Carl Spackler

I grew up in Northwest Indiana, in the shadow of Chicago, and now live in Fort Wayne, which is in the NE corner of the state of Indiana.  I'm 67 this year, mostly retired, except for my seasonal gig of golf course maintenance at a local muni.  Nothing beats climbing aboard the big John Deer fairway mower just before sunrise, and cutting stripes in the fairways!  The pay ain't much, but ya can't beat free golf!

My serious golf days are past me, and now I just play with a group of like-minded old codgers, who have as much fun shooting 95 as we do shooting 80.  We are serious that whenever anyone in any of our foursomes gets a birdie, everyone takes a hit of bourbon.   Hip replacement in 2022, lumbar decompression surgery this winter have cramped my style; the earliest that I can take a full golf swing will be mid-April at least.  So forgive me if I pray for cold rain and snow in the Midwest for all of March, 2023!🫤
