Saw a gauge design by darren eggers putter at a pro shop the other day. I thought there was only gauge design by David Whitlam. The logo looks the same though. Anybody knows the difference between the two?

The putter looks very much like Ping Anser with a small black insert and milled face. Red Gauge Design logo is stamped at the center of the cavity. And the name Darren Eggers in red is stamped on its sole. Is this a rare find? Anybody can help me out?

The Darren eggers putters are made in China, they retail in Japan for about 100.00 bucks cost is really low on these things due to simple design and cheap manufacturing.

David Whitlam doesn't work for the " Real " Gauge Design anymore " He has started his own version which I like to call " Dave Designs "

Stick with Gauge Japan if you want the best product your money can buy.

My opinion is that there really isn't any Gauge except Gauge Japan. The others are just KMart knockoffs. I agree that Gauge Japan will have to do a better job of marketing/branding to get that message out if they want to compete globally.

Gauge Japan owns China, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan etc etc even Australia every good market except the U.S.

The only rouge maker is David Whitlam and the U.S name Gauge Designs is registered under a company he doesnt own called P.G.S, P.G.S America is owned by 50% Gauge Japan and 50% another investor. So in other words he needs the permission of both investors in order to sell the U.S registered name. I dont want to get into this again...sorry..lol

I have seen some auto cad of what is in store for 2005 from gauge Japan & G-Field, if you thought last years stuff was sweet your gonna be blown away by whats coming next. :surprize:

It would take something like a crane to get those GAF1's out of my bag. They are just as easy to hit out of any lie as my TM 200's but much more solid and longer. That's saying a lot!

Of course the Ho in me is always looking to see what's next.

Same here, now I'm playing 3 & 5 and some days 4 & 7. I have never had a better Fairway wood.

Here are some pics of the redesigned Eldik -N- in limited Black Aluminite finish. I put one in the bag and it plays like a heavy anser/MOI.

What will the cost of the Eldik N be?

I got one of three with milling marks for a softer click and one as seen in the pics.

380.00 for flat face

500.00 w/ milling knife face marks

How does the feel compare to the heavy head eldik, also how will it compare to my custom putter I ordered? What is the difference in feel between the flat face, and with knife milling marks, I prefer a little more feeling of the ball so that I can control my distance, I didn't like the futura's milling marks, which one would suit me better?

Its completely redesigned over your heavy eldik. The biggest part would be the steps behind the face and the shorter butt end. The plumbers neck makes it play similar to the 2ball blade but heavier or play like an anser, It helps me with the shorter putts like this.

The feel with the milling marks is a tad more muted, still a click but not that soft of one, the flat version feels like the normal crisp click gauge japan is known for.

The Black Alumininte finish is the best finish I have seen yet on a putter very smooth.
