  1. Current is tough but Davis and Phil Mickelson have certainly had plenty of hype that they never have fulfilled. Phil's major drought is over but from the way he was blown up in the media when he turned pro you would have thought by now he would be neck and neck with Tiger and Vijay. All time I'm thinking Johnny Miller. He never made the impact that he was supposed to. It was played up that he would be the Bear killer and never got close. How about all time underrated? Billy Casper gets my vote.

Regardless of politics this was just priceless. I almost had to clean the coffee off of my keyboard.
  3. One season of Friends and the rest were repeats to me. Scrubs is cool. I really like "Touching Evil" on USA.
  4. I don't think any explanation was needed. Not every training aid works for every person.
  5. A fair price is what the market will bear. If the market is unwilling to pony upu 3K for a club then the seller has to deal with it. If they are smart they realize they have to drop prices and get what they can. If they aren't smart then they develop a paranoia and blame everyone else.

Here's the full press release on it. MSRP of $600. http://web3.cybergolf.com/golftransactions...ces_r7_quad.php
  7. "IT Happens" is great! I got a little coffee going up through the nose on that one.
  8. Not a bad flick. That Outsource thing on the shirt is kind of scary, you really don't want to give anyone ideas about it.
  9. The arrowanas are really cool. It's been several years but I used to keep dwarf gouramis and killifish.
  10. Great pics, keep them coming.
  11. No hating from here. TM drivers are definitely different. Never owned but have hit both a TM 510 TP tour issue and a retail and the tour was definitely the better feeling club. Didn't really take to either one but I'm sure if there was a certain club that I was able to hit that was a tour only issue and it seemed to be a great fit for my swing, I would be going nuts trying to scratch up the cash to get it. I do have to agree with jboy that the phrases mean nothing now. Prototype and tour get thrown around for a lot of mainstream products. Caveat emptor seems to fit this topic well.
  12. I've personally avoided buying anything that was a prototype or tour issue because it's not something that I had the chance to try out and see if it was right for my game. A prototype club, to me, is one that is the first in the line and may not have all of the problems worked out of it. I think it should be only the first few off the line that are used to determine if the club is worth going to full production with. I think of a "tour issue" as a club that was made specifically to fit a certain tour pro with their swing characteristics in mind. About the only "tour issue" clubs that I would like to have would be something special, like the putter David Duval used to score a 59 with or something special like that. Other than that I don't see the need to buy Stuart Appleby's Z101s and pay some extravagant amount for them. They are all wrong for me and I would have to get them worked on before I could use them. That being said, there are those who are very interested in prototype and tour issue clubs. They like the novelty and uniqueness of them, they may buy them as collectors items or to use them personally and will pay top dollar to get them. That's their choice and I won't say someone is wrong becuase they do it, it's just not my thing.
  13. I missed that, need to quit submitting posts after beer takes affect. Anyways it sounds like the buyer is a little impatient and may be after more than just the wedge. Why would someone submit a dispute while the item is being shipped? Present your facts to Paypal, if you can get the tracking number then provide it to both Paypal and the buyer and hopefully things will settle down a bit after the club arrives. Don't know what else to tell you. I can sympathize with you. I've moonlighted for a guy that owns his own networking and pc repair business and there is always a few special customers you have to deal with. Nothing was ever to their satisfaction, if they needed some type of work done when they had caused a problem or broken something (especially after they had refused to buy virus software and gotten a virus) they expected it repaired for free, complained constantly, and were generally a pain to deal with. It seemed like the main thing they wanted was to get something for nothing. Good luck.
  14. I've personally learned to be patient when buying things over the internet. I want what I ordered today to have arrived yesterday but I live in rural Arizona and have come to realize that these things take time and you have to enjoy the anticipation of something arriving. If it were me you were dealing with I would ask that you be as patient as you can, explain to me that your product has been in high demand and you are doing your best to keep up with all of the orders. Explain that when the club finally arrives it will be well worth the wait (because from all of the reviews on this board I believe that your clubs are worth the wait). If all else fails and the buyer doesn't want the club anymore then I would suggest that you ask that he not open the box upon arrival and arrange for UPS to pick it up from him. Let him know that once it comes back to you, you will refund the money.

  16. The word prototype seems to getting a heck of a lot of use lately by Aldila, GD, and others. To me a prototype is one or two models that are made to determine what changes are needed in a product after the prototype is tested and if a full scale production is needed if interest is there. From briefly checking out the GD websites all I see different between the GD U.S. version and the GD Japan versions are the graphics on the clubs. A lot of the specs are the same, though.

I'm probably half a club longer after switching from Titleist 680s. But I've made some significant swing changes that has me hitting the ball with a draw as opposed to the cut shot I was playing with the 680s. It could also be due to the swingweight being a little heavier. The interesting thing is when I compared the lofts of the Z101s to the 680s, the Z101s were a degree lower on most of the clubs. The specs I have on the Z101s came from Bridgestone so I think they are on the money. I'm checking the Titleist site now and this is the specs I get for each club: Titleist 3 - 22* Z101 3 - 20* T4 - 25* Z4 - 23* T5 - 28* Z5 - 27* T6 - 32* Z6 - 31* T7 - 37* Z7 - 36* T8 - 40* Z8 - 39* T9 - 44* Z9 - 43* TP - 48* ZP - 47* Could it be the lower loft is landing a little sooner and you aren't getting the distance you used to? Or could it be the shafts? Somebody with a little more clubmaking knowledge will probably have to answer this one.
  19. I previously played a set of Titleist 680s. Great rewarding clubs when you are on but the penalties for misses are brutal. Since I went to the Z101s I've gotten away with misses that normally would have added one or two strokes with the 680s. With the Z101s I've hit thin shots, heavy shots, and off-center shots that I was afraid to see what happened and they ended up a lot better than I ever got off of miss**ts on the 680s. All the rewards of a muscleback with the forgiveness of a cast cavity. I can see these irons staying in my bag for as long as my old DCIs did - 10 years.

Great information! I'm going to give this a shot on my Z101s when my new grips get here.

Personally, I don't get it. They look tacky and cheap to me and have absolutely no class at all. :? Not my favorites either but for those with a nostalgic taste they look like the ones my dad had about 30 years ago. The thing I would be worried about with these is they are 100% wool. Have you ever gotten a wool sweater wet in the rain? Not a pleasant smell to deal with.
  22. Very nice looking! I have the Black Rossa Monza and really like it. One thing that I would miss is being able to see the red pipes along the sightline. They seem to help in lining up a putt.
  23. I agee with Jim. I've had three different 983s--with 757, 661, and a 660TR. The sound is definitely louder than muted Tourstages, as an example, but not offensively so....I'm a stickler for such things and it didn't bother me. I get more noise from off center hits than the ones that stay in the sweet spot. The E is definitely quieter than the R540XD I had or the new Cobras I hit at the range last week. Both of those were quite noisy.
  24. I have a 983E 8.5* with the Purple Ice. Didn't get it tipped but went full insert. I have to admit that it can seem a little loud at times.
  25. Great looking set of putters. I like the look of J-Spec and Eldik on the left. I bet they roll nice and smooth.
