy reduce shaft deformation bringing the club head to square very quickly. 46" Crazy = big big distance!
  11. It's not overpriced for how it's being produced. Kyoei, Miura, Endo it's all still considered mass production. Gold's Factory is at a whole other level Read this : The Golds Factory Process Another couple of awesome posts! Click Here Click Here
  12. that's good to hear C, So graphite iron shafts part of your future?
  13. Shinagawa was the old man grinder, pretty popular dude in Himeji. They were raw blanks he purchased and hand ground. Not sure where they were forged. I know the owner of Kyoei pretty well, They make good stuff but delays and some QC issues haunt them. That's my take as I have sold hundreds of pieces of their product over the years and even had the Seven Hills wedge produced there along with some other hush hush projects I supported. When Kyoei is ON, They are ON! Now with Miura, god I hate to get into this because so many retail customers think they know the skinny... TADA mfg forges Miura golf clubs. It's funny another forum posted a youtube video called the Miura forging process. The video clearly show's TADA mfg. I do think Miura makes top quality product. Tolerance is tops due to spin welded hosels but spin welded hosels are dated and a very cheap way to adjust and keep specs stable. Saves a ton of money in tooling.
  14. Lot's of great feedback here, yes on tour 440-460 is the norm. In Japan more pro players are moving to sub 400cc drivers. It's not the majority but there is a shift occurring. What I heard Ben say was that he really want's to try a MODERN smaller head with all the tech bells and whistles, good news is this is your year. I will be doing the same so if you want to follow along at the same time and provide your findings while I report mine that's cool, or you can wait to hear my opinion then decide. I will say that any frequent poster who want's to take part in this will get a solid discount on that small headed purchase.
  15. Pretty sure Epon will not have a booth. From what I understand they do not want to appear as a competitor against their OEM customers that manufacture golf clubs at ENDO. Crazy should be there, waiting for confirmation on Quadra.
  16. Yup, will get you Yamaha driver address pics! And were on the same page with a wanting to see what Yonex has for RYO as far as Endo forged players iron goes.
  17. Here Here lennie, Gary is a class act, It's an honor to have him doing a lot of work for TSG'ers. I also have to agree with you on the graphite in irons thing, Program shafts are fantastic in irons! It was soft stepped Program 130's that did the trick for me.
  18. What Do You Want? What Do You Want? What Do You Want? 2011 Japan Golf Fair Time is here and we want to know what you would like to see! This year will be our best year of coverage ever with a few new cool additions to the way we present the show. Expect the best pictures, best video, and now best testing to date of any show TSG has covered in years past! More Swings? More Girls? More Food? More Nightlife? Let us know, Your feedback is appreciated!
  19. It's an awesome driver. Set solidly in the bag. I have no experience with Ryoma yet because I have been so happy with the new CRZ-460. I have it with the Crazy Black HOT. This combo could go a bit lower for my but I have picked up a lot of yards which has helped as Tatsuro is always draging me to the tips and now im only 30 yards behind him instead of 50!
  20. Yup I love the VG3, its got minimal offset yet a top line that isn't razor thin which to me equals lots of forgiveness + confidence! I'm going to see whats new and available at the Golf Show next week. If nothing tickles my fancy im back with the VG3 or Epon 302's. One thing to note is the VG3 has gotta be one of the most highly demanded irons in Japan. The back orders are silly. We can find sets quickly if your willing to wait on the #4 iron or be flexible on set make up and specs.
  21. I agree with ya Spoon, the EGG is not the best off the tee. I don't get along with any shallow face FW's off the tee. Even the 202 HT. standard 202 is a gem off the Tee! Royal Collection makes some killer driving fairways! My opinion is that nothing beats the Egg off the fairway.
  22. love the opinions guy's my take is different on longer shafts and maybe Tario can chime in with some of the data found in the shaft bible and other Japanese independent publications. The longer shaft does create a little more distance. The shorter shaft increases the accuracy of hitting it dead center. When all is equal and you hit the longer shaft dead center and the shorter shaft dead center the swing speed, ball speed, and most importantly distance is increased a bit with longer shafts. So that's what the research shows... My take is hit whatever you hit best. For me 44.5 - 45.5" is good. Longer shafts have softer butt sections when designed as such which equals better feel as well. Also the type of shaft plays a big part in it. For example 50-80T shafts have significantly less shat deformation which brings the head back to it's starting point a lot faster. This supports the longer shaft. Crazy is a great example of a shaft that works well at 46" or 44.5"
