jack0428
I need advice, I have mid-quick tempo and my SS is about 95-100 mph with the Driver, I am currently playing Fujikura 553 at 56 gms in the driver. What shafts will be good for me to install into the 3 wood and the 4 wood of the GD GAF1? I hit the RC Type H with the TS 661 fairly well, so I am thnking around the 60gms range. maybe NV? Thanks in advance,
FAQ
If the 661 works well for you in the other heads, it will work well for you in the Gauge. Another shaft with similar characteristics as the 661 is the Tour Platform Fujikura. They come in two models. 26.3 and 27.3. Those are good for getting the ball up and easy to load. (Like the 661). The 26.3 is the lighter of the two. My SS is about the same as yours, but I swing smooth. I prefer the Fuji HKpro-80. Not too high and very smooth shaft. Stable, for me, at 83 grams. I like a little heavier shaft in my FW's.
+TourSpecGolfer
Ive hit them with all kinds of shafts, The HK80 worked best for me then a close 2nd the TW84. I have also tried YS9's W70's and M85's all with positive results. If you like the BBD-H you will love this FW, feel is different but performance is better IMO. Breal
I have the HK-80 and it works so good in the gaf1. I'm also going to try it in other heads to see if it works as well I'm them like the TS FST+ and a TM V-steel tour. But if you like lighter an NV works good in a fairway also. There are better out there IMO like the other TSG'ers have suggested.
Guest
I got a 14* & 18* shafted with the Fuji Tour Platform 27.3s. SS is low 90's w/ 5-iron - no idea on woods - swing nice and easy. Flight is a nice medium-high penetrating trajectory which is good for me since I usually have a low flight. Really easy combo IMO if your more of a tempo player. I'd definitely go heavier than 60 grams. The swingweights with these heads comeout much much lower than the specs would indicate. Wish they made the same shaft in the 80's. angelman
I am also looking to shaft my new GD 4W, but in a much lighter shaft like the TW-54. I just re-shafted my JC driver to the TW-44 and tested this weekend and it felt just great! Much better ball flight, easier to hit, and 20 yards longer!
