  1. Can't wait to hear this write-up. Please do tell and don't leave out the tiniest of details.
  2. Yea that's for sure. The TourVS I have with the P9 is like butter. The newer TX and TR line remind me a lot of the old BBD's
  3. I must say that I've got the 787 in a Royal Collection Spoon, the 13 degree and I don't like it one bit. While the dipersion is good, it just has absolutely no feel to it. I usually don't like to post bad reviews but I've really spent some time with now and can say that I'm not at all impressed with it. I don't think its the head because RC's usually have superb feel to them but who knows. I may pull the 787 and have the stock shaft placed back in to see.
  4. Carlo, that new line from Royal Collection the TX and TR models really look solid. Kind of that old school BBD look to them and that line was fabulous. However that IFF head you have looks solid as well.
  5. Stew, another thought I'm seeking from you on the KP-X. What do you think a Crazy CB50 would do in this head compared to the P9? Thinking of the prototype 519 that as T describes in the blog is the new generation CB50. Thoughts and ponderings please.
  6. Royal Collection. The older TourVS model or the new TX or TR line, either one.
  7. Oh Stew, you need professional help!! Although, I'm not sure if there's a professional out there to help you!! Seriously though, its always a good read. Hey, just how much does the KPX 10.5 head weigh? And are they really lighter than the 9.5?
  8. No Carlo, not replacing the RC's. I've got the DB Forged in the 56 and 50 and they're perfect as well. In fact the grind patterns are similar to the Vokey 62. The 50 degree DB forged is actually the newest of the bunch, replacing the SDJ. I choose the Vokey 62 to replace my Fourteen which also was a 62 degree. The reason for the change was that I had originally had the Vokey 46 PW and loved the feel of it so much. That combined with what I saw in the grind pattern for the 62 Vokey made me decide that I had to give it a try. Once receiving it and hitting it, it instantly kicked out the Fourteen. 62 over 60 is just to have more versatility in the wedge game. Looking at my bag, I'm gaming 4 perfect wedges for me and each one is ideal at their respective lofts.
  9. Yea Stew, the 10.5. Going to have the P9003x in it. Just need to send it off to Goodsie for the build. I've put my Yonex 380 w/ P9903x into play of late and that shaft for me is still money so decided to bring it to this head as well. Thinking about the shaft length now. I'm usually good at around 45.75 inch, you think I need to go shorter for this head? The one thing I do know, after having put the 380 in play, I do like the smaller driver heads. This KPX is 430 and looks like it might fit the bill as well. We'll see.
  10. Carlo, the 46 is awesome. In fact I started with it and then decided on the 62 after looking at the grind pattern. The 46 is a no nonsense design, with a somewhat thin sole. Perfect for full shots and chips. What Chris said about the size of it is dead on, small head but not so much so that its difficult to hit. Trajectory is really dead on with this thing. Very tight. I too, was bored as you put it with my PW. Was looking at this one and haven't looked back. The feel of these aren't like past Vokey's (USDM) at all. I was a devoted Vokey man many years back and then left them when JDM came into the scene for me. There is not one bit of "clickiness" to them at all. Yes they are soft but not in a mushy way. Still some firmness there. Very responsive, really hard to describe other than to say these wedges definitely require a look. I do like how the grind patterns differ as you get to the higher lofts. Definitely makes it much more useful in the short game area.
  11. Can't echo the review by daamartin enough here. I too have the 62 along with a 46 pitch. Both are ideal for me. The Endo forged feel is quite evident. Can I just add though that the grind on the 62 has got to be the best grind for a lob wedge I've used or seen to date. I mean talk about versatile. There isn't a lie out there that it can't handle. Full shots, partial, flop, back in the stance, up in the stance, bunker, deep grass, tight lie. I mean come on with that now. Just a perfectly balanced head, an absolute stunner in the looks department. My vote for wedge of the year, and quite possibly the decade. I really, really love this wedge.
  12. Just to add to the sentiment here especially from Chris and Stew. Each product is unique to itself and finding the good ones is just a matter of trial and error just as it is reading from other members' experiences. What works for some just won't cut it for others. I mean just look at my bag. The 901 X-blades are still my favorite iron, but they never have nor will they ever get much love from others. But for myself, its the feel, the look and performance along with them combined with the right shaft. I'm sure though that someday they will be replaced, its just not happening now. My wedges at the moment are the best I've hit, but I've got two Royal Collections which are absolute money, and two Titleist-Japan Vokeys. Didn't think much of Titleist for the last few years but used to play them a lot many, many moons ago. But my Forged Vokey 62 lob and 46 pitch are such a joy to hit and man are they solid. Then you take my Royal Collection TRC ute and VSTour 3 wood. Best 3 wood ever made and best ute ever made IMO period. No others compare. But I must say I am not fond of the new products they have out now. Current driver is the Yonex 380 which I must say am liking a lot. That being said, the KamuiPro KP-X goes off to Goodsie later for a build and will see how that all shakes out. Putter, well, still gaming the G-Field and how long ago did that company fold up. For awhile they were stellar. You just have to always keep an open mind and a good eye open for all products. There's always an ebb and flow to this stuff.
  13. Oh Stew, where were you a week or so ago! Got a 10.5 on order with a P9003x waiting here to stick in when the head comes in.
  14. Pic is really hard to discern, but at first glance they have a slight resemblance to the TS 901 x-blades, especially in the lower blade region. Jury is still out for me until we can get some better pics.
  15. I'm still playing my G-Field M2 Plus with the legendary Premium Zone Insert. Back a few years ago the Premium Zones were quite popular. I had been playing the Anser style No. 1, but the offset of those just never agreed with me. The feel however was tremendous. I went to the mallet style M2 Plus one day and had instant success to which I haven't really changed since.
  16. Can't wait, give us pics you f'g tease!
  17. Yea, I've got a son that's left handed too and its tough finding that in JDM. There is a new XXIO driver out that's available in LH, check it out in the proshop. The other brands I don't believe make a left handed version.
  18. Agreed about the size. But for a sand wedge I do think its ideal, especially the grind. That same grind as well as allows me to hit full shots from 105 and in, so it does feel quite a role. The perfect size I think is the new Voks. Along with the grind pattern on the 62, absolutely ideal for me.
  19. Yea, the P9003x is still great. I pulled out the Yonex 380 on the range sessy yesterday and I was hitting these sweet little hooks that were really going further than I usually hit that club. Maybe it was just happy to be out there but that shaft is still great. Got the RC Spoon in 13 degree with Muuzik 787 which is stellar, but the RC VS Tour with the P9 can keep up with that club and the feel is tremendously better. That all got me thinking about bringing out the P9 again and putting it in the KPX. All this driver talk from YOU has got me thinking about picking up two new drivers. The KPX being one of them. I'm very intrigued by it. The other driver that's on my mind is the new RomaRo and I've heard there's a 435 version on the way. The way I was hitting the 380 Yonex yesterday has really got me thinking along the lines of Spoon that the 460cc head is not so much the way to go.
  20. You know these new Vokey Forgeds just might be as close as perfect gets. They really are fantastic. The 62 lob has an excellent grind that doesn't get in the way of full or partial shots, and the 46 is deadly accurate with the ideal trajectory I've been looking for a long time. The feel as well is very solid with lots of feedback. I know before I even look at the face where I've hit it on the club. Excellent, brilliant wedge. And yea, I still say the RC DB Forged is the best sand wedge (56).
  21. Yea, I got a feeling I'm getting one of these. P9003x just might be the ticket again. Didn't you have an 8.5? You think the 10 to 10.5 range is better for this head?
  22. Stew, What would you think this head would do with a P9003x in it?
  23. Do the PerfectPro come in a corded ribbed version as well?
  24. My best wedge is the 56 degree Royal Collection DB Forged. From feel, to grind, bounce everything. Can hit any shot with this club. Second and not by much are the new Vokey Forged. Now have a 46 and 62, with the 62 replacing the Fourteen. The 46 is deadly accurate and a great chipping club. The 62 has a much more favorable grind pattern than the Fourteen it replaced. Not as much camber and a little in line with the RC. Vokeys have always had a great look and now with them being forged, the feel is there as well. My wedges are without a doubt my favorite clubs in the bag. Thinking about picking up a 50 degree RC as well as another 56 just for backup.
  25. My "shallow" quote was just to woods in general to what I prefer. Glad to know the Ryoma is deep as its been on my "list" for months now. Haven't seen either driver up close, just the pics. Now I just need a few people to take the dive on this one so I can read all the feedback and go back and forth between the two, all the while loving the current setup. Oh this JDM stuff just never ends!
