  1. Thanks vincenti. Not really much to go on for a $1,300 set, eh? If they've sold "lots" and no one is posting about it, that is a very bad sign, IMO.
  2. Wow no one has played these things!? That almost makes me want to get them because no one else has 'em.
  3. Has anyone played the Miura PP9001? These are pretty nice looking, but I'm wondering how they play. Soft? Forgiving?
  4. Hey I play soft-stepped X100s! Try all this stuff out and report back, please LOL! I glue hardwood dowels in the tips of my X-100s, and also install ProSoft inserts. You still get that accurate, beefy performance, but with a more muted, smoother feel. Nothing else has come close for me so far.
  5. A micrometer is a very very handy tool for clubmaking. I used it to ID shafts, hosel diameters, selecting ferrules, etc.
  6. I like the guy. He tells it like he sees it and isn't afraid to piss off the pros.
  7. Personally, I thought the old towers were ugly and uninspired, but they did become icons of NYC. I think the freedom tower and accompanying buildings were an outstanding design (before David Childs got his ham hands on them). I think the FT would enhance the NY skyline in a way that Trump's proposal could not. I think that whole complex could become something special and truly commemorate those who were lost. IOW, replace it with something even better. I remember the controversy over the design of the Vietnam Memorial in DC. There was a bunch of vocal opposition because it was not a "traditional" war memorial design. Once it was built, everyone saw the beauty and elegance of the design. I think this is what will happen with the FT.
  8. I've bought two phones on eBay. Both purchases worked out very well. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

The best books for me: Butch Harmon's Playing Lessons Rotella's Golf is not a Game of Perfect and The Golfer's Mind Pelz Putt Like the Pros and Short Game Bible Harold Swash's Championship Putting DVD (ok, so it's not a book-it's brilliant!) 8 Traits of Champion Golfers Going Low Currently reading: Zen Golf Golf: How Good Do You Want to Be? 10. Try Dana Upshaw over at GEA. I think he put in a full putter fitting studio last year. It looks like a pretty cool setup. You can find his contact info here: http://dcalcote.zforums.net/websites/4gea....m/dana/dana.htm
  11. It is a .355 taper. That comes directly from tech support at Hogan, and confirmed in the several Hogan hybrid reshafts I've done.
  12. That was my plan too! Get a Gemini as a back for those times when my swing is way off  My 395 is slightly closed. I think I measured it at less than one degree.
  13. I have had extensive on-course comparsons between a Gemini 395 10.5*, a R510 TP (retail) 10.5* and a R510 TP (tour) 9.5*. The Gemini was the longest of the three by at least 10 yards (probably more). This surprised me, because I expected the Gemini's strength to be forgiviness rather than distance. There was one instance where I absolutely nailed the tour TP-just right in the middle of the sweetspot. Then had a so-so hit with the Gemini. Both balls landed in the same place, and the Gemini ran out farther. It was very impressive to say the least. As for feel, the tour TP felt the best-very solid and hammer like. Sound was also nicely muted. The retail TP also felt pretty good, just not quite as solid feeling as the tour, and a little "brighter" sounding at impact. The Gemini was louder and didn't feel as solid. But I got used to it. :) The TPs are pretty workable. The Gemini is less workable, but you can still move the ball either way. The Gemini is very easy to hit straight. As an aside (and I'm not trying to piss anyone off), I can't see any reason to pay a premium for a tour TP. The retail is just as good. Disclosures: Driver SS 105-110; Index 1.0
  14. I have both a SIX and a 26.3 just sitting around in my basement waiting for a project. I am wondering how these two shafts compare to each other. Has anyone tried both of these?
  15. I'm selling a really nice R510 TP tour version 9.5* w/Aldila NV 65 S (actual measured loft is 10.1*). It is in very good condition--just normal wear. This stick is one of the most solid-feeling drivers I've ever hit. SOLD
  16. I am selling a Taylor Made R510 TP 10.5* (retail version) with a Fuji Speeder 661 S shaft. The club is in very good condition. SOLD
