Minimal302
I hate my 2 iron at the moment and am looking for a replacement. I have tried the Sonartec MD but it didn't do anything for me. Looking for something around 18-19* range. I was at a 2nd Swing at saw a Precept 2-EZ for a decent price, whats the story on these? What would you guys suggest? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ethan
I would recommend the Nakashima ultilty club. Ken Racca at Kenscustomclubs.com is one of the best clubfitters in the country and he is a Nakashima dealer. By the way, how do you like those Evolutions, I'm thinking of getting a set. JRusgolf
I have hit the callaway heavenwood hybrid and the ben hogan hybrid and they're both pretty good. The new titleist 503 is supposed to be good. It all depends if you are looking for a bulkier iron look like the hogan and titleist or a wood look like the callaway. I'm not a big fan of the rescue, but people seem to like it. Chris also has a sweet looking taylormade TP driving iron in the catalog. FAQ
It depends on if you are looking for a square head or a closed head. If you are looking for something that sets up square and is very solid, I'd recommend the TourStage FUT's. I have 3 of them and with a good shaft they are great. The Hogan's set us pretty square too. Less expensive as well.

Try the 19* 503H. It's twice as easy as your two iron! I got rid of my 2 iron for it...longer, good out of light rough, good off the tee and it looks like a golf club at address! Minimal302
Definitely looking for a square face. Looks don't really matter as long as it performs well. How much are the FUT's? Do the Nak's have a square or closed face? Thanks for your help. Ethan, Love the Evolutions, they are some of the best irons I have ever hit. With the Project X's it is a perfect match for me, I would highly recommend them.
jaybit
id check out the 503H. The nike utility has almost the same look at address. I have tried countless hybrids but i always go back to my 2 iron, it just looks too good. IMO i would say forget the whole hybrid craze and just get a 5 or 7 wood. but hey at the end, its all up to you.

I am after a Precept 2-EZ 18* . I have not tried one but they were highly recommended. It comes with a good Mitsubishi shaft as standard. Breal
It depends on what you like to look at and what makes you confident. All the above mentioned are good, but one of the best utility clubs I have seen in a long time is the new Mizuno CLK utility club. The thing is so long, and hits so high, you fall in love with it after first hit. And the club is great looking with the graphite crown. IMO good luck :mizuno:
ethan
Minimal- The Nakashima NP-R utility club is .5 degrees closed. Thanks for the feedback on the evolutions. - Ethan

johnnypro
I love my Hogan 2h (19*). Has the I-ROD shaft. VERY easy to get the ball up in the air. Very easy from light-to-moderate rough. Not bad looking either, IMHO. I don't think you'll do better for the price - you can get one cheaper than a TM or a Tourstage.
indacup
I cannot recommend highly enough the EXTREMELY under-publicized KZG U clubs. These set up square, no offset and these sucker deliver the goods better than any UTility club I've hit...and I've hit about all of them...including the Nak, Hogans, QS, Jacks, Miz, TM's..etc. These do look similar to the Naks in that they have a more curvature in the sole...but not quite as much which makes this a better head to hit off flat surfaces...this is also a much easier club to hit...forgiving (which you NEED in a U-club...)...and retails for about 100 bucks less than the Nak. This is without a doubt, the "Sleeper Club" of 2004. Slip in a Mercury Performance shaft and you've got the ultimate club.
xxio
TM Japan Rescue released about 2 years ago. Can be had for a song in SE Asia. 857 Pro Ti in mine. I hardly use the 3 wood now.
