I've played Srixon's, TS and J Dunlop's highest end balls and there's no way on earth they are worth $25-30 additional dollars vs ProV, Nike, HX Tour. You'd only be enjoying the novelty of playing a ball no one else has. Playability, distance, etc..not $30 better.

Check out the many, many used stores. The big ones have databases across their chains to locate exactly what you need. For fun, the big retailers...Victoria Golf, IBS, etc. Check those out and get blown away. Probably better off actually buying (new) in the Ameyoko area.

Absolutely wonderful set. Couldn't more highly recommend a set of irons. They are actually very reasonably priced in the US. Aug Golf Classic shows the irons used by JPGA pros..Only one of the J Dunlop staffers doesn't use I-302's.
  5. I am currently use an Eldik purchased right here and it's wonderful. I couldn't more strongly recommend any piece of golf equipment. If you aren't familiar with the story behind J and US Gauge, take a look. You'll determine that there is absolutely no comparison.
  6. I am playing I-302's with DG S-300's and they're wonderful. If the other 2 model's are "better", I'd be surprised. Checked the Golf Classic mag and 6 are playing em, 2 XXIO, 1 woman-I-201's, 1 Pro Cavity. So...give em a shot. I have NEVER seen any review that didn't speak highly of them. In any case, Dunlop Japan is #1...not TS/Bridgestone, Miz, etc. which might be a surprise to the bandwaggoners here.

45" with one piece lead tape back of the head for more distance. Absolutely wonderful.
  8. or the TS ViQ (the mallet)....Do you have an opinion regarding either/any? Are they effective? popular sellers in Japan? would you recommend any of them? Thanks!

I-302 and from among any, PRGR Model 900.
  10. golf.dunlop.co.jp!!!! It's right there.

and it's rather strong. I think you'll like the AD's. At the very least you are getting your money's worth (as they are relatively cheap). Just can't believe how badly the high end models shred. It's unreal how they can even put em on the market.
  12. ...how to get Tourstage stuff? Geez....every inch of this site and this board leads to Chris/TSG getting pretty much anything available in Japan pretty much immediately. Damn, just incredible! Duh.

and trust me folks...I am not a big hitter. The AD is an absolutely wonderful cheap ball. I personally like higher end balls for their performance around the green. So value/performance wise, the AD is a great choice. Oh, it lasts pretty well..no less than other cheap balls.

BUT absolutely terrible durability. No one on this board is more pro Dunlop Japan/XXIO/Srixon than I and it's a horrible ball. Every 7 iron and up ruins the ball. Won't even last a round. The cover sits nicely in the grooves though! LOL
  15. Srixon!!!! Don't believe the hype!!! Proof's in the pudding! Dunlop owns all in Japan...many years running! They gotta be doing something right! LOL
  16. Dass right!!!! Dunlop Japan rules the roost yet again. Damn, how many years running...a lot! LOL! Incredibly underrated/not talked about here but just great stuff!

At the suggestion of a friend, I went to forged irons for more accuracy. Being a Dunlop Japan ho and using new XXIO for a couple of years, I had to go with Srixon. I am NOT a good evaluator of forged irons as I have nothing to base my comparison on. But, I am very happy with my I-302's with DG S-300's. Hope you try them. BTW, in doing my homework prior to getting them, I couldn't find a bad review from anyone who has used/tried them.

Bought it cuz it was cheap at a used store in Tokyo...20000 yen. Didn't hit the ball very well with the driver I took there. I was pleasantly surprised as it's distance and direction are wonderful. I didn't even need to change the stock Fuji shaft. I can't say enough good things about it. BTW, tried a demo US model side by side and they're very different. The stock shaft is different, as is feel, sound, tempo, etc. I couldn't more highly recommend it!

    Thanks and Aloha from Hawaii!
  20. ...maybe 3-6 strokes. I used a 2-ball blade which was pretty effective for me but there's no doubt that I am saving strokes with the Eldik.
  21. on the NC list! If it doesn't matter to you, go draw a crowd at the driving range from the 6 people to either side of you watching you hit it!!!! Loads of fun!
  22. I posted a review in the review section but I'll say here that it's been a great ride for me. I had to change the grip from the Type A (Chris..send me a blue ion! lol) as it's too fat/large for me. It took a little getting used to but once I changed the grip, it's been wonderful. It's forgiving, the sweet spot's the whole face, distance control very consistent and it's the easiest putter to aim.
  23. .......the most accurate driver I've hit was the Callaway ERC (the original). It was very, very easy to hit. That was about four or so years ago. Aloha!
  24. a set of irons (10) with DG steel? Just curious...so I don't get ripped off here in the middle of the ocean! Mahalo (thank you) to all!
