October 3, 200420 yr Could be the distortion of blowing up the picture, but that sure looks like it could be a carbon fiber crown.

October 3, 200420 yr A little a blow up Notice the lead tape on the shaft just above the ferrule, Els has done this to his drivers for a while.
October 3, 200420 yr Good observation Br61! I recall seeing his iron specs in Golf Digest. Swing weights were in the low E range! Said he likes them heavy to help with tempo.
October 3, 200420 yr Author Notice the lead tape on the shaft just above the ferrule, Els has done this to his drivers for a while. Ernie is well known as Mr Lead Tape. Some of them are just to make it look that he tweaked it, even only changes 1/2 sw. :smile1: Joe
October 3, 200420 yr It's called the 905t it is said to be deeper than the 983E Deeper than the E? :surprize: Thats got to be one deep face.
October 4, 200420 yr It sure is a new driver! I just got back from Thomastown today and I followed Ernie quite a bit this weekend...Had a cracking time!! Got absolutely drenched yesterday, but was well worth it!! I am pretty certain that the driver is not extremely big, as most Titleist fans fear...Furthermore, from my observation, the clubhead didn't look very tall at address...But, I could be very wrong as well cause Ernie's a big guy and could have possibly made the club look small/shallow to my eyes...We'll find out soon... Also, the face of the driver had white dots around the sweet spot 'circle' area... Also, I noticed that there was a sticker/label attached to the shaft just below the grip...It had lots of scribblings on it!! I hope someone will let us know more details on the driver...
October 4, 200420 yr Alright! I'd love to see tity's answer to the R7...I've always loved their stuff but they have a lot of ground to make up.
October 4, 200420 yr Could be the distortion of blowing up the picture, but that sure looks like it could be a carbon fiber crown. It might agree with you...I took a few video recordings of Ernie at the practice range (shouldn't have been able to bring a camera in actually)...And it does sound like it could be one of those drivers...Might just be me...Wanna have your own judgement? Drop me a PM with your email address and I'll try to send the video file to you...It's about 1.9MB...But it's not the best video quality though, so don't expect too much... :smile1:
October 7, 200420 yr Ben curtis had it at st andrews today. it isnt a graphite crown and it deosnt look that big
