<a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3921.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3921.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21309" title="DSCF3921" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3921.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="248" /></a> Master Sasaya over at Gold's Factory sent over one of his new prototypes, a SUS303 model with what he dubs the "Gold's Box" an inner sound slot. A sound slot or as some refer to it, a floating face, is a slit line cut in the flange to sole right behind the face of the putter that alters the sound depending on where the ball strikes the face. Many golfers use the sound slot to "tune" their stroke and impact. Sound for many also translates into feel. A player can get accustomed to a certain sound at impact and replicate that sound each time knowing he or she has struck the sweet spot. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3909.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3909.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21310" title="DSCF3909" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3909.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Some disadvantages of a sound slot are that they can collect dust and debris and are difficult to clean out - most people probably don't clean or do anything with their slot, I know I don't. So Sasaya-san thought wouldn't it be cool to embed the sound slot internally in the putter with a slit in center of the flange/sole but unseen and unexposed? In the case of the inner sound slot, it is not cut all the way up through the flange and then concealed with a sole plate. However it still allows for pitch changes from different impacts on the face. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-1.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21315" title="Untitled-1" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-1.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Gold's has incorporate this new technique into one of their current SUS303 heads and added the wonderful next generation Premium Zone milling which as many know increases forward roll, decreases side spin and softens the feel at impact. The face also has a Gold's Factory bulls eye insert in the heel. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-2.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-2.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21316" title="Untitled-2" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Untitled-2.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Because a portion of the sole is cut away, Orbit around G tungsten weights are added which increase head weight by about 25g taking the head weight up to 367g. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3931.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3931.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21317" title="DSCF3931" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/DSCF3931.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> The back of the putter is left nice and clean with just a sight line and what Gold's calls an arc reactor insert in the cavity. Why did Gold's call it Gold's Box? Sasaya-san said its in reference to Pandora's Box, a secret box not meant to be opened. But in this case of course the sound slot is a good thing and not something evil. (^_^) <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/wlpljln9.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/wlpljln9.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21319" title="wlpljln9" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/wlpljln9.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="450" /></a> The Gold's Box inner sound slot prototype also has a black version that has been made and both putters are available now (you can add your name to the bumpers if you wish as well). Just contact us if you are interested. In the meantime, what do you think of this idea or a sound slot in general. Comment below!

Who makes the best quality stand bags? Need help picking a new one
gocchin replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The thing is TS used to make some of the best quality backs. I had a TS stand bag back from 2006/2007 and it was one of the best bags I have ever owned. I wonder if Phil who I passed it on to in Toronto is still using it. Sadly they changed manufacturers and the quality seems to have dropped. I would suggest Romaro, a very good stand bag that can be carried but still works well on a cart and has some very nice features. Pricey though, -
Mark why didn't you contact us before you went? I was there the day before and I usually bring and arrange fittings for all our customers.

UPDATED Oct 10th: Custom Mizunos from Yoro Craft Thread

Just added Dr. H's Double Nickel Bright MP-69! -
This is not a poor effort by Epon at all. When I met with their international agent back before the summer, they explained the concept of the RF line and it makes total sense. The fact is Epon's market is very narrow, they cater to a tiny percentage of golfers who see value and are willing to pay for premium clubs. And as a relatively unknown brand outside of Japan, most golfers (besides the educated enthusiasts here at TSG of course) have never seen the AF-501 before. They want to grow and they know they cannot do it over night. It is actually a testament to the quality of the AF-501 and that it can still be a design that works and performs today. By introducing the RF551 (reintroducing the tweaked AF501) for the overseas market at a price point approximately 30% lower than the AF line thanks to savings from R&D, CAD and tooling/mould making, Epon can appeal to a mid range group of golfers who other wise may never have been able to consider Epon. At the same time they do not reduce the quality of the product. Sure its a re tweaked older model but its still S20C forged and designed at Endo and it is still Epon. For the 98% of golfers who do not know Epon this can work. We all know that the AF501 is a pretty good iron and for some even better than the 502. So bottom line is the RF551 not meant for everyone. They actually have a plan involved and it doesn't necessarily appeal to the type of customers who are accustomed to the AF line BUT newer products which will also come. So before members call poor effort or look down on the RF551 like the EHR, they should keep in mind that there are probably those who are happy with these releases and may have a better chance at affording and experiencing Epon quality. I would be worried if all they ever came out with were older models but that is not and will not be the case.

To be clear here I am working on these "rust" spots with Jan. And to clarify the putter is SUS303 stainless Steel just like GSS in tour camerons and it is not finished. Stainless steel is not plated like carbon steel. It should not rust unless neglected and we honestly have never had one GF putter do so until now. XXIO as always has lots of great points and I always appreciate his comments. TSG is not only a shop that sells products we try our best to bridge that gap between the JDM market and overseas golfer not only through sales but service, education, information etc. We will certainly figure this out.

<a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3768.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3768.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21231" title="DSCF3768" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3768.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="248" /></a> Its been one hot summer with temperatures constantly in the mid to high 30's (Celcius) with lots of humidity on top of all that. I was lucky enough to get some time off last week to recharge the batteries but it was back to work this week with a visit on Monday to the new Crazy Showroom in Tokyo. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0005.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0005.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21232" title="DSC_0005" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0005.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="486" /></a> Adachi is the home to 4 Crazy buildings including the flagship shop, the actual factory, the main/head office, and now the newly opened showroom all within walking distance of one another. The new showroom is the smallest building with the main purpose of acting as a showroom to showcase all Crazy's wonderful products. In front of the showroom as you can see in the picture above are even Crazy vending machines! For this blog post I'll talk about the new showroom where we will host our visitors from overseas who come for fittings as well as talk about some of the new products coming up in the next few months. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3835.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3835.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21233" title="DSCF3835" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3835.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="315" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3831.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3831.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21235" title="DSCF3831" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3831.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="401" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3769.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3769.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21236" title="DSCF3769" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3769.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Parked outside the showroom were 3 of Crazy's company cars, a trio of nice Benz's. Right upon entering the showroom, there is a beautiful in wall aquarium that I am sure Tourspecgolfer would like very much. The corridor walls are lined with nice ornaments and art like displays which very much represent Crazy's image. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3833.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3833.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21238" title="DSCF3833" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3833.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="303" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0006.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0006.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21239" title="DSC_0006" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0006.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="413" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3830.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3830.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21240" title="DSCF3830" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3830.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> There is a new fitting studio at the show room. Their biggest hitting bay yet with launch monitors and simulators. Its not quite ready yet so I only snapped a quick picture of the glass doors heading inside. The fitting studio, reception area and a small waiting area make up the first floor. Crazy always has a very interesting taste in furniture I must say. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0008.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0008.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21242" title="DSC_0008" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_0008.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="486" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3772.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3772.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21243" title="DSCF3772" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3772.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3778.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3778.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21244" title="DSCF3778" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3778.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="403" /></a> Walking past the reception area and up the stairs leads us to the actual showroom. Here you can pretty much find every product Crazy currently offers. I sat down and talked to or Crazy rep about some of the new up and coming releases. <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3779.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3779.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21247" title="DSCF3779" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3779.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3780.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3780.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21248" title="DSCF3780" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3780.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3773.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3773.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21249" title="DSCF3773" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3773.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Crazy has decided to re-release a couple of very popular products that customers still desire. Their original Crazy Skull Tour Caddy bag with matching headcovers will be available again next month. This is Crazy's biggest full sized staff bag and features a skull on the side with flames and a big Crazy cross on the front pocket. The Toyoshima wedge is one of the best wedges ever made. Hand grinded by master grinder Toyoshima-san at Crazy, it is always sold out within a week or two. Crazy has decided to make one final run, the 3rd edition, of the Toyoshima wedge with 20 sets only of 52+58 in satin with milled faces, which will be available in October but can be ordered now through TSG. Within those 20 sets, 5 sets will be made with a raw flat black finish. As always the Toyoshima wedge can be made with any Crazy shaft including Crazy black wedge graphite, Crazy Sports Target Tour Steel shafts and also custom color hand picked KBS Tour and C-taper shafts (black, silver and white). <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3792.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3792.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21252" title="DSCF3792" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3792.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="382" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3805.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3805.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21253" title="DSCF3805" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3805.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3781.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3781.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21254" title="DSCF3781" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3781.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3810.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3810.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21255" title="DSCF3810" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3810.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> Crazy has teamed up with cloting maker Edwin to make some very nice golf wear. Awesome pants and tops are available for special order through TSG. Crazy has also teamed with Sanrio to bring the ladies a Hello Kitty Titanium driver with Hello Kitty high modulus shaft. According to our sales rep, this driver is quite long and has been more popular than expected here in Japan. I wonder if its too cute for the overseas market? Comment and let me know. The very classy Smart series caddy/cart bags have been very very popular, so much that Crazy has started making matching headcovers for each design. These will be available through TSG in September! <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3797.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3797.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21258" title="DSCF3797" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3797.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3799.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3799.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21259" title="DSCF3799" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSCF3799.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="432" /></a> <a href="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC08364.jpg"><img'>http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC08364.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21260" title="DSC08364" src="http://www.golftoimpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC08364.jpg" alt="" width="648" height="431" /></a> On the shaft side, the limited prototypes we have been offering, the 519, 513, 531 and 504 FW will soon be sold out no longer available. Moving ahead to October we will see 4-6 new retail model shafts as well as a new custom colors program called MY SHAFT. Customers will be able to special order (takes a month and there is an upcharge) any wood shaft in any color. So you can choose a red base with gold markings and logos or a pearl black base with red markings and logos or white with fire red accents. I am contemplating getting a Longest Yard Hot Black with Red base and silver accents. Along with the MY SHAFT program, Crazy regularly experiments with prototype graphics and designs which are now also available to TSG customers only. The two images above the custom colors feature Royal Decoration shafts made in the "Tachibana" design as well as the "Ryu-Dragon" design. Jbeam 435R review - this shxt is crazy...
gocchin replied to luting_chen's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Will be out very soon. Just waiting for the demo. -
Jeff that is Epon's counterfeit warning message. Those are fake 502's and other irons that don't even exist. There are new irons coming but those aren't it!
-
David I emailed you.

It supposed to be this month. Though no word of it from Jbeam. I will talk to them later this week as its Obon holidays here in Japan right now. Its the usual 435 type performance with a new design. Strong penetrating trajectory with low spin thanks to a shorter and shallower CG. More traditional type head with mid deep face with square face angle. Would not be surprised if this ended up a crazy model too.

New PRGR egg spoon HD heavier and deeper model
gocchin replied to Spoon's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It will be in later this week, but customers are already ordering so you can just contact me to order. -
C, if you can play the Yamaha V off the deck, you will have no problems with the egg HD. It is as easy to play off the deck as the first two versions of the egg and for many players it will be even easier. Its not like it got a lot deeper, just enough. And the extra weight helps with better impact. Especially for stronger players. They are a bit different but with similar focus which is distance. The Ryoma is very big and much more geared towards the average golfer and slower swinger. Though faster swingers and better players can of course have success with it. The egg HD is aimed at the better player and faster swinger and adds stability to the mix. Distance is great to as they've managed to crank the COR up there right with the Ryoma. The advantage the Ryoma has is its weighting and fact it can be made with any shaft. The Spoon HD is probably better at hitting bullets and more penetrating type shots.

crazy prototype s-519 75 & 85 (help needed)
gocchin replied to 604_skyline's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Well the TJ80 is 80t of course and Crazy actually considers it their best feeling shaft for the harder hitter. It is not that forgiving though as I've been told by customers who were aggressive hitters and hooked the ball as their bad shot, that they suddenly were hitting fades from the TJ-80. The TJ80 is still primarily a distance shaft and a feel shaft while the 519 is like the CB50 in it is a control shaft but now with very good feel. -

crazy prototype s-519 75 & 85 (help needed)
gocchin replied to 604_skyline's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Crazy purposely increased the torque to increase the feel. They play like the CB50 which is Crazy's most stable shaft but now with more feel and kick. -
As spoon says the dead giveaway is the rough and sharp unfinished look of the cavity. I brought the first counterfeit set Epon's attention last year and they have since discovered fake AF301's as well. Here is their note.

UPDATED Oct 10th: Custom Mizunos from Yoro Craft Thread
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Just added Ed's classy Double Nickel Brights to the first post! -
ONOFF Forged... for the amazing feel.
-
I like the looks of the new iron. Its simpler and more refined than the first one. The cavity is lower and the undercut wider and deeper meaning most likely a higher launch and even more forgiveness. The head is a good size and may be a tad less chunky. Maybe less offset too. I no longer have my original VG3 irons (which I might add I gamed for a year and loved), I think I will definitely get a set of these after I return the testers.

The good old gauge japan aluinser. Is that the Shingo commerative model?
-
Yes this is definitely the case. Odyssey makes it in around 60-70% of all tour bags in Japan.
