Thanks for the info and that maybe the route I go.

JDM Blade/players CB with feel closest to MP-14
I have tried a lot of set of irons and the ones that had the best feel to me were the Mizuno MP-14. What JDM blade or players cb would feel really close to the MP-14? Mahalo for any information you maybe able to provide. Aloha Randy

PRGR EGG Spoon PX-03 Review
I have been thinking about this club for a while and the review was the final push I needed. So, I just ordered a 15 degree with GD EV-7. Really looking forward to getting this club. Aloha Randy

new irons
I would also say the Ping Rapture J spec. I have the V2 model and they have made a world of difference in my iron play. More GIRs that I've ever had before. Aloha Randy

Want long and straight
Then you should try the Japan Ping J spec Rapture V2 irons. I now have about 10 rounds with these irons ( 4 - PW) that are shafted with ZZ 65 shafts and I have hit more greens in regulation than any other set I have owned (and I have owned a lot) and of course that has lead to better scores. Some quick random thoughts: - I am a picker of the ball and don't have a problem with the sole - I just finished playing 5 rounds in Phoenix, where the soil is pretty hard (118 degrees during the day will do that to the ground), and didn't have a problem with these irons. - Love the less offset these have over the standard Rapture V2 irons - Although not a lot, you can still work the ball some with these irons. - Forgiveness is amazing. I have so much confidence now with a 4 iron in my hand shooting to a green 200 yards away. - If you have read some of my other posts, you will know I am a stickler on feel and don't like a click feel/sound. These don't have a great forged feel, but they really don't have click sound when hitting the ball. Sort of muted, but definitely something I can live with. - Only downside is the my HOing days for irons is over for quite a while. Aloha Randy

Reviews - Tourstage X-blade GR forged?
Tim, Thanks for the response. Think I may have to give them a try. One quick question though, do you think they are a little more forgiving than the R7 forged? Thanks Randy P.S. I did not p/u the kombi. Nice looking putter though.

Reviews - Tourstage X-blade GR forged?
Anyone tried the new Tourstage x-blade GR forged irons? I saw a set today and they look pretty nice. Might be looking to down size a little from the J spec Ping Raptures I am playing now. If you have tried them would appreciate any feedback on feel and forgiveness. Thanks and Aloha Randy

Shimada vs KBS vs DG vs PX Flighted vs NSPRO
I agree with Tim. I could never get along with the NS 950 shafts. I hit a six irons about 170 yards, so not much further than you and have found through trial and error that PX 5.0 works best for me. Second best would be DG R300 and DG S300. Aloha Randy

EPON 701 vs. Ping Rapture
Thanks for the info. As I do a little more looking, although it is hard to tell from pictures, the 701s and even the MG803s seem pretty similar design wise, which could also equate to forgivenss, to the Callaway Legacy irons I am currently playing and may not be a step in the direction I am looking to go. Anyone have any thoughts on that? The MG 803s look great, but with only being able to get 11 and SW in graphite pushes the $s past what I would want to spend. Again, thanks for the info and look forward to any other inputs. Randy

EPON 701 vs. Ping Rapture
I am looking at getting a very forgiving (GI) set of irons for the days my swing is a little off. I do like the Raptures the best of all the GI irons I have tried, but have not had a chance to try the EPON 701s, but have read nothing but good things about them. For those that have tried both, which set do you like the best and if you wouldn't mind, the reason why. Thanks in advance for any feedback you maybe able to provide me. Randy

TS 701G vs. Callaway Legacy Irons
OnOff + 09 did not make the cut, although they are a nice set of irons. The TS 701G and Legacy irons just fit my eye better with the Legacy irons making it into the bag. Played another round with them today and am still impressed with them

TS 701G vs. Callaway Legacy Irons
Finally got my new Callaway Legacy irons (3-PW, AW & SW)built and they went head-to-head with irons and wedges currently in my bag, which are the TS 701G irons and TS 901 limited wedges. I've had 3 range sessions and a couple of rounds carrying both sets in my bag. My impressions are: Looks - TS 701Gs definitely look a little better as they have a little more of a compact look, but the Callaway Legacy irons look pretty good to me, which on reading some posts a lot of people would disagree. Feel - For me it is a toss up between the two. I was surprised on how good both felt being that they both have undercut cavities. I have tried some other irons with the undercut cavities and didn't like the feel at all. Forgiveness - Edge, by some margin, but not huge, goes to the Callaway Legacy irons. Overall - I am going to go with the Callaway's. With feel being about equal, I will take some extra forgiveness over a little better looks. I would love to keep the TS 901 limited wedges as they are some of the best wedges I have tried, but lofts just don't fit. Legacy AW and SW are not bad though. Below are some pictures, although not that great: Sole view 3 - PW, AW and SW Top View (TS irons are the one on the right for each iron) Rest are different pictures of the PW. TS on right Aloha Randy

Please Tell me your wedge lofts
TS 701G PW = bent to 47 TS901 limited AW = 53 TS901 limited LW = 59

Inital Impressions of a new Tourstage putter (I think)
I just picked up a new Tourstage Putter, I think, as I don't see it in the proshop. It is the M-2P. It has some type of grooved insert in the face. Took it out to the practice green for about 2 hours this afternoon comparing it to my current gamer, which is a Ping Redwood Piper S. Some initial thoughts: Feel - this putter, to me, has a pretty soft feel, but I like it. If you have read some of my other posts on irons and etc, you will know that I really don't like a clik sound and I definitely don't get that with this putter. Weight - This putter is 34" and a swing weight of D7/D8. Conincidental maybe, but that is the swing weight I try to get all my putters at. Although I don't have a problem with adding lead tape if needed. Performance - this is where the putter really shines. The ball just seems to want to hug the ground as it leaves the putter face and distance control is better than any putter I have had. I also picked up a set of the new 701G irons and the 901 limited edition wedges and will post a review as soon as I play a round with them. Pretty impressed after one driving range session though. Aloha Randy
