  1. gocchin, Thanks for the response. Sounds like they are just what I am looking for. Have an itchy finger to pull the trigger and buy a set from Chris, but maybe I will sleep on it one night. Randy
  2. Currently playing a custom set of Mizuno irons (MP27 4-7 and MP33 8-PW). Absolutely love the feel of these, but could always use a little more forgiveness. Questions I have on the Mizuno JPX E500 irons are: - How is the feel compared to the MP27/MP33? - Are they more forgiving than the MP27? - Can the lofts be adjusted 2 degrees weaker and if so, would it affect the playability any? 44 degree PW doesn't fit with my wedges (51, 56 and 61), which I really like and plan on keeping. Any feedback on my questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Randy

As you can see in my Whats in the Bag, I am migrating towards an all most all Mizuno bag. The Royal Collection 3 wd will probably be replaced soon by a Mizuno F 50. That only leaves the driver that would be non-Mizuno. I know all clubs in bag don't have to be the same brand, but to me it would be pretty cool if I had all Mizuno clubs in the bag. So, I am looking for a Mizuno driver that is at least equal to the EPON. Searched, but couldn't find any reviews on the Mizuno JPX E500 driver. If you have tried that driver, I would appreciate any info you maybe able to provide. Aloha Randy
  4. Maybe a long shot, but WTB a used set of Fourteen TC-770 (non-forged) irons 8/10 or better. Prefer heads only as I have a set of shafts to put in them, but will consider sets that have shafts. Please PM or email me with conditon and price if you have a set you would like to sell. I can pay by paypal. Thanks and aloha Randy

I am looking at getting a more GI set of irons to rotate with a set of blades (Tour TM TP MBs) and players CB (MOZ 2030) and after 3 months or so see which set actually gives me the consistently best scores. I currently have a set of Ping Raptures for my GI irons, but find them a little bulky and more offset than I like. Getting to the Topic Title, I have played a set of Fusion irons and liked them and thinking about getting them, but am interested in the ERC Hot irons, but couldn't find much info on them. If you have tried both, I would appreciate any info you could provide on offset, forgivness, feel, able to work the ball, and etc between the two. Thanks in advance for any info you provide. randy

That sounds right. Still in really great shape. Wonder what happened to the wedges. I like to get them again, or some just like it. Aloha Randy

Good luck in your search for the MOZ 2030 irons. They are absolutely amazing, I finally got the set I originally had two years ago back. "Never say never", but don't see these leaving me again. Aloha Randy
  8. I have Black Golds in my set. I did buy a set of the R7 TP. A really nice set of irons, but didn't qite compare going head-to-head with the R7 Forged. They are probably a little more forgiving and feel pretty good for a cast club, but Iam just loving the R7 forged. Randy
  9. I have had a set now for a couple of weeks with 3 rounds of golf and some range time. Quite honestly I was a little leary of buying these because of the price, but you only go around in life once, so I decided to give them a chance. Boy, am I glad that I did. IMHO these are the pinnacle of irons. Wonderful feel, very good forgivens and you can hit a variety of shots with them. I think they have the feel of the MP67s and forgiveness of the Ping I5s. I have learned never-to-say-never, but don't see my self with a different set of irons in a very long time. If these get really hard to acquire, I might even have to consider getting a set of backups. Aloha Randy
  10. Okay, I am not a metals engineer, so what is CR20 and what is the benifit of it being used? Thanks Randy
  11. plus1 - I think they are very solid compared to irons of the same "undercut" design. A lot of the callaway models come to mind. I personally think they are more solid than the x-tours. To me they are not as solid as blades or some "players" CBs, but don't think you can expect them to be based on the design. That being said, flushed shots do a have a very buttery feel. Off-center hits seem to have a little bit of a click to them, but that doesn't bother me and the results are a lot better than what I would have gotten with with a blade of players CB. Being the Ho that I am still trying othe irons and have found nothing that comes close to kicking these out of the bag. I'm not sure I will ever find a set that has the combination of feel and forgiveness that these have. As a mid-capper (13/14), I have finally come to realize (probably knew, but didn't want to admit it) that I am not good enough to play blades or players CBs consistenly well. However, most of the game improvement irons really turned me off; to much off-set, to wide of soles, to big looking and didn't have a really good feel. I don't know if the Type X are considered game improvement, but to me they are pretty close based on forgiveness. What I really like about them: - Although they have some off-set, they don't seen to have near as much as most of the game imporvement irons. Haven't looked at the specs, but that is how it appears to me. - Soles are wide, but again doesn't appear to be as wide as a lot of the game improvement irons - Again, I haven't really measured them, but the Type X look compact compared to others. - Great feel - center "flushed" hits are about as good as any iron I have hit, off-center hits still feel good, but lets you know that you didn't flush it. - Spacing of the iron lofts - here is something I have really grown to like. I have 7 irons( 4-PW) where I would normally have 8 (3-PW). That leaves me an option to add a wedge or hybrid depending on where I play. I am probably getting a little long winded/rambling, which is a result of the passion I have for these irons right now, and will close with a quote from the Pro at my home course after he saw and hit they Type X irons: "These irons inspire confidence" . Aloha Randy P.S. I finally picked up a EPON 460 driver off of B/S/T and hopefully it will be here for my round on Saturday.
  12. Gold is okay, but mine don't have it and I think they look a little more refined. Either way, a wonderful set of irons.
  13. I have the EPON Type X and they are a great set of irons. Very forgving and great feel. Randy
  14. Just posted a similar question about drivers. I currently have the EPON Technity x type irons and am really impressed with them, so thought I would ask opions about the driver and fairway woods. Currently have a TS X-ST 15 degree FW and was wondering how it compares to the Technica 3 Wd. If anyone has hit both, I would greatly appreciate any input/opinion you have have on the two. Thanks in advance for any input you may provide. Aloha Randy
  15. I currently have a Ts x-drive 435 driver with PT-6 shaft that I really like; but being the Ho I am, I am always looking for something new and better. If anyone has tried both drivers, I would really appeciate your input (which is more forgiving, although a lot depends on shaft but which is longer and any other comments you may have.). Thanks in advance for any input. Aloha Randy
  16. I used to play almost nothing but import clubs and then I changed out to an all Ping bag about 6 months ago. Although really good irons (I5), I felt like I was missing something. I did try a few other sets ( x-blade CB, MR-23 CB, MP-32, MP-60, x-tour), but nothing could kick the I5s out of the bag. Will that changed when I tried a set of BERES TW901 irons. The Pings are sold. Following are my brief initial impressions after a couple of range sessions and one round with them: *Looks - very classic and look much better than in the pictures. I'm not a big fan of lots of off-set, thick topine or wide soles. The I5s had about as much of as I could take on any of those. The BERES fit my eye as well as any set of irons I have owned. *Forgiveness - This is where I was a little worried about these irons. I am a 13 handicap and wasn't sure if I could handle these clubs. Maybe I just had an extremely good ball striking day, but I had no problem hitting these irons solidly. I don't think they have as much forgiveness as the I5s, but more than any of the other irons I mentioned above with the exception of the x-tour. Although it has been a few months since I hit the x-tours, the TW 901s seem to me to have almost the same amount of forgiveness. * Feel - After hitting these I realized what I was missing with the I5s and that was great feel. The I5s don't feel bad, but the feel of these is exceptional. I don't know if they are forged and quite honestly don't care as they are the best feeling irons I have ever hit. * Performance - Another areas where these irons really shine. The set I got came with the graphite shafts. Although really good shafts, the overall weight was not enough for me, so I installed PX 5.5s in them. Eventhough they are about .5 degrees weaker than the Pings, I was hitting them about 8 to 10 yards further. The ball just seems to rocket off the face. Even a couple of my regular playing partners commented on this. I am pretty much a straight ball hitter, but didn't have any problems moving the ball left or right a couple of times and even hit two knock down shots with them. Just my initial thoughts. I also picked up a BERES TW 911 driver and will give my initial impressions of it after I play a round with it tomorrow. Aloha Randy

I have a FUT U2 that replaced my 3wd. It may be a little shorter hitting, but not much, however I have a lot more confidence in it. Wish they made the ViQ in 16 degree loft. Randy
  20. Mine was singing very well today. First time to use it . More detailed report later. Aloha Randy
  21. PM sent. Thanks Randy
  22. I picked up a set of Tourstage MR 23 CBs and they have Graphite Design INC shafts in them. It also says PROSPEC/TS on the shaft along with Engineered for Bridgestone Sports. Does anyone one know anything about these shafts? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Randy
