MR-23 CB's - Shaft fitting
I can't say enough good things about Paul at Shreveport Golf. He has put together many clubs for me, including a set of Miuras which he put Nippon NSPro 1050s in and weighted them progressively throughout the set. He spent a LOT of time getting them just right too. He's a class guy and does great work! I send him all my clubs from New Jersey, so that should say something in itself.

Reshafting a crappy club
Guys, a friend of mine bought some Northwestern Oversize driver for $35 new. The shaft, though, is REALLY whippy, even for someone who just started golfing this year. He'd really like to reshaft it with something cheap. What do you suggest? A YS-6 pull? (If anyone has one, please let me know.) Suggestions welcome! Thanks

Primo's final rant of the year...
Nah, I wouldn't call it a cult. Chris is just very persuasive. What? You mean you've never seen a pic of Chris before? Here you go...

Primo's final rant of the year...
Well, let's be honest. Will there ever be an completely unbiased golf forum? No. Why? Because every review that's completed, every new purchase evaluated, every opinion asked, gets met w/the same response....an opinion. There isn't 100% complete objectivity in anything in life. We are able to surf this site for free. We can express our opinions for free. We can post items for sale w/out fee. We can buy the same items for sale in B/S/T for sometimes A LOT less than in the catalog -- we are not charged. Above all, we can say really whatever we want here without censorship or fear of being banned. This site is NOT geared toward the 14 year old. Clubs are too expensive, b/c of exchange rates, import taxes, yada yada yada. But every site has to have a marketing plan. A target audience. A goal. A business plan to keep itself afloat and make a profit. Look @ any other golf board and you'll see sponsors. Is there a big coincidence that those sponsors start lots of threads and have generated interest in their equipment? Heck no. But I don't think there's anything wrong w/that. BTW, I really do think that Chris does a good job of reviewing clubs. Obviously he has a vested interest in things, but he's not threatening anyone who sells something identical or ramming one brand down our throats. There are not as many posts here as I would like. Why? I don't know. But when the weather turns cold, I believe that'll pick up. But it's still better than seeing these threads every week: "Mickelson...a V Steel?" "Tiger wears white shoes" "Tommy55's bag is out of control!" (my apolgies if there's really a Tommy55  ) Man, that gets tiring. :tired:

WTB Tourstage F/UT 19
The shaft is a Nippon NSPro 950 stiff flex. These have a little more kick than (more tip soft) than the 1050s. I just don't like graphite in FW woods too much and hate it in hybrids. I'm actually going to put a 950 in my 3 wood next week--but anyway. It's my go-to club for all types of situations. If you're looking to fill the gap like you say, I'd go for the 16. The standard shafts are a little shorter, so the ball does not fly as long as, say a TM 19° rescue (which suck :spit: ). I can find out if a friend of mine can get a steel shafted for you (not sure how much though).

WTB Tourstage F/UT 19
I have one in steel shaft & I wouldn't give it up for the world. Aside from the fact that I acts like an incredibly easy to hit 3 iron from the tee, fairway, rough and sand, it's a phenominal chipping club. I've chipped in 5 times this year with it :smile1: -- an 0 with any wedge.

General BS Thread
HipCheck replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearGlad to see this thread come up again. Tough weekend for me. My wife's father died on the 100th floor of the Trade Center. It's amazing how much it still hurts to this day. It's tough to see things like college football start on Sept. 11th, even though it's 3 years later. I guess because you lose someone your so close to in such a public way, you know your Sept. 11th will never ever be normal. I understand and realize the importance of getting on with our lives, but for some of us, it can't fully happen. For 9/11 victims, their lives represent so much. My country is at war because of their death -- with not one, but two countries. Most deaths aren't captured on tape and replayed a billion times over. It's a really heavy feeling, especially since the whole attack was pointless and cowardly. Sorry for the rant guys. Just a tough weekend. We knew about 50 people who died :)

Gauge Design Question - Japan vs USA
There has been a lot written on this issue. You should do a Search on some of those keywords and you will find a ton of info. I tried to search on this the other day, but I think the post was either deleted or lost when the new board went up. Couldn't find it (the one w/GaugeDesignGal, etc.)

Gauge Design Forged CB vs Mizuno MP-27 Plz Help
The Gauge have more offset as you get to the shorter irons, which is opposite of most companies, in the US market anyway. So in otherwords, the PW has more offset than a 3i. Why? I have no idea :-D

HipCheck replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearJust saw it. Apple just kicks a** on every other computer manufacturer out there. I'm typing on a PowerBook right now drooling on the keyboard after seeing the iMac. Apple rocks. Glad to see that there is at least one other Mac geek here beside's pete and myself . I can't wait till the local mac store has got one in so I can at least go down and drool over it   Well, I'm no Apple geek, though I probably should be b/c of it's use in graphic development. Anyway, I did just buy an iPod mini though, and once I accustomed myself to the backassward interface, I must say I pretty psyched. It's a cool little machine...Anyone else have one?

WTT / WTS: Gauge Design GAS1 Wedge
9/10 condition. 57°. Black finish removed to look raw, but still appears black -- just not shiny. Reshafted with DG Wedge flex shaft and Miura Cord grip. I'd trade for a 53°/54° (new) Vokey or used Scratch in similar condition. Pics available. Wedge looks like this: (I have 4 wedges that are 56/57 degree -- need to move the one in best shape).

Finally! I'll let go this wedge. :) Should I?
How about as the ultimate 'thank you' for the JK flash banner as well as my never ending gratitude
