  1. Now that would be interesting!. Would 23* be a good replacement for the 3 iron? Will look forward to this and what shafts are available.
  2. Nice. Seems to have more offset than my Forged L, but love the feel of the original Forged L.

Good to hear, and I am glad things worked out for you as well. I too sympathize with the snow thing. I got some slightly used NC-1 with 1150 and plus 1/2 inch, which is the perfect setup for me.(and I mean slightly, I am almost afraid to get them dirty). Unfortunately I will have to wait 3 more months here to be able to really try them, other than hitting into a net, or chipping with them in the basement (always a wife pleaser). Hearing your comments, has got me all the more impatient. :tsg_smilie_cool:
  4. I know that my game will not improve tremedously because I just bought new irons, wedges, and putters. I find it interesting that the fact that my irons say made in Japan on them is a good thing. Back in the 70's (yeah I am getting up there) made in Japan was thought to be not so good. I would say logically that my game is not worthy of the clubs I bought, but I enjoy it, can barely afford it, and I know I like having something more unique. Quality wise, though golf does not start here for another couple of months, the feel and look are worth the money based on chipping and pitching downstairs. So once again, emotions can rule over logic anyways :tsg_smilie_rolleyes:
  5. I had looked at these in the past. Have they started to do leather covers yet. At that time they weren't, but they indicated they would in the future. I think most of these are a vinyl type of cover?

Seen the pics you had of the Fairway woods. Very nice. You could always pm me a price. But, I would really like to see pics of the NC-1s and what they are going to sell for. I am sure I would never see these in retail stores in central Canada until 2007. things are so slow getting into our small market, damn near obslolete by the time they arrive. The cast irons sure look nice....but I already have callaway Fusions :tsg_smiley_no: Want to see the forged :tsg_smilie_wah:

I agree, that is a good strategy, makes the product available to more and gets there name out there, then those die hards can step up to the better models. Will Wedges and Irons be coming as well, or just their putter line up? That is to say, what are the chances an NC-1 type iron hits the NA market

This question probably is for Chris. I am wondering if you can tell us more about this G-Field movement. I understand this will be there foray into the North American Market. Wondering, given other posts about the price/quality vs price/marketing/american price point etc, will these clubs be of the same quality as the Gauge Design are today in Japan, and if so, how will they fit in price point wise. Maybe you are not privy to all that information, but what ever you shed on the subject would be great. Like when they are hoping to hit North America (Canada?) Curiosity may have kiiled the cat, but at least he went smiling :tsg_smiley_yes:

Would love to be able to help you out, so frustrating when all this good stuff is available but won't ship to Canada :tsg_smilie_wah: Think I have to find me a pen pal in the States :tsg_smiley_yes:
  10. Purrddddyyyy. I will be really interested in how you see this compared to the 505, which seems to be getting great reviews.
  11. If you click on the Japanese script to the left of the word "Studio" the page will come up in English. Stumbled on that last night. Not sure if this link will take you to it or not http://www.gaugedesign.co.jp/Products/Prod_main.html

Thanks Chris, the charts in the post do not have tip diameters, but checked the Nippon site, either a 940mm or 902 mm. Maybe will just let my clubfitter check and then order.
  13. karjar replied to Phillip Alexander's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
does anyone know what the tip diameter is on the NSpro shafts? I was thinking of trying the UST frequency in my crafted edition ONE. When I put my calipers on the shaft I get a .360 reading, UST is in the .353 and .370 (from memory). any sites I find with specs I cannot read...non english
  14. Finally a Volvo that looks REALLY nice. Great taste there Chris, in cars and accessorizing. Now throw a set of NC-1's, Tourstage Xdrive 435, in the trunk and ship it over seas and I will trade you straight up for my Jetta :tsg_smiley_yes:
  15. Ok, now I know why I can't keep up to all you guys with clubs. Driving a 2004 Jetta TDI Wagon. Sold my 2002 Audi 2.8 Quattro. Got tired of going 300 klms on $50 worth of Premium, when I could go 1000 klms on $40 worth of diesel. Love the Cudas (my dream car from the 70's). Must admit that I find it interesting that alot of the muscle car movement in the 70s died due to Gas shortages and fears. Now we have the same concerns but the big 3 just keep pumping out bigger faster, more gas guzzling vehicles....go figure. But I have to admit that Toyota on order loofed real nice.

  18. karjar replied to matt411's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Didn;t see this one in your catalogue Chris. Price? Avalability? Plus1's money?

  20. Cameron...been there done that a number of times. They are all gone now and replaced by Gauge Design and Slighter. Better quality, better value, and I don't feel like I have been swept up by the Cult. :tsg_smilie_money3:
  21. My finding is that they are crisp. they feel firm like vokeys and yet softer. In one other post, I likened it to the feel of a cameron Platinum putter compared to a studio design. the platinum can feel firm, yet it is soft with more of a click to it. I like the crispness of these SQBTS, yet the feel is more like a a nice soft wedge, and as mentioned above, this does not infer that they are hard, they are soft, but crisp.
  22. Then you better keep the mb2's and sell me the NC-1s :) Oh and did I mention it is christmas and better to give then receive :) My SQBTS and crafting edition The One are getting homesick and need more GD's in the bag
  23. I had ordered the GAS 1 Forged, Chris put the order in correctly, but Gauge Design inadvertantly sent the SQBTs. Chris was more than willing to make things right. But after trying them off the carpet downstairs lightly (while still in plastic) I decided I would keep them. Now with th plastic off, I would say these feel firm like my Vokeys, but have better feel feedback, if that makes sense. They are a soft but crisp feel. Think cameron platinum putters compared to studio design. I also didn't want to shred balls too much and so have kept the SQBTS. Wish I could give you first hand feedback on the GAS1 forged, but I haven't tried them. Plus1 definitely has the best insight there.
  24. great idea, great site, . If I stutter do I get more posts :) Great Job Chris and sponsors! thanks, have referred in the past to my friends and golf collegues.

Ah yes, the 506's don't mention tungsten weights, and while the pictures are hard to tell, the 505's do seem to look real nice. So for a guy who shoots in the 82-85 range playing only 12 times last year (this will get fixed this year!) I am looking for a certain amount of pick it up and hit up, type club, yet still want to have the feel and feedback to improve while practicing (which I do alot), and be able to work the ball. So what might be the best solution, Gauge Design NC-1, Srixon i-505, Tourstage X-blade CB 2? I should mention that in the past it has been my short game costing me 5-6 shots per round. Worked real hard on that this summer, and with my new GD GAS 1SQBTs, and new GD crafting edition "the One" putter I am looking to a great new season. also swing speed with driver is about 95, 5 iron about 86. feedback, thoughts anyone?
