  1. If anyone else has an opinion, etc re the I-302 or the new I-404 (released in Aug), please fill me in. I'm very interested in the Srixon irons being a Japan Dunlop ho!
  2. First, get one that is NOT on the non-conforming list. Then it's up to you and your definition of "legal". So you know, there are many, many models that are non-conforming and NOT on the list. That said, XXIO 350cc is very long and straight. I used it until it was placed on the list. That would be my suggestion and the prices are very good right now. For cheap, I used a Wilson PF420st with a Fuji Six that was incredibly long. I am presently using a model by an American company that is NOT TM, Titleist, Callaway that is working the best for me. I am not saying the model as I wouldn't want it placed on the non-conforming list from raising eyebrows here. But that one is also long, straight and cheap.
  3. www.wilson.co.jp Hover over the links and you will see the golf link. Have fun! Lots of great stuff!
  4. top of the line equipment. Practically an entirely different line than the US models.
  5. I have heard good things about the I-302's. Any comment about either/both? Thanks very much!
  6. HX Tour, TS X-01, Nike One

I had a new XXIO (350cc) with both a Speeder 757 and M-200 (I think) shaft. Prior to that a XXIO 305cc. They are absolutely wonderful and I used the 350 cc until it got on the NC list. Guess I'm just a XXIO guy but there's a reason Dunlop whoops BS, Miz, etc in Japan. High quality s--t that is easy to hit! Try em, you'll like em!

I tried the J and US models alongside each other and they are worlds apart. If you are interested in the J model, I couldn't more highly recommend it. If you are interested in the US model, I would look elsewhere. There is simply way better out there than the US model.

in my case I hit it too high, which is deadly here in Hawaii. I have never used a loft higher than 9 deg but the 395 went far higher than I have hit recently. Otherwise it's forgiveness rep is legit. Instead went to a Japan model Launcher 400 and it's the longest and straightest I have ever hit. I just stumbled onto it and lucked out.
  12. a White Hot CS #2 and a 2-ball blade. It's funny and surprising in that I have tried pretty much everything else and have narrowed it down to these two that are made by the same company.
  13. and there's simply no way to spin the ball to the max of your ability without using a high end ball. Otherwise, clean grooves, good timing (max clubspeed at impact) and a downward pass thru the ball. No scooping and not too high. I don't think I helped at all but good luck!
  14. MONTHLY Golf Digest, Golf Today, Alba tross view (sp?) are great J mags among others. All of you on these boards would like them so much more than the 2 major US mags. They are so oriented to equipment vs the stories, etc here. TSG--curious as to which you like in which order. I just get em at Book Off here and look at the pics! I can't read s--t but I'd buy those in a sec over Golf Digest and Golf Mag.
  15. Tourstage MR-23 US Spec Spoon. For someone who really isn't a TS fan, it's still in my bag as the longest and straightest 3 wood I have ever used.

ripped it off my JAL flight back to Hawaii along with a couple of others. I love J golf mags. Much more detailed and informative re clubs, equip, etc.
  17. Very cheap and it's just wonderful.
  18. Aero Spark Tees, cap clips, balls, tour spec gear, etc. I'd bet it would be hard to stock so many items unless you can order from companies based on an order from a customer. If you have to buy and stock so to speak, forget it. Wouldn't work for you. I just got back from Japan and the selection of accessories is wonderful and would be very surprising to many on this board. I also think people would be shocked as to how much balls cost there so I don't think you could move them here. Strongly suggest J licensed gear from American companies. Then the Titleist, Taylor Made, Cleveland, Callaway fans can one up their playing partners by wearing gear that is not available in the US.

None of the above?! Dunlop Japan...XXIO! lol
  20. titanium faced irons that give me an extra club length (Go XXIO) and a driver that is not on the USGA non-conforming list. I'm getting a Gemini from one of THE MEN on this site. So if I had a smidge of guilt, I'd worry about it. If you notice, I did a little "LOL" to note my sarcasm regarding the conforming/non-conforming issue. There's no real right or wrong here. If it ain't on the list, it's good to go anywhere on earth. If I know it's a non-conforming driver who cares? I just play for fun and I'd rather have a wedge in than an 8 iron. Should we all play blades too? I'll break 80 with any set. But I'll enjoy the technology that the companies are working so hard to provide. Aloha!
  21. I play a hi-cor driver that is NOT on the USGA non-conforming list. I will continue to do as there is simply no substitute for the pop and power on the ball that IMO the .03 provides. If you are the least bit curious there are dozens of hi-cor drivers that are not on the non-conforming list. I check the list every Monday out of curiosity. If you want to go that route, don't get the big names a la TM, Callaway, etc. Their hi-cor drivers get on the list quickly. In summary, a retail R580, tour GBBII aren't anywhere near my 420cc hi-cor head with a Fuji Six in driving distance. And I'm legal! LOL

I can't recommend Chris more highly! Anything in Japan can be yours thru him. The challenge is combing thru the J websites to actually find what you want, find what's there that can't be had in the US, etc!!!
  23. Why don't you just ask Chris right here?? He's the best! Aloha!
