I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a set and I would love to hear those playing them after the honeymoon how you like them?

And also if you could compare them to ( not that you can) what would resemble the closest in regards of set up, look to the eye, feel, forgiviness(you can even cross compare, such as 'kinda like a mp-30 but cross with cb-201's for example- not that is even close)??????

so spill it if you've got'em,please.

I've had mine about a month now. Here are some of the other irons I've had in play over the past couple of years to give you an idea. TS Z101 (still have them), MR23 Blade, MR23 CB, TS202, X16 Pros, Cobra..

IMHO for my game, which is about a 10 handi, the 27's are the best irons that I have found. I still like the Z101's, but I'm keeping those as my back up. A great combination of Playability, Forgiveness, Length and Style. The honeymoon is still on for me!

FAQ- thanks, I have also played many of the irons you mentioned, any comparisons? I am just trying to get a better feel of these before I pull the trigger......

I have been thinking of either the Satins or possibly the Black, but not sure if the black would change the feel of the irons(seems some platings make them either softer or harder in feel)...

Thanks Josh

Sorry for the threadjack.....

FAQ, when did you get rid of your 420 Burner?  I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a new G2.

LAX - It was a few weeks ago. I've gotten too spoiled by using a Gemini so I tried out a few others and I'm using the Cleveland right now. I still keep the Gem but I am experimenting with softer shafts and trying to get a little more length. I've heard good things about the G2 but I haven't tried it yet.

and how do you like them?

there are a lot of choices out there for $1000+, still content?

thanks Josh

That's tough to answer mainly because I had Project X shafts in the 202's. I'm playing standard Rifles in the 27's. The 202's felt much heavier and shorter. I get more length and better feel out of the 27's than I did with the 202's. 202's are downright clunky compared to the Mizuno's. They are like TourStage's answer to the X series Callaway. Both are very easy to hit straight though.

The MP27's are my favorites. The Z's are second. The others I didn't like. Closest ones are the Z's.

I really didn't need to read that last bit.

Not really, though. I've done a lot of customization to my Z's that it would be almost impossible for me to switch to another iron. I put the PX shafts in with the dowels, searched and finally found some grips that I really like (Lamkin Crossline) and now have started on counterbalancing them.

This past weekend I made a great comeback with them after a three week layoff due to an injury. The big kicker was holing a shot from 165 yards out on Sunday for an eagle. The Z's are just going to have to stay for awhile.

Damn Chris! That's great! Notice I didn't say I've gotten rid of the Z's. I don't think I'll ever lose the 101's. I like them that much. Congrats on healing up so quick. I always seem to get those injuries that take 3 freaking months to heal. That's great. No kidding though, if you like the Z's you will like the 27's too. They are similar in many ways although the MP's have a thicker topline at setup, and the heads are larger.

How about an update on your MP-27's. I have a set on order and I am currently using the TS-202's and love them.

Thanks,

sooner or later you're gonna pull the trigger on a new set, why don't just wait for the MP 60 Miz...I have a feeling it will be all of the Miz iron set style, feel, forgiveness combine together.

I am in dying need of a new set from my beat up old TM300. anymore sharping those grooves and I can literally change the swing weight. I am stalking for a new set of MP60...will wait for the "kill"

:smile2:
