  1. My 2 cents is... Many drivers already have composite crowns, what does a carbon crown do? it's lighter on top so CG can be lowered yet the vast majority of our members especially in the forum want higher CG so... then there are the weight limitations by adding a shaft adapter (7g) to the neck and weight moving system (5+ g) so your screwed far more with these features than the savings a of carbon crown can create. It doesn't matter who or what driver is #1 because US PGA Tour players do not have access to the best equipment in the world. They use what they are paid to play or what companies have tour vans on site.
  2. We have 2 sets left in stock. Outside of that it's approx 2 months wait for a set of heads.
  3. A couple of months ago I posted photos of the extremely rare Roddio MB made by Zodia, those sold really quickly on TSG and for those who didn't get a set Zodia has the same model iron and shape available with a circle Z logo instead of the R and bumble bee as the Roddio model had. Chiba-san of Zodia is known for his sharp toe angles and edges his irons are all hand ground by the man himself with a focus on designs that are compact for athlete golfers. I've hit many of Zodia's irons and wedges old and new and they usually place an emphasis on a compact appearance, thin top line, and a more firm feel at impact. The new Zodia 2015 Limited MB is available 4-PW only and should sell out quickly. TSG has these available heads only or custom built with nearly endless options.
  4. Sanki has a ton of paint options, recently many of the Bamboo shafts have shipped to the first wave of Sanki customers they take about 3 months to produce and run 1100 - 1400 depending on options. I've got a few Bamboo's on the way one of them a TSG exclusive black & white bamboo but to test these in more drivers I picked up a bunch of all white and metallic gray which retail at about 725ish. I actually like the simple white, but this metallic which looks kinda boring in shade really brightens up in sunlight and looks very nice. a couple of clients have also created some pretty cool gradient colored shafts with the blue grip/white butt/blue mid/tip sections with black heads that look cool. All the options make it a bit overwhelming but here are pics of the least expensive options to get a Sanki in the bag. They are outstanding shafts, 80T + 50T in each shaft, They are up there with the 7D's.
  5. Pics here, haven't hit it but has a unique and very tear drop shape at setup.
  6. Need more distance and want more distance are two different things. If you play only for fun HCR drivers are a blast as nearly everyone enjoys more distance.
  7. No HCR driver I know of creates 29yds gain or even near that. I would say 10yds at 100mph. I don't know about the physics or math of it but we hit many HCR drivers and the difference is noticeable in some and not others.
  8. Maxima ST feels the hottest to me at impact, lots of brands do not want to disclose the COR of their HCR drivers so they say over 0.83. And remember these things can break with 98-100+ mph swing speeds.
  9. Have not hit this one yet, in hand looks like a deeper face than most UT's Lots of Docus posts this week, still got wedge & drivers to go.
  10. I don't think these need foam, they don't sound or feel bad at all, if you want more weight in the head hot melt should be fine as well.
  11. Always dreamed of owning a P-51 since I was a child. Now I invision it all black with the rivets shaved down flush to the body and Audi style LED's embedded into the wing tips in a cool tasteful shape, air con and stereo system on the inside, modern technology yadda yadda... I just learned the company Titan Aircraft makes replica's using Honda motors! Now I just need a couple mill and some flying lessons to make this a reality ;) http://www.titanaircraft.com/t-51d.php
  12. More Docus here this time the FW and it's very good! Think Royal Collection or A-Grind but a little more shallow, it's flight is medium it's designed for good player, pretty compact the finish on the crown has a silver effect center while darker on all corners, feels really nice good club here.
  13. If your in the market for a forged players cavity back with more forgiveness than usual here is a new option to consider, Introducing the new Docus DCI-701 CB. Featuring a sole wider than a blade with both heel and trailing edge relief the DCI701 also has extra heel relief to help the player not get caught up in the rough which may turn the club face over. Forged of SS400 steel and hand ground in Ichikawa Japan the overall shape and design of these irons present the golfer with a near blade like appearance yet with a deep enough cavity to keep it in play more than a muscle back would. Wider sole than a blade, heel relief grind + trail/leading edge relief. This top line is very thin and has a nice neck transition with next to no offset applied. It's cavity is pretty deep considering how compact it is at address. Very nice shape face forward, nice higher neck with a toe that extends well past the grooves.
  14. Based on what your saying it looks to be. Not sure if this is for Yonex Japan or US.
  15. We have been getting a lot of requests for ZY-11's this week oddly. If you want spin reducing and a lower trajectory yes it's legit. I have just about everything to choose from and I play a ZY with 7D shaft. Backup is a Blackout 435 with 7D shaft and on the way is Maxima ST with 7D shaft.
  16. Not loud for the most part, depends on which driver you choose.
  17. Got these in play now and they are fabulous, trajectory for me is a penetrating mid/high, they feel a bit smoother than the 120s yes are a touch more stable and straight.
  18. Introducing Docus Golf - A relatively new brand out of Japan with a designer who has been a part of the Japan Golf Industry for decades, TSG is proud to announce our new relationship with Docus after receiving samples of their clubs and evaluating them with very positive results. We have many different models to go over in the coming weeks but we will start with one of my favorites, the new DCI-702 Cavity Blade. Made of SS400 soft forged steel and featuring a double cut cavity with the workability of the blade yet with forgivenss like a players CB, the H back design helps to lower the center of gravity making these much easier to hit than a normal muscle back iron. After our testing we can confirm it is more forgiving than your traditional muscle back iron, it seems to have a slightly higher launch than most MB's and out near the toe distance wasn't greatly reduced as it would be with many blade irons. Made with minimal offset and a thin top line the new Docus DCI-702 also has a sharper toe which gives it a unique look at address, in regards to feel we found them to be just as firm as most blades yet the center struck shot on a traditional MB is a bit more pure at impact. The top line is in the sub 4mm range making it one of the thinner on the market, and below you get a better visual angle of it's stepped cavity, while it's not exactly considered parameter weighting it does have a similar approach by creating different levels from thinner near the top line getting thicker and deeper toward the sole. TSG is now offering these in the proshop as heads only or shafted, basic shaft options are available from the OEM while most customers will be requesting more custom spec'd builds from TSG Club Works. Base set is 5-PW with optional #4 iron.
  19. Bigger face than all 3 of those. Compared to Egg 7 it is similar yet launch is a little higher Compared to Maxima it's trajectory is for sure lower and more penetrating Against Zero I have no idea. I think its very forgiving, straight, lower spin, feel is great, looks a bit larger because it's 460cc, My best guess is PRGR has way more technology + R&D in their drivers than the Zero, Maxima combined. But that said, Maxima 7D combo is getting a lotta rave reviews from clients who have purchased it.
  20. exactly T-MB wins in all categories other than the pureness of the Crazy MB. Oddly we have many customers who pass on the T-MB because it is stainless steel, if they hit it they would think it's soft forged.
  21. I think you could but make sure you have a stable high kick shaft for your speeds. I think 7* is too intimidating so as stew mentioned it may have hurt sales. Sorry nothing about lefty yet.
  22. The new PRGR Egg drivers just released for sale on september 11th, a few weeks ago in the blog we covered the Super Egg non conforming version, today we are showing you pre release photos of the conforming version known as the 2015 Egg Driver ( no super ). This deep faced 460cc driver holds nothing back in terms of technology and materials, PRGR uses a titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) face with a titanium (Ti-8Al-1V-1Mo) body. Available in 2 lofts 10 & 11 degree's the standard face angle is listed at 2* open but the driver looks and plays very square, this is due to the unique methods prgr uses to design, manufacture, and measure their clubs. Ultra Deep Face, the new Conforming Egg Driver really raises high center of the club face making it great for forgiveness and players who miss high and low on the face. Overall after hitting the new egg driver for a couple of rounds it is indeed an excellent compromise between a players driver that packs enough forgiveness for a mid handicapper to use. This deep face produced a nice soft feel that wasn't hollow this is a straight of PRGR drivers a nice dense feel. The sweet spot seems big as mis**ts are punished less than other similar sized clubs, like all egg drivers the spin is low, trajectory is a true medium and the ball flight is very penetrating, it's a common theme with PRGR's players drivers. Like the super egg non conforming version it has the power flange to help increase rebound when coming off the face. While PRGR classifies this driver as high launch none of our testers found this as in 10* it played what we considered true to loft. As you can see in the below image -2.0 open face angle looks square so don't let this sway you it's simply the method PRGR uses to measure. Flexes are R2/R/SR/S in PRGR's original design shafts and there are custom shafts available through PRGR or more exotic options such as hot melt, foaming, and ultra top end shaft options from TSG Club Works.
