tour 580xd

3 rounds on it. Going to pull the shaft tomorrow to try my current shaft of choice (Fuji it On 6). Signature says I have it on but is actually 3 days away from being in the head.

8.5 loft head. Plays a little higher than that. Forgiveness is typical of 440cc head. They tend to go just straight. Workable very little. The only "bonus" I see over other heads especially the retail 580XD is the square face (mine may even be open), less noise, and slightly heavier head. Mine comes out to D2.5 at 45" with a YS 6 S my friend's retail is D2 but at 45.5" with the stock shaft. Seems smaller then the retail but only because of the different soleplate.

Worth the $$$, maybe if you really need a square face, not so noisy, "cool tour factor" 440cc driver. If not you can always get lucky with a square G2, Cobra 440Tour, Wilson Pd5, etc.....

I apologize for the slight threadjack ... but am wondering ... how does the Tour 540xd compare to the Tour 580xd????

Which one is better and why????

Thanks, haribo

Haribo, I have not owned either tour clubs but I have done research on each.

Size: R580 XD 440 cc, R540 XD 400 cc

Face: R540 XD is shallower but longer than the R580 XD

Ball Flight: The R540 XD will put more spin on the ball due to a lower CG, thus a higher ball flight

Hope this helps!
