  1. Have not tried the B330 but if 330 means the number of dimples then that is one difference there already. The X-01 I believe has 362.
  2. Have you gotten your DFI yet? I am about to get one with a Diamana S flex. Being so light do you think it can handle my 100-105 swingspeed with a little rough transition? I am getting it unseen and untested, the price just seems to good to pass up and the pics look good. Problem is they don't have the Ignite G option, just the 48 grammer Diamana. Let me know your feedback, and if you haven't received you club yet then try to give me a more detailed account of your testing with the club. Jovi
  3. Hard to imagine Tourstage making the ViQ have a thin topline when that is the club they have for the hacker market. Jovi
  4. That's just the 3rd generation of the ProV1 392. It's not actually a zero but a dot that perhaps got worn off. The generations are as follows: ProV1392 P r o V 1 3 9 2 <Pro V1 . 392> <.Pro V1 392.> Jovi
  5. Other than the serial number, I'd like to highlight what xxio said. The Tour TP also doesn't come with the 8 extra weights. Also, having a Tour TP is great with the chicks. You can tell them you have a tour only serial number, you will get ooohs and ahhhs and you will gain more confidence. In the end, it will actually improve your driving and you game. Jovi
  6. The main difference is the serial number.
  7. What are the shaft options of the R5 Tour and how does it differ in appearance from the regular R5? How many CC is it? Finally, when does it come out? Thanks. Jovi

They're expensive simply because they are Japanese. Anything marketed in Japan is expensive - perhaps due to a higher cost of living? Even cd's in Japan are priced higher. So the higher price is not related whatsoever to a quality issue. As a matter of fact, some high priced Tourstage balls have lower prices USA Precept equivalents. Jovi
  9. Do you have a list of the most used brands and models of golf balls? Thanks. Jovi
  10. No paintfill. It doesn't matter anyway. Just put paintfill on the sightline... that is all that is important. See what contrasts better to the putter color, either black or white. Jovi
  11. No, I'm pretty sure from my Japanese translator friend that the first is downwind and the second is upwind.
  12. Taken from Japanese Weekly Golf Digest No. 8, 2004, with Michelle Wie on the cover. Player A is a professional with a 49 m/s clubhead speed (or 110 mph) and uses a Taylor Made R580 driver. Player B's clubhead speed is 45 m/s (or 101 mph) and he uses a 360cc driver - not sure what brand. I cannot understand Japanese so I didn't quite get all the parameters of the test (such as wind speed, if the distance is just carry or with roll, how many tries did the tester get, etc.). I start with the player (A or B) then the first succeeding column is driver feel rated from 1 to 5. The second column is driver trajectory rated from 1 to 5. The third column is driver distance downwind (with the wind). The fourth column is driver distance upwind (against the wind). The fifth column is wedge feel on a scale of 1 to 5, and the sixth colum is wedge spin on a scale of 1 to 5. I personally find this data quite useful because there are really numbers involved, especially the downwind and upwind distances. There were other balls in the test but they were only Japan-only balls so I didn't include them, except for the Tourstage models which the Japanese players in the US Tour use. I am not sure about the accuracy or methodology used, but I am sure that the magazine is tied up with the US Golf Digest so they are of high reputation in Japan. And the Japanese are usually perfectionists with great meticulous precision, so I don't think the results here are total trash. After all, the did publish it in a magazine and it has actual numbers (unlike US Golf Magazine or Golf Digest which just aims to please all subscribers). So just take this info for what it is and hope it can help you guys in finding the ideal ball for you. Jovi
  13. umm... who's Tiger? Wow, you don't know who Tiger is? Where have you been? Maybe you didn't take up golf yet yet in 2000. Tiger was a great golfer back in his heyday, drawing comparisons to Nicklaus. If you want a point of reference, try catching Phil, Vijay or Ernie play nowadays and that is a glimpse of Tiger during his heydey back at the peak of his powers. I guess now Tiger isn't as popular because he is past his prime already so that could be why you haven't heard of him. Kinda like in the Champions Tour now, not many new fans know Trevino or Chichi but back in their day they were so popular. Perhaps you'll hear a little more about this guy named Tiger in a few years when he gets to the Champions Tour which is not so far away. Jovi
  14. How much for a cutom set with satin finish? The one where I can choose where the M will be stamped and have my initials stamped? Just drop me a PM if you can get these for me. Jovi
  15. Macgregor back in `99 had a very very similar (identical?) set called the PCB Tour. PCB stood for Progessive Cavity Back. It was a very very workable and effectice cavity back. So I'd say this set should be a good set, being very similar to one of the best forged cavity backs of all time --- the Mac PCB Tours. I'll try to post pics on my Mac PCB Tours when I can so it can be compared to this beautiful babies by Ari. Jovi
