  1. I have an older model Tourstage driver called the Athlete Spirit RV-10 Type 360. Does anyone know whether or not this is conforming? Thanks.
  2. Is Axiv the company? Are these available in the catalogue, and is there a website? Thanks.
  3. A corporation like Bridgestone has incredible resources which results in the golf division having the latest in technology and combined with forward thinking designers results in incredible products. I chose Macgregor randonmly, as an example to show that a company that is just simply a golf company is limited in their scope and capabilties. I tip my hat to this global corporate giant.
  4. I was watching a show on the Discovery channel about a Dolphin that had it's tailfin torn off, which it needs to swim, jump and manuever in the water. When the people at the zoo decided to pursue the idea of a prothsetic tailfin, they approached Japanese scientists at Bridgestone, who designed multiple prototypes before finally getting one that worked perfectly for the Dolphin. When I see stories like this, it doesn't surprise me that Bridgestone Japan makes some of the most technologically advanced golf equipment in the world. Let's just say that employees of Macgregor aren't going to be designing robotic animal prothsetics anytime soon. Just thought I'd pass this on.
  5. Well either Alessandro Tadini was already playing with it or he got one from the reps you mentioned. It definitely wasn't the Catamaran though, it was a small mallet type putter. Did you see the reps handing out any mallet style putters? Anyway, Tadini finished well in HK and he's up there this week so the putter is working well for him.
  6. Last week in the Hong Kong Open and this week in the Dunhill, Italian player Alessandro Tadini has been using a mallet style Hiro Matsumoto putter(they did a close up of it right before he made a 50 foot bomb). It looked gold in color and this guy is putting great with it. Anyone know which model that is?
  7. When someone says a club is "tipped" 1/2 inch...what does that mean? Thanks.
  8. Zip Thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is because one clubmaker told me he was afraid to bend them because they might snap. He was also nervous about the hump on the hosel, if you remember the King Cobra 2 has that weird hump on the hosel.
  9. I bought a set of King Cobra 2 Irons new off the rack many years ago. I know the shafts can be changed, but can these irons be altered for lie and loft or am I screwed if that needs to be adjusted. If I'm not mistaken these are cast clubs. Thanks for any input.
  10. is there an american website for these yet?
  11. If you're gonna go with a Fuji shaft I would recommend the Speeder, and the new Tour Release series is nice as well.
  12. I was just looking at the new issue of Japanese Golf Digest and there was an ad for a Mizuno combo set in black finish that included 3 & 4 irons MP-27, 5 6 7 MP-30 and 8 9 PW MP-33. It looked beautiful and I was wondering if the pic that Chris has shown is part of this set.
  13. Minimal- The Nakashima NP-R utility club is .5 degrees closed. Thanks for the feedback on the evolutions. - Ethan
  14. I would recommend the Nakashima ultilty club. Ken Racca at Kenscustomclubs.com is one of the best clubfitters in the country and he is a Nakashima dealer. By the way, how do you like those Evolutions, I'm thinking of getting a set.
  15. Looking for a price on the new Yonex Cyberstar PB irons or the Cyberstar Grand Irons. Thanks.
  16. Just remember that there are pros on tour playing so called "game improvement irons" and guys like Colin Montgomerie struggled with a blade iron and switched back to a cavity. Buce Fleischer plays with BB irons, and Thorpe uses VFT irons. Most LPGA players use GI irons. Are any of us better than even the lady pros? I don't think so. I think even in the pro ranks more forgiving technology is being embraced, so why not us?
  17. - Has anyone played the Mizuno MP-27 irons? Are they available and what is the price? Thanks.
  18. Anyone know the price for a set of the Kasco Inspire Tornado irons and the new Itlility woods? Thanks
  19. In terms of ordering custom made clubs and being nervous that you don't know what to order, the solution is very simple in my opinion. Find a master clubfitter/club builder and get fit for a set of irons, whether the brand is KZG, Alpha, whatever. Once you have the specs on what is perfect for you, you can order irons from any company and either order them with these specs or fit them to your specs afterward by having a clubfitter alter them. This seems to be the solution.
  20. Maybe you didn't read the post Rbl690, but a good chunk of the story was about how Phil uses his own Pro V 1's on the range instead of the range balls.
  21. Yes Miura, thank you, the thing just feels like a rock on contact. Maybe people prefer that type of feel in a putter, including better players, but I just like a softer feel.
  22. I tried the Scotty Red X putter in two models today. I must say I was not impressed. The putter has a cheap feel, and the sensation at impact has a clunky, unresponsive feel. I was never a Scotty fan, but it seems he has really gone the mass produced crap route with these. I tried a Ray Cook immediately after, and was extremely impressed with it's quality and feel.
  23. I am currently using an old set of King Cobra 2 irons. I like the irons a lot and cannot afford to buy a new set but I want to re-shaft them. They came with old apollo steel shafts in stiff and they are much too stiff for me. Can anyone suggest a new steel shaft? I was considering Dynamic gold lite with sensicore in regular flex. Thanks
  24. I'm looking for opinions on which is the highest quality shaft of the following: Fujikura Tour Release; Graphite Design YS-6; Grafalloy Pro Launch; Accuflex V.2; Thanks.
