  1. Wondering how this might work out for me...I previously owned the Ryoma D1 Vspec with a Crazy CB46 7.2 and with a swing speed of about 95-98MPH. While I got a bit of extra distance with the club and it was straight, I also hit quite a few nasty duck hooks, which is not something I normally do and sold it. Didn't feel the love like many others here did but might also have been a mismatch on shaft. Any views on how the LY Ryoma combination would compare to what I had previously?
  2. There's actually a link between kamikazee suicide pilots and the samurai way of life that was all about choosing death vs defeat or capture or loss of honor. That being said, I'm not sure the suicide theme is best here. Also, Kamikazee in the US is an alcoholic drink that usually young college kids drink until they pass out, so perhaps not the best image!
  3. For years I was a big watch collector, but between golf and other activities, just too much work to constantly put on and take off, so now I simply dont wear one. Same for the younger generation. Between constantly knowing the time on their cell phones and computers, most of them, at least in the US, view watches as very old fashioned.
  4. Let me add...it's not that the button is not working, it's that it comes back with a message of "Sorry, no new content found", although when I look at the forums' there's a bunch of new stuff out there(??)
  5. I have the original iPad and not working for me. Checked my settings, but nothing seems out of place. Not sure whether or not it works with topics I follow (because I don't follow any!), but doesnt let me know of any NEW content. Used to work, now not.
  6. I have sent emails and posted this on the threads looking for input on this website, but no answers as of yet. It appears as if View New Content button is not working for the iPad. I don't know if others are having this problem, but its driving me a bit crazy. Any bug fix for this?
  7. Stunning! Love the no paint fill look and yes, reminiscent of the new Epons. Great work

Nice touch Spoon...I feel the same way about my Dad. Only problem is he has no interest in golf
  9. Probably true on the ZERO. In my case only one shaft available for me to hit that day (had just come out) and not a shaft that was kind to me in the zero combination:)
  10. Anyone hit em as of yet? I can only hope they play as well as they look...a bit nervous about clubs that look prettier than they play ala my experience with the Zero driver

LOL! The crazy situations you get into as kids.

Haha! Got into a fight in that metal shop that caused me to get suspended for supposedly starting a fight. Some dope standing in line behind me asked me while I was washing up at the communal wash basin if I was planning on taking a bath based on how much time I was taking and then gave me a bit of a shove. Instinctual reaction for me was to whip around and then uhm accidentally my elbow met his face. I won't get too graphic, but it was a bit of a bloody scene. Not a fond memory for me, but I'm sure it's a lovely putter:)

The hammered look to me looks like a project I did in metal shop when I was in high school where we took a ball peen hammer to a piece of slightly softened metal to give it the exact same look as this putter. I like the shape of the putter but would always think back to my high school days looking down on it!

For over $1000 it better make everything 50 foot and under!
  15. Pics not loading prob due to the fact that it's an old thread
  16. Do tell...
  17. 9 wedge shootout?! I'm tired just hearing that! My fitter who I trust more than most on this earth is w big believer in Scratch Tour wedges and the whole fitting process that goes along with it. Any chance you'll be including Scratch? Also, Labo only available in 59*. What's up with that?
  18. I also love my 202s which is why I don't see much else out there to replace it. Most shocking thing for me was getting on my fitters trackman with my PRGR Egg vs the 202 and the 202 was consistently longer and straighter by A LOT. I can put the most horrific swing on that sucker and its still long!
  19. I'm still amazed that epon produced such an unforgiving driver based on what they've produced in the past...just doesn't make sense. I know people say they were targeting a very small niche of "athletic" golfers, but many of us here are just that and still struggle with the beast!
  20. Im prob reading it wrong, but not sure I understand when you say the Quadra fire is X flex and you want to move to X flex(??) I have a Miyazaki kusala blue 72s in my epon 202 3 wood I would consider trading. It is a terrific shaft but my 5 epon wood has the Quadra Fire and would like the shafts to match. I'm looking for a Qaudra fire in an S flex.
  21. Any thoughts on these yuyrui wedges (we are clueless in the US about yuyuri!). Also, how do they play? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yururi-Seida-Issue-Japanese-Forged-wedges-52-and-56-degree-from-Japan-Tour-/160821401350?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Golf_GolfClubs_JN&hash=item2571b3d706
  22. Same as choking up on the club. For the most part, that's how I chip...right hand actually on the metal of the shaft. More control that way and less of a tendency to overcook the backswing.
  23. There's a raging debate on this one...most pros and fitters however go with heavier for faster greens. The logic for me initially was that heavier was best for slower greens in that more mass behind the heavier putter would equate with hitting the ball further, but the general wisdom is that heavier has you pull the putter back less and through and therefore more control on faster greens. In the end it's more a matter, like many things golf related, of personal taste.
  24. I've had vokeys in the past and they always felt "clickey" and was never thrilled with them. I know these are forged, so a whole different feel, but how would you describe the feeling?
  25. Thus far results have been mixed but the one thing I've learned about myself and new gear is that I have to give it at least 3 weeks or so to either earn it's place in my bag or on BST. I was all ready to toss my Epon 151 driver, until I realized my swing was just a bit meh and a few tweaks to my swing had me busting everything dead straight. Probably goes double for a putter, meaning I'm going to have to give it time. Also playing with the weights a bit on the greens I think screwed me up for a couple rounds. All that being said, I love the feel of the putter and I have dropped a few birds in just the last couple times out, just need to get my distance control with the Edel.
