  1. More and more of us are indeed using graphite in our irons... there are several on this forum who are (including myself). The Mach Line iron shafts are on par with the Axiv and Graphite Design shafts, quality and performance wise. In other words, like Axiv and GD, they provide feel and performance coupled with the dispersion of steel. Mach Line did not heavily promote their Graphite shafts, which is why many people may have not even noticed that they were around. As a matter of a fact Epon is banking on the AF-701 as being the perfect match with Mach Line graphite shafts. So much that the standard tip size for the AF-701 is for graphite 0.370 parallel as opposed to the 301 and 501 which are taper. The Mach Line offering focus on light weight and mostly low kick points (except for some of the shorter irons which are mid) until you get to the 701 models which are mid in the long irons progresing to high kick points in the shorter irons. Flex ratings are very similar to Axiv, slightly higher torque. I like really lightweight shafts so I tried the 501's. Very smooth, nice feel and at that weight and flex ® you can feel the kick, and just as good as Axiv and GD. I think I will get a set as they are also very reasonably priced compared to Axiv and Roddio.
  2. The difference between the 1 and 2 is head shape including the cavity. This is a private stock #2 with flat bumpers and sharper/pointier heel: This is a private stock #1 with rounded bumpers and more rounded overall appearance: There are many types of blinkers but they are all used for alignment purposes... they create almost a new mallet style putter. Here is one of many blinker putters from Gold's: The slit line is a sound slot that separates the face from the back of the putter like this: Hope this helps. Please ask if you need to know more.... (^_^)
  3. Yeah I do wipe down after every shot... but the moisture in the air today was unbelievable... thanks again for everyone's concern and advice... (^_^)
  4. One of the most forgiving sets of irons in Japan. Been among the best sellers all year. Packed with technology to help the improving golfer.
  5. While I'm playing I don't use the headcovers on the wedges, only on the way to the course... I don't use them on the way home either for exactly the reason you mentioned. They started surface rusting like that while they were in the bag and I was still playing... it was just so moist everywhere today...
  6. That's a very good point, it's true the lighter weight Nippons are indeed softer. I'm also in that swing range and I tested the 750GH wraptech and was using Stiff as the R was super soft.
  7. Not at that price R. That is way too much... this is pretty custom as, these irons, the 105 and 115 have in fact been in existence on the Japanese pro tour.... they just want to make it "available" to the public now (^_^).
  8. The links were external so K just wasn't sure if he should post them directly here... but I capped them anyway! Thanks K for the info! Damn they are pricey but I would love to have blue ones....
  9. Thanks guys for the quick responses.... Got WD-40 and dish scrubs.... I saved the wedges and my Grind Studio looks like new again! (^_-) Lung-chia, it was like that first thing in the morning... 15yards visibility. I could barely drive to the course it was scary, but by the time we got there it was about 30 yards and slowly cleared up. Luckily I was using flourescent yellow Kasco's that were really easy to spot. ALL FIXED! :
  10. So my wife and I decide to head out for 18 holes this morning. Weather has been nuts and season is winding down. It was unusually warm this morning at 14C but extremely foggy, we couldn't even see 30 yards in front of us... but it cleared as the day went along and sun came out. Thing is it was humid... and wet. You guys know I take care of my clubs... I wipe them after every shot but it was just so wet, and my raw wedges (carried Grind Studio and Sky Dream Jump today) suffered with lots of surface rust. What can I do to save my beauties? Steel wook? If so what kind?
  11. That's too bad as the FF shafts are supposed to amplify touch and feel. That's their original purpose. My only complaint is that they are light.... http://www.ustgolfshaft.com/shaft_models/model.aspx?id=16
  12. K, There's no mention of these new shafts at all in any publication or even on the GD Japan site... get me some pics! (^_^)
  13. In Japan it's actually the Mamiya Op FF shaft (^_^). For those wanting extra feel. Awesome C, simply awesome!
  14. They are the Black G as I posted here Kyle (^_^): http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.php?showtopic=26065
  15. Technica Pro I and Type J are the same thing, they are badged as Technica Pro I in Japan and Type J outside of Japan. There is tons of feedback all around the forum on the Type J's (^_^)
  16. I think it's around 10, the 59 is 9.
  17. Okay I haven't received mine yet but I got a copy of the manual from Bridgestone... I will translate it. Just give me some time (^_^).
  18. My swing speed now is between 85-90mph (it was like 80 earlier this year)... I use R flexes in all my woods and I prefer the lighter graphite shafts in the irons as it allows me to generate more head speed. The great thing about the current crop of JDM graphite shafts is you lose nothing in performance to steel. I was a NS Pro 950 and 850 user before and I have lost NO accuracy but gained great smooth feel and less overall weight with graphite. Do you personally like a heavier iron? What shafts are in the TR910's now and do you like them? It's a personal preference thing really, some people like a heavier shaft weight. I think graphite pairs well with the AF-701's because of their strong lofts. If you have the money to spend, go for the graphite, and if you like them you can keep them for future sets and sell heads only. The I-6 with low 60g weight is pretty light, similar to my Tour AD. I actually think the I-8 SR would be good for you. They would still be lighter than even NS Pro 850gh. You would have one kick ass set of irons! (^_^)
  19. I am not familiar with the Aerotech's but Nippons are know for their feel. For your swing speed, you'd definitely benefit from lighter steel, I'd recommend even the 850gh in R flex, and perhaps 950's in the wedges. You'll get improved smooth feel, higher trajectory and most likely improved distance.
  20. Carlo try the Royal Collection 6150TG, I am a very steep swinger and that has too be one of the easiest wedges I've used even though the head is compact. Beautiful M type grind and fantastic milled face for amazing spin. I'll definitely be giving these a try, and I think they will look better once I remove that ring of colored paintifill on the back... though they look nice at address:
  21. Definitely very high tech looking! I guess the most important thing is if it performs but that look will definitely be a personal thing.
  22. Good observations P, the face progression is listed as the same on both. So Lung-chia was pretty much right that TM's site is not so consistent in spec descriptions sometimes. It's not uncommon to have them make minor mistakes in new product listings, also perhaps the TP's "Tour" size head as opposed to the R7 Forged's "Mid-Size" (as TM calls it) may give the illusion that there is less offset. By the way it's about time you posted! (^_^)
  23. If I'm not mistaken all T3 drivers are made by Endo.
  24. It's a more compact head, made for low handicap players, it's a tour type hybrid, the Td+ has a lower center of gravity for a stronger trajectory and supposedly more carry.
