SIX SHAFT SHOOTOUT @ Inpakuto.com
ALL4: Great data... some of the best I've seen.... the clear take-away on this is: Sub 110 SS players NEED LOFT and SPIN, period. This mantra about high launch low spin is NOT helping mere mortals gain distance. For a 105ish SS you need 14 DEGREES of loft!!!!! And spin in the 2500ish range. SOooo forget about your ego, get a higher loft driver, period. Example: eyeballing the number IF Tanaka got a driver with 2 degrees more loft (11.5) and used the Rombax-- it would win among the other competitor shafts. ALL4 see if running those numbers don't optimize Tanaka with the rombax and adding 2 degrees more loft... and then try adding 3 degrees more loft -- which should be even better... Thanks

SIX SHAFT SHOOTOUT @ Inpakuto.com
Thanks... I really enjoy inpakuto... Agree with everything you said... BUT I'd even go further and say that the results were not merely based on Tanaka's swing-- because I dare say even based on the data, some tweaking of the tested products would yield VERY different results even for him...

SIX SHAFT SHOOTOUT @ Inpakuto.com
Very interesting article... but not sure one can conclude much if anything other than GET FIT ON A MONITOR!! For example, the Diamana had way too low spin and therfore maybe something as simple as a switch to a ProV higher spinning ball would make that the best performing shaft. OR, the ballspeeds off the clubface with the AXIV were WAY low and bring that up to equilibrium with the 109ish of the other strikes and PRESTO that one would be the bomber. So, point is there's more to the raw data than meets the eye... in the end its about PROPER fitting... MAXIMIZING (ie., high launch, low spin, greatest ballspeeds) your numbers... and what FEELS best. JAT...

gauge design handmades
NAH... read more closely...I HAD three... Plus 1 was a beneficiary of a weak moment... and so I have 1...

gauge design handmades
NO!!!! Sorry Chris, this is a strength of the set-- most JDM sets have PW and 9-irons that look like shovels (my gauge FCBs included!!)... these are beautifully sculpted and smaller profile-- best looking CB design Gauge has ever done IMHO... Hmmmm... 100 sets and I had THREE!!!!!

Gauge/G Field Irons
Yes the ones on the bottom are the handmades...identifying marks, among other things, are they have the red caliper, and say "Studio" and "Handmade" in the cavity and have the Gauge Design in script on the bottom below the cavity as opposed to the sole.

EPON 460 any reviews?
Hmmmm.... its the recent converts that always sing loudest in church on Sunday... :tsg_smilie_money3: Just kidding- this combo ROCKS for many, particularly swings in the 105-110 SS range.

Japanese Drivers: If I was going to pick just one....
I don't think about resale value-- I think about the perfect gamer. For me its the Epon w/Axiv... want to know whats in the garage-- just about every Tour issue that Nike, Cleveland, TM, Titleist, Cally and B'stone has put out in the last four years-- in 9.5 and 10.5!! So thats quite an endorsement for the Epon and Axiv. I like the 460 more than the 415-- more foregiving (though the 415 is the more classic looking pear shape).

Japanese Drivers: If I was going to pick just one....
Since you have the B'stone 460 as a gamer, then based on that inference of your likes and dislikes, the best switch would be to the Epon 460. Time will tell on the new TS X-Drive, but in the past those have been less foregiving than say the Epon.

OZIK by Matrix ( TP-7, Code 6, Altus, and more! )
Axiv V Spec is the best shaft I've ever hit-- but they are different than US spec and don't confuse the flex listed as being on the Rifle/US scale-- way softer... I'm playing a 7.2 and its barely a stiff!!!

Longest, hottest face driver
Perhaps I'm misreading your question... but COR is just one variable in the distance equation (and it is .83 or .86 max)... However, there are high and low launch heads, and additionally there are high and lower spin heads, matching the correct properties to YOUR swing will yield better distance for you...

Srixon Z-Ti Driver
Save your money... pick something up used... that's FOREGIVING and work on your game... no need to get a fancy rig and spend the $$ until it will be noticed ... work on your game and your feel and ability... THEN buy the premo rig

OZIK by Matrix ( TP-7, Code 6, Altus, and more! )
415 Epon is NOooooooowhere near as foregiving... stick with the 460.....

Anyone have closeup pics of TS-202
The 202s are very sweet-- the first real players cb with a channel back sole. It was progressively deep channel in long irons with a tungsten weight, on down to no channel in the 9 and PW (with a forging more like the solid forging cavity in Z101 in the 9 and PW). Kinda clunky looking in short irons but very foregiving set.

FT-3 with PT-6?
How does it compare to the AXIV V Spec... I've never been a fan of GD in the past-- but I haven't played the AD series... hard to imagine it could be better than the AXIV. But fill me in... I like a nice kick (hence a softer tip) but with stability... Spare no detail and compare the two...
