  1. What does NVG stand for anyway? A friend of mine said it means "Not Very Good" and I can't get it out of my head now. Maybe knowing what it really stands for will help me. :tsg_smilie_rolleyes:
  2. How come the "Mizuno" name isn't on the back? Like this
  3. Youa re joking right ?? HELP selection ?? Nobody knows what these number mean, each manufacturer will use a different system and use a different processes for generating it. Things can only get more complicated !!! No I wasn't joking. I'm tired of spending mucho bucks experimenting with shafts. I'm sure there will be a better system to come out to select shafts, like shaft profiling. But I would agree the shaft manufacturers will resist and prefer we all remain in the dark.
  4. Can someone explain the stiffness numbers to me? What does a mid stiffness of 7.8 mean, what is the scale? what is the units of measure? Is this something we can expect to see on all new shafts to help selection? I hope so.
  5. Looks just like my Kirk Currie San Saba! Except, I have adjustable weights in the sole and butt end! :smile1:
  6. I answered this in the other thread but if you go to www.usga.org and check out the conforming ball list their are 5 different versions of the Nike One Golf TW ball. One of those balls is the One Platinum. Nike just stamped it different to fool the Darrel Survey people. So its one of those 5? Can you be sure? This seems to open up a can of worms. Since its Tiger Woods is involved nobody wants to say anything. However what if it was, say Steve Jones who started out as the 1000 ranked player this year and started to outdrive Tiger? I can hear him now-"I using one of those Nike Golds, ha ha. It appears now you can put any stamp on any ball and get away with it. Who checks balls before a tournament? Anyway, with an approved stamp on a pirate ball who would think its not OK? Bad way to run golf.
  7. about to say the same thing. doesnt it violate the usga rules. Could it be a Nike One Platinum that has been approved by the USGA but not released to the public yet? Bert-B I understood that to use a ball in competition it had to be listed on USGA's conforming ball list. Go to the web site, I see no listing of a NIKE platinum with gold cloaking markings. Therefore, the ball must be illegal and Tiger should be DQ'ed for all events this year.
  8. I saw Golfsmith is selling an R7 HT on their web site today.
  9. My clubmaker handed me two models to demo, the 400 and 440 cc. The TW400 10* w/Harrison striper-R. forged b-ti face. I liked this one better. Nice black with chrome finish. Solid feel AS440-forged 10* sp-700 face w/fugi vp60 r. Black with satin finish. I am losing interest in any head larger than 400cc. I just don't care to weild a toaster on a stick and have to tee them up so high. Both heads sported what they call an airflow stabilizer slots on the heel ala the old Hogan woods that were called a speed slot. Invisible at address, not sure they do anything. Don't know much about them yet, not sure if I would buy them since I didn't ask the price yet. There are so many options out there.
