  1. Glad to hear a review from you Stew as always. Maybe I've haven't been keeping proper attention but it seems you haven't posted in a while. I was getting withdrawals.
  2. Absolutely stunning blades. Love the high toe. Anyone hit these yet?
  3. Me too. ZEN is the ultimte in feel IMO.

I love these shafts more and more each and every time I hit them. Definitely worth a look. I'm not sold on the new Speeder line but Fujikura really got these right.
  5. Love the grind on these. Reminds me very much of my much beloved Royal Collection DB forged 56. Might just have to pick one of these up in a 54. These are forged, yes?
  6. No straight install, butt trim to length. My builder does it for me and everything he makes me is usually money. His advice to me on most shafts is that tip-trimming takes away from the manufacturer's design of the shaft. In my experience I've found that to be accurate. But everyone has differing opinions so you've got to find what works for you.
  7. Any chance that the new CB's will be available in left hand? Need to update my son's irons.
  8. No, not a silly question. You can go 9 or 8. I went 8 on the advice of Gary. Keeps the trajectory down and allows me to go at them hard when I need to pick up a few extra yards. However I can also dial it down when I'm looking to finesse it a bit more. As far as the touch shots around the green it works just as well also. For me, I've found I get better results with this route than the traditional wedge shafts. Better in terms of responsiveness.

Man, its worth every putter. BELIEVE ME. It really is. I took some advice from a few of you out there and placed a Gripmaster Cabretta grip and OH MY GOD, MAGNUM!! Pure heaven. The absolute ultimate in feel.
  10. These MCI's are really something special. I'm so happy with mine that I'm having my two main wedges reshafted with them in an 8-iron setup. Can't wait. I can really see them working well in a hybrid especially one that would be an "iron" type hybrid. That would be stellar.
  11. Stunning blade. You guys did well. Love the boxier toe as well as the what appears to be a very thin sole. This iron will be a killer.

Great price and great putter. I'll sell mine when someone pries it out my cold, dead hand and lists in on the web. My soul putter. Someone's got to jump on this.
  13. I haven't hit the Recoils. But, I can add that the MCI's are just the purest, tightest dispersion I've ever experienced. By a wide margin. I'm even changing my wedges over to them (8iron shafts.) As far as feel, much more than the steel I've used. I don't think you could go wrong with either, though.
  14. So now I'm in a dilemma C; RomaRo or S-Yard? Maybe 3 wood in S-Yard and the 5+ in RomaRo?
  15. The new RomaRo (tour) comes in a 13.5.
  16. Yes, they are part of my bag. I have them in 3 and 4 irons. My 5-pw is of course the TS 909's but I went with these RF700's last summer as an experiment. Last summer my swing was suffering a bit and I wanted to see if these would be a good transition from a blade. Excellent, excellent clubs. In fact because I liked them so well, I didn't need to obtain a 4 or 3 when I ordered the new 909's. I don't know what to classify these as. On the surface, sure they look like cavity-backs. However, inside that cavity is a muscle so its not a true cavity-back and its not a true blade/muscle. Performance-wise these are just stellar. Provide a really nice mid ball-flight and you can work them a little should you want to. However, line up straight that's exactly where they're going. I currently have them installed with the MCI's but I did have KBS in them previously. In both shafts they worked out really well. I find them a good compliment to my 909's, a sort of a combo set. Feel wise is nice soft-click. You do feel the cavity a bit when you hit them. Not a lot but if you're used to a blade feel these will feel a little different from that. Setup wise is compact, topline thin. These irons would suit really most anyone. Mid capper would do very well with these and single digits guys who want a little more forgiving club than what blades provide should also give these a look. As for me, having them along with my 909's they complement each other very well. I don't have to alter the swing, nor the setup going back and forth between the two. Definitely worth a look and at the price they're offered at; just a steal when it comes to JDM.
  17. Gary bored out the hosels when he put together my 909's and they're superb. No problem.
  18. I'd go Steelfibers. I too have the MCI's and that would be my vote but, I believe that there is something to this new steel/graphite emulsion technology or whatever you want to call it. The steelfibers and MCI's are similar in that regard.
  19. Same here. C'mon T let's get on that.
  20. Thanks. Much appreciated.

I have two full sets or is three, but countless drivers, wedges, utes and fairways built by Gary. Every single one has been top-notch. Sure I've got to send them off to Texas but its worth it every time. Even when I've sent him clubs that I thought were marginal, they come back enhanced. Not sure if he uses voodoo, black magic or just regular old-fashioned snake charming but he's got serious skills. It is tough not being right there to talk in person, but if you have some idea of what works for you he can help you out. Very honest and a straight shooter. Just PM from here.
  22. Thanks guys. I'll just have to get one of those Gripmasters and check out. Haven't seen them in the stores here so I'll just order online. RI, do you have a pic of that grip and balance insert?
  23. No problem, when I get a little more time, I'll take a few measuments and post some comparo pics. First round with them was Monday and they performed admirably.

Let us know how the wedges go. Just recently went that route (8I in wedge) with steel and its improved the wedges but I'm loving the MCI's so much I might just go with MCI's in wedges as 8 iron shafts as well. I haven't hit the Recoils but I'm assuming that since they are much like the MCI's (steel/graphite combined) that they would produce very similar findings. Do you find the Recoils to be very "laser-like"? By that I mean you can just tell that the ball ends up exactly where you struck it even if you stuck it off line the ball will finish right there since the shaft is just exacting. I'm finding these MCI's have even better dispersion than steel. Much, much better. Anyone else seeing this with Aero's, Recoils?
  25. I'd love to see you go the GDZ9003 route in it just to know your thoughts on that shaft/head combo.
