Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWell guys let me tell you things have been quite hectic since Sunday night. My father had a heart attack about 8:00 sunday night. My mother called me and told me to get to the house quick. I just live about 2 acres away. I get there and dad is throwing up and his blood pressure is 213/148. I walk in and get him in the car and get him to the hospital (it is shorter me taking him than waiting on an ambulance). We get there and he is about to go limp on me and the hospital staff swarms on him. They get his blood pressure down quickly and stabilize him. About 3am they transport him to Knoxville, TN to another hospital that his cardiologist works out of. I take my mom home to get some sleep and cleaned up and get back to the hospital about 4:30 am monday morning. Still no sleep. They arrive at 9:00 am to take him to get his heart cath and my mom has not made it to the hospital and my father is getting worried and does not want to be alone so I wait with him in the prep room. He was scared and I can say in 32 years I have not ever seen him scared of anything other than snakes but this was a different kind of fear. My mom makes it back to the hospital before they do the procedure and he is a bit relaxed before hand. He came out of the heart cath fine with two stints. They found that 2 of the three arteries that feed the heart were blocked but on a positive note he had an extra artery that only about 10% of the people have that made it easier on him so instead of 2/3 blocked it was 2/4 blocked. The extra artery saved his life and helped prevent him from having any damage to the heart whatsoever. I finally got some sleep around 3 yesterday. I don't know why I posted this but it feels good to get it off of my chest and I consider you guys friends. Shoe be sure to give Mac a hard time for me for stinking it up so bad on the golfwrx contest. Guys take care of yourselves and have a great week. I think mine will be a little more tame than it started (I hope) Alan

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWell guys I will have to say that I have not picked up a golf club since July 10. I am suffering from some serious burnout. I mean the last time out I played 27 holes and shot 40, 39, 37 and I was just not excited. Too much time on the golf course over the spring with the golf team. I have since taken up tennis. My wie plays and is a good player....she played through high school and then for the college we went to for 2 years until she had a pretty bad back injury. It is fun to go play with her and we are thinking of getting in a doubles league when I feel my serve is more consistent. Mike I am still very glad to hear that you keep improving. It is also good to see Lance come out of the wood work. Do you still want the Accra Tour 70? If so it is at Andy's...just get in touch with him and it is yours. Have a great weekend guys. Alan

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearGuys I just got back from 11 days in Florida. It was so nice to go there and just relax. I did play twice on a pretty easy course shot 79 and 81 but should have been much better. I can tell the rust is still there but I have been having so much fun playing tennis against my wife. A little background. She played in HS and College and is pretty good. I took up the game seriously 2 weeks ago and she says I should not be hitting the shots I am this quick...I guess that is a good thing. Mike I am also looking forward to hearing about the first round once you get to play it but the anti-ho declaration is a bit too early in the making. You know you will love the looks of the goodies posted here...you won't be able to resist just like Andy. Chris: We are still here but I think we are all busier in our lives and don't get to post as much. The Gutter Gang originally was Mike, Akfly, Pete, Chainsaw, Shoe, myself, and I think we added slicktry at a later date. I for one am glad you let this thread continue. There is a lot of very useless info in it but if you ever get really bored it is a fun read. Pete: I was at the brink of quitting myself when I remembered one key swing thought and that was to keep my weight on the insides of my feet. It keeps me stable and the whole swing came back. You will get it back just be patient. Alan

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMike I hope your operation comes sooner than later. You have been waiting a long time and hopefully the wait will soon be over. Guys I have been so busy the past three months. Things have finally slowed down with me...I can finally concentrate on my own golf. The season ended for the golf team I coached and after the way it ended I might hang it up on coaching. I have no kids in it and I am tired of dealing with the momma's and all of their bulls**t. I just hate it for the kids but it is to taxing and costly. I got 300 bucks for it and spent about 700 out of pocket on it. Hope the rest of the weekend is good for you guys.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearIt's great Pete but time consuming. I have not gotten to play much this year due to it but I always seem to slack off this time of the year playing. We have a girl on our team that plays on the boys team sometimes and plays the white tees and will shoot between 39-43 and usually win. She is a 7th grader. Beautiful swing and I don't think she ever misses a fairway.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMan Pete has returned....It's a Master's miracle. Things have been pretty good Pete. Not much new on my front other than coaching the middle school golf team this year. Don't be a stranger and let us know when you get the pics up.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMan coaching the golf team has taken its toll. 3 rounds this year is all I have gotten in. I put the TM 300 back in the bag for giggles and I need some serious range time....SERIOUS. Game is not good!!! I am looking forward to the new Scratch wedge though. About 5 more weeks of the golf team and then I can concentrate on me. That's all for now....I hink I need some Cally shovels to get the ball around...it is that bad.

TSG v.3 GRAND PRIZE WINNERS!!!
Sam I am going to enjoy it as much as the other two I already have. Everything you said is correct. I just got off of the phone with Ari and placed my order. I sent him video of my swing from all different angles along with videos of my chipping and pitching from all angles so he could see what he was working with. He said that helped a lot and has prescribed a grind with a middle relief play less bounce when square face but more when the face is opened for the bunker shots. I can't wait to get it and I will of course include pics. Thank you again to Scratch Golf (Ari) and Tourspecgolf (Chris) for the chance at recieving this prize. I am grateful. Alan

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearShoe I just got an Ogio Vaporlite and have used it once. Great straps and divider and light. The legs don't close up snug though...going to play with it a bit to see if any adjustment can be made. I can't believe I won a Scratch wedge in the giveaway. Now I will have three....woohoo. Now I just have to decide on the grind.

TSG v.3 GRAND PRIZE WINNERS!!!
I can't believe I won a Scratch wedge. I just commented the other day that I was going to try and get a Scratch sandwedge this summer. I guess Christmas comes in March. Thank you so much for this site. I have some people I call friends on here and it is a haven for when I want to escape for a bit and just enjoy my hobby/passion. This was my first forum and I have truly enjoyed it so far. Alan

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearShoe I have the driver and it is fantastic. Andy did a hell of a job with it. The Accra Tour 70 m5 is a perfect fit for me. I am really looking forward to playing more with it. I am thinking I am going to change out my 3 wood shaft also. Something more tip stiff like the Accra but lively. I am the assistant coach for the middle school golf team where I work. We should go to state with the girls. We are playing with the kids during practice...triple low ball and the winning group gets candy bars. My group won the other day and I gave out the candy bars. Then for mine I put tees in my pocket and let the rest guess how many I had in my pocket and gave it away. The kids are having fun...the old coach was a task master and the kids did not have fun. That has hurt us this year....some of our good 8th grade boys did not try out.
