  1. Taylormade Japan TP irons, 2008 model, 4 thru PW. Excellent condition, bought 'em on a whim and played twice. Check out the milling marks on the faces and the milling work in the cavities! Shafts are Aerotech Steelfiber i70 regular, all "Pured" from Golfsmith ($40 + $16 puring fee each). To me they play like a firm (5.0). The 5 iron measures 38.5 inches. Grips are Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound in white. Aerotech shafts are what many refer to as "the best of both worlds" shaft because they combines the control of steel with the distance of graphite. The Aerotech SteelFiber is a high modulus graphite core shaft that consists of over 59 miles of steel fiber that actually covers the surface! Each steel fiber has a diameter of 8 microns, or approximately 1/10th diameter of the human hair. The Taylormade TP forged irons are precision forged from super soft S25C Stainless Steel to give a feel and response off the clubface that any accomplished player demands - A 100% CNC-milled face and grooves deliver consistent spin and launch angle for greater shot control and stopping power with a tour-configured sole with specially-ground leading edge and softened trailing edge helps clubhead glide smoothly through and out of the turf. Minimal offset for the better ball striker and higher centre of gravity position enhances the player's ability to penetrate the ball a little lower or work the ball for increased control and accuracy. A thinner top line provides the classic 'blade' style appearance preferred by accomplished amateurs and tour professionals for that ''pure'' look with also giving a little bit of help that more than you think on a blade. A Tour Satin finish reduces glare and provides long-lasting beauty, excellent playability and outstanding durability. $600 shipped CONUS.

No problem.......I have almost exclusively played steel shafts, but have experimented with graphite four or five times. The first graphite shafts I played were in a set of Maxfli irons, and they were pretty bad! I've played a little of everything (really, almost literally). Over the past ten years the longest I've owned/played any one set of irons is six months, maybe less. I've tried almost every steel shaft imaginable. These shafts, being graphite, are much less harsh feeling (softer) than most steel shafts. They have a lively kick but do not balloon the ball as do some graphites I have tried. They are just really smooth shafts, fun to hit. Really hard to pin down, but in my view there is no "downside" to these shafts at all when compared with comprably weighted steel. Good luck!

I have now had time to play my newly shafted driver (Quadra Fire Express; TaylorMade R9 SuperTri) and irons (Matrix Ozik Program HD 95; '09 TaylorMade Tour Preferred) a half dozen times or more. Gary (Goodsie) installed the shafts along with Tour G Multi Compression grips, all purchased from TSG. I can honestly say these head/shaft combinations are the best I've ever tried, and I have owned many of the best (most expensive) sets of irons and drivers out there, including many Japanese models. These are expensive shafts and clearly not for everyone, but in my opinion well worth the money. Gary is a terrific guy and I can't say enough about the level of communication and feedback that I received from him throughout the process. I am particularly pleased with the graphite shafts in my irons. I will NEVER go back to steel after playing these shafts. They are absolutely perfect for me. The Quadra in the R9 is just awesome. Long and accurate on all but the worst swings. I am a happy man!
  5. Near new Dance With Dragon DWD 2010 SL Driver Headcover, green and white in color. material is polyurethene with custom stitching and inlays. Magnetic closure. I assume "SL" may stand for "super long" since this headcover extends pretty far down the shaft for extra protection. Probably the nicest headcover I've ever owned quality wise, and I've owned some WinWin Style covers as well over the years. This one just doesn't go with my current bag style-wise, and I'd rather have the cash. Paid $85 plus shipping from Japan, asking $75 shipped.

    PM gocchin.
  7. I have also owned both (Baby blades and the Epon blades); don't have alot to add to the views already expressed, but the Miuras are one of the "top 5" set's I've owned that I have REGRETTED selling. And I know it is a cliche, but I truly have owned quite a few "high end" JDM and non-JDM iron sets in my day. Sigh..........

The Tour G's are pretty damn nice. Got them on my irons and driver, but due to bad weather here in Virginia haven't been able to play 'em. Think I'll like 'em though.

I'm a 10 handicap and am currently playing the Burner TP irons (4-PW) with the Nippon 950 stiff shafts. They are just a really cool set of irons. I've had a mixed set of the Epon 302 and blades this year and while they are beautiful the TM's fit my eye better. I like the smoke finish and thin top line plus minimal offset. The longer irons (4-7) have just enough size to them to instill a bit more confidence, and the scoring irons are perfect. I've used the Nippon 950 shaft in many, many sets of J-spec irons and they just work well for me.

Hey, thanks for the info. I received mine last week. It is a 9.5 with a Bassara Griffin Tour prototype shaft. We've had snow on the ground here almost all winter so I haven't had a chance to hit it. Headed to Orlando the first week in March though and intend to give it a good test along with my new Epon irons and putter. Look of the face on this club is interesting.....almost looks like chrome.....
