I am contemplating a new set of sticks, I have used Mizuno forged MX-20's for several years. I am a 17 handicap and I have just moved to Sarasota, Florida. I will be golfing more frequently and I desire to challange my game. Of the following Irons, please rate them from most forgiving to most demanding for a smooth swing profile. TS 2010 X-blade 703, Epon 2010 AF-502, Yamaha 2010 XV Forged, TM Japan 2009 Burner Forged, Japan Mizuno MP-52 Forged. Please rank these for me so I can decide how demanding I want to push my game in the future. Thanks, Kent

Hello GBS, I noticed you have both a TS 58* wedge and a Epon 58* wedge in the bag, how do you get along with either or both? What can you say about the 701's? Thanks, Kent
  4. wanting to know if the new 2008 V-Wedge by TS is S20C or S25C forged? Also, i beleive the pic on the pro shop page may be of the wrong wedge :) thanks, Kent

Just located a unique 3 & 5 wood on the PRGR site called the Egg Spoon or PX-03. The shape looks as though it would be forgiving and get the ball up easily. Is this item made in China or Japan? Any in hand pictures available of these yet? Item says it is made of SUS630 & Ti-6AI-4V. New item??? Thanks, Kent
  6. WoW! Love the style to these, do you have a pick from the sole & face? How good must you be to play these?...equivalent to say Mizzy 27's, 57's, or 60's? Just a super looking CB Kent

Just a quick question, Is the undercut on the AF701 from 3 Iron to PW? Is the AW & SW also undercut with the steel insert or is it a solid forging of 1020? Thanks, Kent
  8. I have been an avid reader for some time now and am interested in the following info from those who have played or held the following irons (I really gravitate to these 4). Fourteen forged 550 Tourstage 2007 VIQ Forged Mizuno 2007 forged JPX Epon forged 701 I was wondering how they would be catagorized with one another in the following ways. I realize that in some area's the difference may be minute... 1) most to least forgiving 2) soft to harder/clicky feeling 3) mid to larger head size 4) thinner to wider sole 5) least to most offset I play Mizuno MX-20's for 4 years with TT dynalite gold 300S shafts (120g low kick). I want my next set to probably have GD 85's or 95's in stiff, graphite for sure. I am improving each year and would like a set I can stay with even if I get down to under 15 hcp. Any and all productive comments are welcome. Thanks, Kent
  9. I am confused as to why this individual is reading into text things that the text does not say. It is almost as though the individual wishes there were mis-statements made. In any case, I have never found this site & staff to be anything but honest and upfront with information. Cudo's to Chris & Jackie for always providing excellent and accurate descriptions and information. my 2 cents. Kent

I was on the PRGR site looking for the head size of the tour Hit 18 degree 5 wood. The site lists the 3 wood as 165 in size, was curious to the size of the 5 wood.... anyone know? thanks in advance Kent
  11. Gocchin, Do you think there is any difference between the new FD forged & the Old SFI forged? I assume both are from Endo....is it just a re-badging of sorts? Just curious. Kent

forum posters... I currently use TT dynalight gold in Stiff flex at 118g. I was wondering who here has tried the following, Shimada K7001 which is about 96g in stiff, Nippon 1050 which is about 106g in stiff, Tour AD graphite 85 which is 89g in stiff. I beleive all of these are mid kick. What are the thoughts on performance if I were to swich to one of the above three shafts...recommendations? Thanks, Kent

Hi Chris, to your knowledge, do you think the bounce options will remain the same? I liked the fact the AF Wedge had 6* bounce on the 52* & 60* wedge? Thanks, Kent

Gocchin, You mentioned that the new "2008 SLE" is kicking in on a previous post above. What is this? I assume it pertains to drivers based on the post information. On another note: How does the Nippon 950, 1050, 1150 iron shafts compare with Shimada 3001, 7001, or AC10 shafts? Is there any type of chart available to show the characteristics of each? Thanks, Kent
  15. They are offering the New Tour Ad MD (blue) shaft on their web sight, in liew of the quatro tech shaft. Kent
  16. Spoon, What was the difference in ball flight between the two. Was the Nippon 1150 a lower or higher ball flight than the Black Gold? Where they the same flex?, Did one balloon or carry more than the other? Just curious. I am thinking of going to graphite shafts, but if I stay with steel I have narrowed down to BG, 1050, or 1150. Thanks, Kent

Saw a few pictures recently of the AKIRA brand ADR products. wondering if anyone has played this line, how is the quality. looks forgiving for the plus 18 handicap player. I like the style of the double sole wedge as well. Any reviews or comments? Thanks, Kent Haas
  19. Hey T, If you were to compare the 460D from Yamaha to the 460 Epon, what would you say to distance, feel, forgiveness, etc. for someone between a 16 to 20 Handicap. You are the source of Knowledge to all us hackers here in the states :) Kent
  20. Gocchin, That was a fantastic post, Thanks for the hard work involved! Kent
  21. I am 17 hcp, with a sweepers swing, & a 42 m/s driver head speed. I play in the north east of the states so the ground is usually firm. Between the Taylor Made R7 Forged (which has received accolades on this forum over the past year) and the new Fourteen TC-550 Forged Irons, can anyone compare the following characteristics: Forgiveness, head size, offset, width of sole, top line, etc. I love the pure look of the Fourteen, but the R7 is at such a great price currently. Any advise would be apreciated...expecially side by side pictures of face, sole, top line. Kent
  22. I have played the Precept U-Tri Tour over the past two years. They were discontinued last year, but can be found for under $20 in some places. I tried the TS V10 ball last year (1st edition) when it came out 2 years ago, but I did not like the feel or flight. My swing speed with driver is 42.5 m/s, and a good drive is around 255. touch shots from the wedge are great for feel and spin for me. I would love to hear how the new Srixon, TS, or XXIO balls would compare. Has anyone who played the Precent U-Tri Tour played any of these? Kent
  23. Forte, Do you find the transition between the J-speck and the V3 difficult at all, since one is for a high capper and one is for a low capper? any issues at all using 3 different wedges? Kent
  24. Nice tourspec setup, Chris! great collection as always. I am suprized to hear you settled in on the black gold shafts, with all the import shafts talked about in this forum, I figured on one of them in your bag. How do they differ from say the Nippon 1150's, or even the new Roddio Iron shafts for comparison? Thanks, Kent

Wondering who still has the Mizuno JPX 500 Irons still in play? If you moved on to another set...why? I am loving the looks of these more and more, I play MX20's, the precurser to the MX23 & MX25. For those who can compare....how is the feel and forgiveness? Since the cavity is thin...do they still feel soft? Would love any advise you can bestow Thanks, Kent
